Chapter 302: Chapter 302: Reckless Courage of a Cowardly Dog

Tan Qiming smiled, "Forget it. Let’s sign the contract first. Someday, when Mr. Fu has time, he could also visit our Huasheng Technology. We have a secretary there who is excellent at brewing coffee."

Fu Chenlie replied with a skin-deep smile, "Certainly."

After the contract was signed: "President Tan should still remember the celebratory party on Saturday night, right?"

"Of course, that party was originally supposed to be hosted by Huasheng Technology. Unfortunately, Mr. Fu’s team works too efficiently and didn’t leave us that opportunity."

"It’s just a party. Consider it Fu Group’s gesture of sincerity towards the cooperation with Huasheng Technology."

Tan Qiming said with marked solemnity, "Mr. Fu’s sincerity is truly exceptional. Huasheng Technology will absolutely not let Mr. Fu down."

Fu Chenlie wore a faintly formulaic smile, "Good, I’ll be watching."

With everything settled, Tan Qiming was about to get up and leave when his gaze inadvertently fell upon the ring on Fu Chenlie’s left ring finger. His eyebrows subtly lifted as he then turned to look at Fu Chenlie’s face.

The latter noticed his expression change and slightly curled his lips, "President Tan, is something wrong?"

"Last time I saw Mr. Fu, there was nothing on your hand. How come you’re wearing a ring today? Got yourself a partner?"

"No."

Tan Qiming had just nodded when he heard the man add, "I’m married."

He showed mild surprise, "So soon? A flash marriage?"

Fu Chenlie lifted his gaze to meet his, "Consider it so."

"Well, congratulations."

"Thank you."

Tan Qiming stood up, preparing to leave.

Fu Chenlie glanced toward Cheng Cheng, "Help escort President Tan out for me."

"Understood," Cheng Cheng responded.

Tan Qiming stepped towards the office door.

Fu Chenlie remained standing by the sofa, watching him leave.

In truth, he was curious to see whether Tan Qiming would once again overstep boundaries and try to approach Wen Ran in her resting lounge.

Sure enough—

That man halted his steps as soon as he reached the area closest to the driver’s lounge.

But this time, he didn’t go directly inside; he merely stood there, glanced in several times, and then walked away.

Fu Chenlie sneered coldly.

Every single one of them—truly reckless beyond belief!

He also stole a glance inside the lounge where Wen Ran was, seeing her expressionlessly reading a book. His gaze lingered there for quite some time.

Meanwhile, by the office door, Tan Qiming was completely unaware of Fu Chenlie’s inner thoughts.

Seeming rather pleased, a faint smile curved upon his lips.

When he saw the ring on Fu Chenlie’s hand earlier, he initially thought his so-called flash marriage was with Wen Ran. But when he glanced toward the driver’s lounge, he noticed there was no ring on Wen Ran’s left ring finger.

Thankfully, it was all just his imagination.

The celebratory party on Saturday should be a chance to meet Wen Ran.

When the time comes, he plans to have a proper conversation with her to clear things up.

...

Wen Ran didn’t go to the restroom all morning.

At exactly twelve o’clock, she got up from her seat and pushed open the door to the driver’s lounge, stepping out of the office and heading to the shared restroom on the floor of the executive suite.

Afterward, she joined Ningning and the others for lunch.

She stayed outside until nearly work time, before grudgingly returning to Fu Chenlie’s office—a suffocating place.

And just like the morning, she remained holed up in the driver’s lounge for the rest of the afternoon without coming out.

Until it was time to leave work.

Her behavior today must have been too conspicuous, as Fu Chenlie displayed a noticeably unfavorable attitude when he came for her after work. He merely knocked on the lounge door symbolically without even glancing at her and walked straight out of the office.

Wen Ran, expression indifferent, quickly gathered her things and followed him.

The elevator was engulfed in an almost deathly silence.

Ding—

When the elevator reached the underground parking lot and the doors opened, Wen Ran instinctively stepped back, allowing Fu Chenlie, as the boss, to exit first. Then, she trailed behind him.

She thought they could maintain this silence during the car ride and continue back to Huan Island Villa without interaction.

That was until Wen Ran saw Liu Jing in the underground parking lot.

It was clear Liu Jing was waiting for Fu Chenlie. The moment she saw him, she dashed over like a mouse encountering cheese.
