Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Unparalleled

Fu Chenlie frowned, took the phone away from his ear, and glanced at the recent call log, only to find out that his call to Cheng Cheng had not gone through...

This Wen Ran, she had him all confused.

Fu Chenlie knew he had wrongly accused Cheng Cheng, and his tone softened a bit, "Go to the parking lot and drive the car to the entrance of Fu Group."

Cheng Cheng obeyed, "Okay, Mr. Fu, I’ll go right now."

He responded with a very dignified "Hmm" and hung up the phone.

Fu put his phone into his trouser pocket, and his gaze unintentionally swept over Wen Ran beside him.

She was no longer crying, but her eyes were still red, and she didn’t look too good.

Was she really so aggrieved over just one remark?

On the way to the restaurant, Fu Chenlie drove, while Wen Ran and the old lady sat in the back.

Fu Chenlie wasn’t sure what he was thinking, but he glanced at Wen Ran through the rearview mirror and noticed she was looking down, playing with her phone, apparently messaging someone.

He struck up a conversation on his own, "Why aren’t you two talking?"

The old lady feigned surprise, "Oh, my grandson, am I hearing things? You actually like listening to other people talk? Aren’t you the one who loves silence the most? When did your temperament change?"

"I’m just worried you might be bored."

"Come off it, if you really cared about me, I would have held my great-grandchild a long time ago, would it have taken this long to get a daughter-in-law?"

Fu Chenlie had no response to that.

He glanced at Wen Ran again.

She was still focused on her phone, endlessly.

"Do you really want a daughter-in-law who’s too busy playing with her phone to even bother with you? If so, choosing Ms. Wen Ran was indeed the right choice!"

"Don’t you try to sow discord here; just looking at Ranran fills my heart with joy."

The old lady said this while blissfully setting her sights on Wen Ran.

Wen Ran, naturally hearing their conversation, explained somewhat sheepishly to the old lady, "Grandma, my classmate messaged me asking if I was okay, I was just replying to him."

"That’s alright, you do your thing."

"Next time you practice driving, you’re not allowed to find that Zhao Xiu Yun."

Fu Chenlie suddenly spoke.

Wen Ran looked at him, "If not him, who then? You? Would you actually want to teach me how to drive?"

"Don’t dream the impossible."

"..."

She was at a loss for words with this man, but she dared not speak loudly, merely muttering, "Then just leave me alone."

"Let Grandma find someone to teach you; she has extensive connections and knows a lot."

"Grandma?!"

Wen Ran couldn’t help but look towards the old lady.

The old lady smiled, "I have someone to recommend; his driving skills are unmatched in Jiang City."

Fu Chenlie looked dubious, "Who?"

It was while looking at Wen Ran that the old lady answered, "Lu Jinglun, your Grandma Lu’s grandson. He’s an F1 racer, top-notch at driving, with plenty of experience to teach you more than enough."

"But won’t he be too busy?"

"Not at all, he’s quite free."

Wen Ran nodded, sort of understanding.

From the front driver’s seat, hearing the name Lu Jinglun, Fu Chenlie immediately furrowed his brow.

Who was Lu Jinglun?

His childhood playmate, also the most notorious playboy in Jiang City, always putting fun first, flirting with women everywhere, those eyes of his seeming to electrify anyone, unlucky enough to be caught in their gaze.

Wen Ran was like a Little White Rabbit, being with him would be like a lamb entering a tiger’s den!

Of all people to choose, why Lu Jinglun?!

Fu’s expression turned extremely displeased, "Why fetch Lu Jinglun? Wen Ran doesn’t even know him."

"Does Ranran know you? Would you teach her?"

"My time isn’t that cheap."

The old lady gave him a pointed look, "Then keep quiet, I decide who to find."
