My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me!
Chapter 17 I Don’t Want to Die Yet

Chapter 17: Chapter 17 I Don’t Want to Die Yet

Wen Ran gave him a suspicious glance.

When she looked away, she caught a glimpse of Fu Chenlie’s chilling gaze and realized that the gentleman had been frightened by him.

She let out a breath, relieved to have him there.

Otherwise, she figured she might have been thoroughly berated by that slightly impatient gentleman, which made her feel somewhat grateful toward him.

Although Fu Chenlie was emotionally unstable, he still knew who was close to him and protected her at critical moments.

This husband of hers wasn’t as bad as she had imagined.

But could she continue working as a driver?!

As Wen Ran was feeling down, a WeChat message popped up on her phone.

Jiang Yan: [Ranran, I went for an interview today at Lu Group for the CEO’s secretary position. I passed the first and second rounds, and I’ve just received notification for the final interview.]

Lu Group...

She had been to Fu Residence yesterday, and Grandma seemed to have a friend who was Granny Lu, who complained about her grandson only knowing how to have fun and still being single.

Ah Yan wasn’t going to be his secretary, was she?!

Wen Ran thought about it but didn’t ask further; after all, the final interview hadn’t happened yet, so there was no use knowing too much.

She congratulated her best friend first.

Wen Ran: [Ah Yan, you’re too amazing! Congratulations, you will definitely do well in the final interview too!]

Jiang Yan: [mua~.gif]

Jiang Yan: [What about you? Is it going smoothly working as Mr. Fu’s driver?]

Wen Ran: [Don’t even mention it, I had an accident on the first day.]

Wen Ran: [unlucky.jpg]

Just as she sent the last emoticon, Cheng Cheng hurried over.

When Wen Ran saw Cheng Cheng, he also saw her and politely called out, "Madam."

Then he went to the rear car door to update Fu Chenlie, "Mr. Fu, I have contacted the insurance company, but they need more time to get here. How about this, you go to the office with Madam and I’ll stay here to handle this."

He said, handing the car keys over to him.

Fu Chenlie took them.

Cheng Cheng quickly opened the car door for him.

Wen Ran saw the man get out of the car, so she also pushed open the driver’s door and got out, silently following him to the car Assistant Cheng had brought.

Both their footsteps stopped beside the driver’s seat.

Fu Chenlie turned around and glanced at her.

Wen Ran pointed uncertainly at herself, "Boss, you’re not still asking me to drive, are you?"

He sarcastically curled his lips, emphasizing heavily, "I don’t want to die yet."

She lowered her head.

It sounded as if someone wished to die.

Besides, he was safer in the back seat than she was as the driver.

"Get in the car," the man commanded.

She responded gloomily, "Oh."

Just as Wen Ran was about to get into the back seat, bending down to do so, his dangerous tone rang out, "Ms. Wen, are you really treating me like your driver?"

"No, absolutely not."

"Move to the front."

His tone was so harsh, she didn’t want to deal with him but still obediently did as told, walking to the front to take the passenger seat.

Having a car accident early in the morning was bad enough, and waiting on the road for so long had wasted so much time, Fu Chenlie’s scarce patience was spent, his expression grim.

He glanced at the time on his wristwatch, half-past eight.

By now, he should have been in his office, sitting and drinking coffee while listening to his secretary explain today’s schedule, but because of Wen Ran, this fool, he was still on the road.

Did she even understand how valuable his time was?
