My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me! -
Chapter 265: Stubborn
Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Stubborn
She nodded without hesitation, even gesturing with her hands: "Yeah, it looks great, especially with your black jacket, it gives off a cool girl vibe, so cool."
Fu Tianxin pursed her lips, sounding somewhat downcast, "But my parents and my brother all think I don’t look like a girl."
"What do you mean you don’t look like a girl? There are many types of girls, you don’t have to have long black hair and wear skirts to be one. Don’t listen to their nonsense, just be yourself."
"Do you really think so?"
Wen Ran nodded without hesitation, "Of course."
Fu Tianxin met her gaze and smiled for the first time in front of her: "I didn’t expect you to have such good taste."
The latter gave a proud "hmm" sound: "Obviously, otherwise why would Grandma have picked me to be your sister-in-law? But honestly, you do look really beautiful when you smile!"
Fu Tianxin looked away awkwardly.
Two seconds later, she glanced at Wen Ran again: "If only my brother had as much insight. Jiang Wan Ning is the real schemer as described by Fu Jiayue. When my brother got into the car accident, she just ran off. That sort of person can only share joy but not adversity. I really don’t understand why he’s still hung up on her."
Wen Ran was slightly stunned, asking instinctively, "She ran off when your brother was injured?"
Fu Tianxin spoke indifferently, "Yeah, then she didn’t come back for two years. She probably thought my brother was a burden now, worried he would hold her back."
Wen Ran hadn’t expected that.
She couldn’t help but press on, "Does your brother know?"
"He doesn’t. He always thought it was Grandma who drove Jiang Wan Ning away. Grandma let it be, letting him blame her. It’s better than letting him know what kind of person he truly loved. Also, we have no evidence that Jiang Wan Ning ran away on purpose. What if she had her own unspeakable difficulties? So... we never badmouthed his first love in front of my brother."
"You’re all thinking of his best interests."
Fu Tianxin let out a snort of laughter: "It’s the only time in his life my brother has been an idiot over Jiang Wan Ning."
Wen Ran pursed her lips.
She wanted to give a sympathetic smile, but somehow she just couldn’t.
But her thoughts had already drifted far.
So Jiang Wan Ning had left when Fu Chenlie had his car accident.
Fu Tianxin looked at Wen Ran and suddenly suggested, "Sister-in-law, I think you’re really nice. Why don’t you try hard to make my brother fall for you? That way you could always be my sister-in-law."
"Your brother’s heart is elsewhere; no matter how hard I try, it won’t work, right?"
"That’s not necessarily true. Love often comes to those who are close by. And what can you do with someone who is out of sight and out of reach?"
Wen Ran smiled: "Tianxin, you don’t understand men. The more unattainable something is, the more they want it."
Fu Tianxin rolled her eyes: "Oh, so men are rather masochistic."
She concurred, "A bit."
They exchanged a smile.
"Let’s go find Grandma and your brother in the living room," said Fu Tianxin.
Wen Ran nodded and followed with an affirmative, "Okay."
In the living room.
Fu Chenlie and Grandma were already winding down their conversation.
He was wondering why Mrs. Fu had been out for so long and hadn’t returned yet when he heard some noise at the entrance.
The man looked over immediately.
Grandma caught the glance he gave Wen Ran and suppressed a smile at the corner of her mouth.
This grandson really is stubborn—so concerned, yet still refusing to admit he likes her!
Fu Chenlie noticed that Wen Ran had entered arm in arm with Fu Tianxin, his eyebrows raising slightly—
Since when were those two so close?
