My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me!
Chapter 203: You Are Rivals in Love

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: You Are Rivals in Love

Wen Ran was somewhat anxiously urging him to keep quiet, "Boss, don’t talk, she’s here."

Fu Chenlie, "..."

He sneered coldly, his face displaying a helplessness about not knowing what to do with her.

CEO Zhou walked over.

Standing in front of the two, her lips curled into a shallow smile, "Mr. Fu, good morning."

Fu Chenlie, with his aristocratic demeanor, grunted in acknowledgment, the very image of a noble young master.

He casually responded to her and then turned his attention to Wen Ran, his tone slightly raised and inexplicably reproachful, "Why are you standing there dawdling? Follow me to the office."

"Oh."

Wen Ran complied, her gaze unconsciously shifting to CEO Zhou.

CEO Zhou nodded at her.

She smiled and suggested to her, "CEO Zhou, shall we go together? The elevator is in the same direction."

"Sure."

"Mm-hm."

For some reason, after Fu Chenlie had told her about CEO Zhou’s long and arduous pursuit of love, rising from an intern to the position of Finance Director, she became quite interested in her.

After all, she had once seriously liked someone else.

She understood all too well the feeling of having that kind of affection but having to bury it deep within her heart.

It was for this reason that she felt a kind of empathy towards CEO Zhou.

Fu Chenlie frowned when he heard Wen Ran initiating conversation with CEO Zhou, casting a discreet glance at her.

What was this woman playing at?

Soon, they all arrived at the elevator.

Wen Ran obediently stood next to CEO Zhou, preparing to take the staff elevator up together.

But unexpectedly, Fu Chenlie stepped up to the private elevator and called out to her, "Wen Ran, come here."

She was momentarily stunned.

During work hours, she always took the staff elevator.

Why, in front of CEO Zhou, was he pulling her to take the private elevator?

Wen Ran tactfully declined, "Boss, it’s not necessary, I can take the staff elevator."

Fu Chenlie’s patience was notably lacking, and he commanded with sharpness in his voice, "I need to keep an eye on you to sort out some matters. I’m very busy and don’t have time to wait for you after I go up. Now, get on!"

Wen Ran, "..."

Reluctantly, she murmured an "Oh," and stepped in.

Before the elevator doors closed, Wen Ran waved to CEO Zhou, "CEO Zhou, goodbye."

The latter revealed a formulaic smile.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, Wen Ran felt her arm being grabbed and she was pulled back a few steps.

She looked up into Fu Chenlie’s eyes, "Boss, what’s the matter?"

He stepped closer to her, cornering her in the elevator, and looked down at her from above, "Don’t you understand your relationship with CEO Zhou? Why are you so enthusiastic with her?"

Wen Ran was a bit bewildered.

She pointed to herself and said, "My relationship with CEO Zhou is just that of ordinary company colleagues, what else could it be? I wasn’t being enthusiastic, I was just greeting her."

The man snorted contemptuously, heavily stressing his reminder, "You are rivals in love."

"What?"

"You are my wife, she is the woman who likes me. Aren’t you rivals in love?"

Wen Ran bore a look that was half amused, half speechless, and looked at him, "Boss, it seems you have some misunderstandings about the definition of rival in love?"

He furrowed his brows slightly, "What misunderstanding?"

She explained very seriously, "If I like you and CEO Zhou likes you, then we would be rivals. I don’t like you, but CEO Zhou likes you, so we are not rivals."

Upon hearing this, the man’s expression grew even uglier.

He lifted her chin, his lips forming a cold curve, "Wen Ran, do you really need to keep saying how much you don’t like me all day long? Am I not worthy of your affection? Or is it... you actually have started liking me, but to attract my attention, you deliberately keep saying you don’t like me over and over again?"
