Chapter 933: 317. Lady Adel’s Warrior Selection_2

The "Necromancer" let out a strange laugh.

In a sinister tone, it said,

"The destruction of Westerburg in Transia was merely a test, a ’Death Tribute’ initiated by the members of the Twilight followers in the Circle Tower.

I have secretly read the notes of the Jackal Warlocks, recorded therein are plans of the Twilight followers in Transylvania. I saw only a small part, but I can tell you for certain that beneath the ruins of Westerburg lies an army of the dead no less formidable than the undead creatures in the Polluted Swamp.

They are free for now, but the moment the Twilight followers issue the command...

Ah!

I cannot say more; that damnable constraint is nearly tearing my soul apart, but I guess you already know enough. Transylvania has long been in their hands, Sir Morphy.

You just do not know it yet.

You do not rule a rubbish heap, so do not think too highly of your situation.

This is a volcano waiting to erupt! We shall all be buried here, and what truly infuriates me is that you’ve dragged our Adel into this peril too.

I should continue cursing you, but as things stand, I advise you to urgently prepare a necessary escape plan. I do not care about the others in this city; people are meant to die anyway.

But Adel must survive!

She is the continuation of Mona and Truman’s life.

She deserves a happy and fulfilling life! And once the Black Disaster breaks out, whether your Transylvania can last even a week remains unknown."

"Your information comes at an opportune time; I should thank you, even though I am loath to do so," Murphy said.

Sir Morphy abruptly rose to his feet, gripped the Core Bead, and initiated communication with the Valande Knights and Count Shuren.

These two had just led the new recruits of the Winged Cavalry to the Westerly Territory for training this very morning. Based on their speed, they should have already left Count Cadman’s Domain by now. The Lord felt he should share this news with his subordinates.

Murphy’s head was throbbing with pain.

He knew Transylvania had many problems, but such deadly situations piling up one after the other was really pushing him to the edge.

He felt he needed to find a way to relieve some of the pressure on himself, especially the threats from Westerburg and the Polluted Swamp. These were not troubles Murphy could easily solve with the players.

No!

He must now recruit help.

---

Adel left the office.

She had no idea what kind of bombshell her Uncle Bella had just dropped on her master, but that did not hinder E Sister from starting to select personnel for her forthcoming secret mission.

Murphy said Adel was not keen on establishing her own faction, which wasn’t entirely true.

Although Adel’s forces were indeed not as vast as Maxim’s, as an Intelligence Officer, she did not need a strong military force to aid her cause. She followed a principle very similar to that of Sir Morphy’s approach.

It is called "Quality over Quantity."

She quickly arrived at the city’s sewers, entering the secret base of the Blood Rat Gang, and upon seeing Lady Adel, Miss Doris, who had just flown back from the Smugglers’ Forest, immediately pursed her lips.

The leader of the Rat Gang had been looking forward to leisurely idling around, but upon seeing the serious expression on her "superior", she knew she definitely had more work to do.

Apart from Doris, Adel also had a Descendant named Diana.

She was already on her way; this person was one of the last survivors of Jed’s party. Originally there were three, but the unlucky Dorin and Ross died in an ambush by the Gray Claw Faction, and Doris had taken up their roles.

As an NPC, Adel had no limit on the number of Descendants she could develop, but she had no intention of abusing her Blood Covenant.

Again, she believed quality far outweighed quantity.

Minutes later, Diana and Doris arrived at the Blood Rat Gang’s headquarters. Only then did Adel inform her Descendants of the upcoming tasks.

Upon hearing they would venture deep into the Polluted Swamp, Doris was the first to lose color in her face. As a former member of the Explorer’s Association, she had enough knowledge to understand just what kind of dreaded place the Polluted Swamp was.

"You’ve really given us a deadly job!" she complained.

"Even the most exceptional Adventurer would write their will before stepping into the Polluted Swamp. Its mysteries remain unsolved to the Explorer’s Association, and right now, there is a group of Jackal Warlocks from the Dark Mountain Range there.

This is truly cursed!"

The other Vampire, Diana, although silent, her expression showed that she too disliked this new job. Adel, however, did not give them the opportunity to choose. She spoke in an even tone,

"I will allow you to complain, but after venting, you should come up with an actionable plan. I have already consulted Sir Morphy.

He has allowed us to recruit our own Warriors from now on.

Twelve spots per person!

If you are interested, you can also seek a Champion Warrior for yourself, meaning even without the Blood Rat Gang and the Blood Claw Tribe, we would have up to 50 people at our disposal.

Warriors of Black Iron Rank are more than enough to make a foray into the Polluted Swamp. Of course, I’m not expecting you to start right away; we have a lot to prepare.

Until Grey Claw finds a safe route, I will not rashly send you to your death, but from now on, the focus of work at the Shadow Intelligence Bureau should shift to the southern part of Transylvania."
