My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me! -
Chapter 19: You Feel Wronged?
Chapter 19: Chapter 19: You Feel Wronged?
"Call Grandma now and tell her you can’t drive and that you want to resign."
"Oh, okay."
Wen Ran felt that it was the right thing to do.
When she took out her phone to dial Grandma’s number from her recent call history, the man added, "Put it on speakerphone."
"Okay."
Wen Ran did as told.
After the call went through, it was quickly answered, and the warm voice of the elderly lady came through, "Ranran, what’s wrong?"
"Grandma, it’s my first day at work, and I crashed Mr. Fu’s car."
The old lady asked anxiously, "There was an accident? Ranran, how are you?"
Wen Ran hurriedly responded, "I’m fine, Grandma, don’t worry. It’s just that I’ve delayed Mr. Fu’s time, and the repairs will be expensive. Even if we go through insurance, the premium will rise a lot next year."
"Sigh, as long as you’re okay, that’s what matters. Spending money is not an issue; my grandson’s least concern is money. Don’t burden yourself with this, just be more careful when driving next time."
Fu Chenlie heard this and his mouth curled into a sarcastic smile.
Wen Ran quickly got to the point, "Grandma, actually, I want to resign."
"Why? You don’t like the job as a driver?"
"It’s not that. I haven’t driven since getting my license. My driving experience is zero. I don’t think I’m good enough to be Mr. Fu’s driver. He better hire someone more fitting so as not to delay work."
The old lady asked again, "Has my grandson arrived at the company now?"
"Yes, he has,"
"You see, even with your unfamiliar driving, he still got to the company, didn’t he? That’s enough. Having a driver’s license means that the driving school recognizes your driving level; you just need more practice. He has so many cars in his garage, after wrecking ten or eight cars, your driving skills will naturally improve, right?"
Wen Ran knew that Grandma meant well, so she could only repeat helplessly, "Grandma, I really don’t think I’m suitable..."
The old lady’s tone immediately turned serious, "Ranran, tell me the truth, is it my grandson telling you to say this to me?"
Wen Ran, "?!",
She glanced at Fu Chenlie and denied into the phone, "No, it’s my own feeling of unfamiliarity."
"Give him the phone," the old lady commanded directly.
Wen Ran looked at Fu Chenlie pleadingly.
He frowned and motioned irritably for her to bring the phone to him.
Wen Ran placed the phone on his desk, and to prevent Grandma from knowing she was on speakerphone, she reminded him symbolically, "Grandma wants to talk to you."
The man stared at the phone screen and began solemnly, "Grandma, what is it?"
"Ranran continues as your driver, or shall I arrange for a servant to go to Huan Island Villa to take care of you two, which do you choose?"
"Why talk about the servants? Let’s stick to the point, she’s not suited for the driver position."
The old lady snorted coldly, "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You just want to drive her away. But in my eyes, she either stays on at Fu Group, a job transfer is also fine, or I will arrange for someone to go to Huan Island Villa to monitor your every move."
Fu Chenlie let out a snort, "You finally admit to monitoring?"
"So what if I am? Don’t forget what you promised..."
Realizing what the old lady was about to say, the man frowned immediately and interrupted her, "Understood, I’ll have her stay at Fu Group."
"You know what you’re doing, at least!"
"Hanging up."
After hanging up the phone, Fu Chenlie glared at Wen Ran as if he wanted to devour her.
She silently took back her phone, showing a pitiable expression, "I was powerless, I can only say that Grandma is rather stubborn. I don’t want to be your driver either..."
He scoffed with disdain, "So you’re saying you feel wronged?"
