Chapter 109: Chapter 109 Mr. Fu Cannot Walk Alone

Fu Chenlie snorted, "Forget it, let’s just eat here."

"Okay," she obediently replied, thinking to herself how contradictory this man could be.

Wen Ran had just put a piece of cabbage into her mouth, savoring the excellent flavor of her own cooking, when she heard Fu Chenlie speak up, "Did you bring any fruit?"

"I did!" She answered.

Knowing he was fussy, she had purposely brought apples and bananas that morning, and had even washed the apples at home.

Good thing she was clever.

Wen Ran stood up to get the apples and bananas out, placing them at the side of the dining table, "They’re washed, you can eat them directly."

Fu Chenlie gave an apple a look of disdain, his scrutinizing gaze once again fell on Wen Ran, and his questioning voice was filled with displeasure, "You’re just going to leave it like this for me to eat?!"

Her face full of confusion, "What’s wrong? They’ve been washed already."

She couldn’t possibly be expected to feed him with her hands, right?!

Puzzled, she then heard the man, with his noble and chilly demeanor, issue a command like a god, "Peel and cut it into pieces."

Wen Ran, "..."

Peel?

Cut into pieces?

Why was he so difficult to deal with?!

Was he a three-year-old who couldn’t walk independently?!

No, children could walk independently by one and a half years old!

He was at most six months old!

Wen Ran was truly impressed, but fortunately, the CEO’s dining area had a fruit knife, so she picked up the apple again, preparing to peel and cut it!

However—

Just as she stood up, she heard Fu Chenlie speak again, "Eat your meal first, then take care of the fruit."

"...Okay."

Wen Ran silently consoled herself—

Don’t be angry, getting angry is dumb.

She comforted herself, who could blame him for being ill?

Being ill required indulgence.

Wen Ran ate her meal silently, even her breathing was light, fearing that a single heavy breath might anger the patient and consequently affect her.

But...

She was already being so careful, and yet Fu Chenlie still wasn’t satisfied.

He spoke flatly, "Aren’t you usually very talkative? Why are you mute now?"

She did talk a lot, yes, but how could she dare to say anything in front of him?!

Wen Ran really wanted to curse!

But, she held back, grinning at him, "I thought you wouldn’t like a noisy environment, so I didn’t speak. If you want to hear me talk, I can do that too."

"If you have something to say, then speak, instead of bottling it up until you make yourself ill, and then Grandma takes her anger out on me."

"..."

Wen Ran was really annoyed!

She glanced at him and said indifferently, "CEO Zhou likes you, why aren’t you a bit warmer to her?"

Fu Chenlie snorted lightly, giving her a cold glance, "I’m warm to her, and then what?"

"Then she’d be in a good mood, right? Being nice to someone who likes you is a kind gesture."

"That’s what you think?"

Wen Ran nodded, "Right."

He asked with a scoff, "So, I’m warm to her, she’s in a good mood, then she likes me even more, and you think that’s me being kind?"

She suddenly froze.

That seemed true because if Fu Chenlie was nice, CEO Zhou might misunderstand and think he liked her too, which could lead her deeper into a trap, and how despairing would it be for her to eventually find out Fu Chenlie didn’t like her at all?

Wen Ran hadn’t expected Fu Chenlie to be so forward-thinking.

Suddenly, she felt a bit of admiration for him, and couldn’t help but probe, "So, you’re intentionally being cold to her?"

"Intentionally?"

The man’s tone rose, "Do you think I’m that idle? Or do you think I’m very warm to you?"

Wen Ran, "..."

He wasn’t idle; his time was precious and he was busy.

Of course, he wasn’t warm to her either, quite the opposite—sufficiently cold and quite nasty.

Wen Ran got it; this man was just a cold, mouthy piece of work.
