My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me!
Chapter 411: You Don’t Love Her, Right?

Chapter 411: Chapter 411: You Don’t Love Her, Right?

Fu Chenlie looked up and glanced at her, without speaking.

Jiang Wan Ning suddenly laughed and impatiently asked, "You don’t love her, right?"

His face clouded over, his tone stern and icy, "Whether I love my wife is none of your concern. You only need to know that you are nothing but the past to me."

With these words, the man brushed past Jiang Wan Ning.

He walked to the elevator, pressed the button, and went upstairs.

Jiang Wan Ning stood there in a daze, the smile on her face gradually disappearing, replaced by more unwillingness and anger.

She stared in the direction Fu Chenlie left, silently vowing to herself—

I will never let it end like this!

...

After going upstairs, Wen Ran returned to the driver’s lounge.

Though she kept her head down as if reading a book, she didn’t actually take in a single word.

Her mind was full of what Jiang Wan Ning and Fu Chenlie were saying downstairs, afraid that a few words from Jiang Wan Ning would shake Fu Chenlie’s resolve to be with her.

This feeling of a heart in constant turmoil was truly torturous.

She didn’t know how much time passed before the sound of a door opening with a "creak" reached her ears.

Wen Ran looked up in a daze—

Fu Chenlie walked in, exuding an indescribable sense of indifference, his expression extremely indifferent, as if he had something on his mind but was also in a state of emptiness.

As he walked towards the desk, he didn’t even glance at the driver’s lounge.

Wen Ran looked at his appearance and could guess that Jiang Wan Ning had said something to affect him.

As for the specifics, she couldn’t judge.

She just felt that some things invariably make people worry because they indeed have the power to shake one’s heart.

It was clear that Jiang Wan Ning still weighed heavily in his heart.

This afternoon, Wen Ran’s mood was rather mediocre.

Until five in the afternoon, when Fu Chenlie came over to call her to finish work.

On the way back to the Huan Island Villa, the car was very quiet. Wen Ran tried to speak to him several times, about anything really, but always felt as if there was a thorn between them, making it hard for her to open her mouth.

When the car stopped at Huan Island Villa, she finally turned to look at him: "Honey, why haven’t you spoken the whole way? What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing."

"Did Ms. Wan Ning say something to you at noon?"

Fu Chenlie smirked, "Why? Does it bother you?"

"Honestly, it’s not that it bothers me, it’s that I’m afraid."

"Afraid of what?"

Wen Ran’s gaze shifted from his face, looking through the windshield at the swaying sycamore branches outside, her eyes filled with grievance and melancholy: "Afraid she had an unavoidable reason to leave back then, afraid she had a huge reason for not coming back these past two years, afraid you’d pity her, want to make up with her, and leave me."

The man reached out his long arm to hold her hand, soothingly, "Madam, don’t overthink, there’s nothing of the sort."

She turned back to meet his gaze, "Really?"

Fu Chenlie gave a soft "Hmm": "She just said she left a letter for me when she left back then, I told her I didn’t receive it. That’s all, you don’t need to think about it anymore, nor worry unnecessarily, okay?"

"She left a letter for you?"

"Hmm."

Wen Ran asked further, "Do you know what’s in the letter now?"

He was squeezing her soft hand as he answered in a deep voice, "Not yet clear."

She pursed her lips, speaking vaguely, "Since Ms. Wan Ning left you a letter back then, it can’t be considered leaving without saying goodbye. Don’t you want to reconcile with her?"
