Chapter 48 Manage Yourself
Chapter 48: Chapter 48 Manage Yourself
Wen Ran of course knew that what was said could not be trusted, but Lu Jinglun’s intention had been kind.
She drove very slowly, turning her head to glance at Fu Chenlie, "If he’s consoling me, I can’t very well expose him, can I?"
"Is that so?"
After dropping these two ambiguous words, the man continued, "Then tell me, what does it mean when you say he was teaching you seriously before I arrived?"
Wen Ran, "..."
Even stating the facts would be scrutinized?
Now that’s a lesson learned.
Thinking it over, she finally said, "What I mean is that Mr. Lu might be closer to you, so once you appeared, he liked to joke around, but in front of me, someone he’s not familiar with, he was very serious."
Or perhaps, Lu Jinglun actually had a liking for Fu Chenlie, and that’s why he showed his unrestrained side in front of him, to get his attention?
Of course, this speculation, she did not share with Fu Chenlie.
As to the real reason, who knows?
The man scoffed coldly, "You’re quite good at whitewashing him."
Wen Ran pursed her lips and remained silent.
Whitewashing?
Lu Jinglun wasn’t bad to begin with, alright?
While she was having this internal monologue, the man’s voice suddenly cut to the main point, "Starting today, I will be teaching you to drive. You have five days, and if after five days you can’t drive steadily, no matter what Grandma says, I will have you kicked out of Fu Group."
Wen Ran, "..."
"I understand," she responded faintly, but in her heart she thought—
To ensure Grandma wouldn’t get upset over her potential dismissal, she had to master driving in these five days.
In her heart, she silently cheered herself on—
Wen Ran, come on! You can definitely do it.
Ding—
Her phone rang.
Her hands on the steering wheel, she had no time to check the message, and she certainly didn’t dare to blatantly stop the car in front of Fu Chenlie just to check her phone, so she planned to look at the message later when she was back in the company, sitting in the passenger seat while Fu Chenlie drove.
Fu Chenlie, observing her leisurely progress, spoke unhurriedly, giving instructions, "When driving straight normally, you just need to look ahead. When you’re turning or changing lanes, use the turn signal and also check the rearview mirror to see what’s behind."
"Okay, I got it."
"Signal well before you turn, don’t wait until the intersection to do it, and do not switch lanes repeatedly."
Wen Ran said "okay."
For some reason, when Fu Chenlie was telling her this, she inexplicably recalled her first day as a driver when she crashed one of his cars. On the way to the company in the car Assistant Cheng drove over, he had changed lanes continuously without signaling.
She glanced at him, "Do you normally use turn signals?"
"Of course."
"Even when changing lanes?"
The man furrowed his brows, his gaze showing displeasure as he stared at her, "What are you implying?"
"Nothing, just asking."
"Mind your own business."
Wen Ran nodded, "Understood."
She didn’t dwell on how he operated the vehicle; instead, she focused on following his instructions, signaling before turning, and when practicing changing lanes, she changed one lane at a time, drove a bit, and then changed to another lane.
After practicing for a while, Wen Ran felt that it wasn’t that difficult after all.
As noon approached, Fu Chenlie gave the command, "Head back to the company now."
"Oh, okay." She responded, stopped the car, and started to unbuckle her seat belt.
Fu Chenlie frowned, "What are you doing?"
Wen Ran said, "I’m getting out so you can drive; is there a problem?"
"You drive," he said in an uncompromising tone.
She was startled, "What?"
"What? You practiced half the day, and from here the road back to the company is too difficult for you to drive?"
"A bit scared."
Fu Chenlie leaned back in the passenger seat, his gaze passing through the windshield to the outside, his tone domineering, "Only practicing and not putting it into real situation, you will never improve."
At this point, he glanced at his wristwatch, "It’s still early; even at a snail’s pace, you’ll make it back in time for lunch at the employee cafeteria."
Wen Ran’s retreat was sounding loudly in her heart, but she dared not refuse Fu Chenlie.
For a moment, she was in a difficult position.
