Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Have you cried enough?!
Fu Chenlie’s tone did not lower when he spoke.
Zhao Xiuyun and Granny heard everything clearly.
Being scolded so harshly in front of classmates and Grandma, Wen Ran’s self-esteem was severely hurt.
She suddenly pulled her arm out of his grasp, stood still without saying a word, her eyes reddening and on the verge of tears.
Seeing this, Granny slapped Fu Chenlie hard, "Your mouth is truly unnecessary; if you can’t speak properly, then shut it!"
Zhao Xiuyun looked at Wen Ran with some concern, "Ranran, are you okay?"
"I’m fine, Zhao Xiuyun. I’ll treat you to lunch another day, I’m not in the mood today, is that okay?"
"Of course, next time I’ll treat you."
"Thank you."
Dropping those words, she turned to Granny, "Grandma, I just remembered I have plans to go shopping with my best friend this afternoon, I need to leave now."
Without waiting for a response, she turned and quickly walked away.
After walking a distance, tears uncontrollably fell down her face.
Although it wasn’t her first time experiencing Fu Chenlie’s harshness, today was different; his words were not only ugly, but also in front of Grandma and a classmate.
She felt so humiliated, so heartbroken.
Behind her, Zhao Xiuyun glanced at Granny, "Granny Fu, I’ll go check on Ranran."
"No need, Ranran was made to cry by my grandson, he should be the one to apologize. Student Zhao, you can go attend to your matters."
At that, Granny fiercely pinched Fu Chenlie, "Aren’t you hurrying over to see what’s wrong with Ranran?"
"I’m not going."
"Are you going or not? If you don’t, I will start a hunger strike!"
Fu Chenlie frowned and lowered his voice, "Granny, enough!"
Granny huffed, "Enough? You hurt that girl’s self-esteem, you must apologize, or else I will starve to death at the door of this company!"
He stood still, unmoved.
Granny directly kicked him, "Move now, or I’ll throw myself against the wall!"
Every other word was a threat, and she showed no regard for his status as the president of Fu Group as she kicked him. Fu Chenlie’s face darkened, and his frown deeply etched.
Lastly, he straightened his suit, yet reluctantly stared at Wen Ran’s retreating figure and chased after her.
With his long legs, it didn’t take him long to catch up.
Wen Ran was still crying. Suddenly, a figure appeared beside her, and she moved aside, mistaking almost bumping into him, without realizing who it was.
But then, that cold voice came, "Cried enough?!"
Hearing that voice, she realized it was Fu Chenlie.
She didn’t need to guess to know Grandma must have forced him to come.
Wen Ran didn’t respond but quickened her pace.
Fu Chenlie blocked her way in two steps, only seeing her red, pitiful eyes like a homeless Little White Rabbit when he stood in front of her.
The man coughed lightly, his voice slightly awkward, "I’m talking to you, didn’t you hear?"
"You’re blocking my way!"
"Talking so closely with another man right in front of me, was I wrong to say something?"
Their conversation seemed completely off frequency.
Wen Ran looked up, meeting his gaze, those stubbornly resilient eyes making Fu Chenlie feel a bit burnt, causing him to frown, "What are you looking at?"
"You’re not wrong, how could you be wrong? It’s all my fault, okay?"
"It is your fault!"
Wen Ran gritted her teeth and avoided him as she continued forward.
However, her arm was suddenly grabbed.
