Aunt Wu spoke honestly, "I saw you were distracted and wondered if you were missing your husband."

Wen Ran twitched the corners of her mouth, "No, I’m not thinking about him at all. What’s there to think about?"

Aunt Wu chuckled and stepped away.

At eleven in the afternoon, Wen Ran drove out in the car that had collided with Qin Zeyu the day before.

Twenty minutes later, she arrived at the agreed-upon restaurant.

When she entered, Qin Zeyu was already there.

She made her way over to him.

Just thinking about her silent crush on him for several years made Wen Ran feel uncomfortable.

After taking her place, she smiled at him, "Have you been waiting long?"

"Just got here."

As he spoke, he stood up, walked over to her side to pull out her chair, and looked at her with a smile on his lips, "Sit."

Wen Ran felt a bit embarrassed and quietly said a "thank you."

She took her seat, and Qin Zeyu also sat down across from her.

Looking at him, Wen Ran felt like she couldn’t control her wild thoughts.

She wondered what would have happened if he had expressed his feelings for her back then.

Would they be together now, or would she have never met Fu Chenlie?

Why did fate love to play such tricks?

Though her thoughts were uncontrollable, she was lucid enough to realize that nothing could happen with Qin Zeyu; of course, she didn’t want anything to happen now either.

They ordered their meals.

A while later, the waiter brought their dishes and left.

Wen Ran looked across at Qin Zeyu, "How were those years abroad studying?"

Perhaps knowing she was married, Qin Zeyu was much more serious than the last time Fu Chenlie was present, "I had a tough time adjusting at first. Everything was foreign to me. Sometimes... I would think of you."

Wen Ran masked her awkwardness with a sip of water and chuckled, "Stop joking."

"It’s true, but don’t overthink it. I know you’re married. I’m not looking for anything. Let’s just catch up as old classmates. We’re adults now; liking someone from our youth is normal. Having the chance to say it in person means there are no regrets."

"You’re right."

Qin Zeyu didn’t expect her agreement and laughed, "Let’s eat while it’s hot."

She nodded and started to eat.

Just as she swallowed a bite of fish, Qin Zeyu asked, "So, what does your husband do?"

"He... works in a company. I’m not sure exactly what he does; I’ve never asked."

"You don’t ask about your husband’s job? Aren’t you worried that you don’t know what he does when he’s out?"

Wen Ran smiled, "He probably wouldn’t."

Qin Zeyu hesitated but still looked at her, "You... really like your husband, don’t you?"

Wen Ran paused and then responded, "He’s alright."

She could only give a noncommittal answer to that question.

The two continued their meal, occasionally reminiscing about their school days.

Unbeknownst to Wen Ran—

A group of people entered the restaurant, led by Lu Jinglun, with Jiang Yan and others likely from different companies following.

As Lu Jinglun conversed with them, his unique, indicative smirk was evident.

He hadn’t walked far into the restaurant when, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. Looking over, he saw Wen Ran and a man sitting opposite her, and his eyes lit up.

A Little White Rabbit having lunch alone with a man in broad daylight?!

Surprisingly bold of her.

So, was his brother... being cuckolded?

Lu Jinglun discreetly took out his phone and snapped a picture of the two of them together, sending it to Fu Chenlie with a message added.

"Where are you? Little White Rabbit is about to be snatched away."
