Chapter 907: 308. Put construction or whatever aside, let’s collect a debt first!_3
"I heard the Knight Tepar say that your spoils of war were snatched away by the Wolf People..."
"Oh, that mission was activated by me and your two uncles. We’re about to head over now."
Half-Hanging Insurance patted himself down, huddled with his two old brothers to sort out their gear, and finally took off a Psychic package to hand over to his son like a "red envelope," saying:
"Let’s go, the teleportation gate opened by the NPCs is ready. We’ll go together. It’s like they say, ’Brothers take on the tiger together, father and son join the battlefield.’ Let’s get you some equipment you can actually use.
Make sure you put on a decent performance later, don’t embarrass me and your two uncles.
We three are also well-known figures in Transylvania now. We really can’t afford to lose face."
The middle-aged man’s anger came and went quickly. Within a few minutes, he was beaming with pride, boasting as he led his clueless son away from the Blood Eagle Corridor.
Just as he was about to step through the door, he suddenly remembered something, his face dramatically changing. Unfortunately, it was too late to delay any further.
A few seconds later, Vomit Mud Sauce, with a dumbfounded face, saw his father’s four female guards, which he had been "raising" in the game, and his expression became "spectacular."
He ducked his head and after several seconds, the young man hesitantly murmured:
"Paper...paper people mistresses? All four of them? Dad, I suddenly feel Mom’s concerns aren’t unfounded. I think when I go back this week, you really need to explain things to me."
"Shut up! This isn’t something that can be explained in a sentence or two, but! It’s definitely not what you think! Don’t you go back and incite your mother with your gossip, I’m warning you, kid."
---
"What are you doing?"
After the young gamers, filled with vigor, left the Blood Eagle Corridor under the lead of a few administration guys, Cui Si came to Murphy’s office to discuss with him about cultivating psychic players. When she pushed open the door, she saw Murphy holding a box, taking things out of his Psychic package to put inside.
It looked as if he was planning to "bucket and run."
"I’m just tidying up some things I won’t be needing for a while."
Murphy turned his head to explain:
"Didn’t we just launch the third stage of the main storyline? I thought about it, and just giving a vague description of the rewards might not be enough to motivate those guys. So, I decided to let the Blood Rat Gang open a ’black market’ in the sewers."
"What does the black market have to do with you tidying things up?"
Cui Si grew even more curious.
She approached Murphy, eyeing him suspiciously and said:
"Are you planning to skip out? Leave me all alone to suffer in Transylvania?"
"Look at you, my heart aches too much for that."
Murphy bantered, causing Cui Si to snort. Then she listened as Murphy explained to her:
"This black market isn’t your traditional underground marketplace. It’s a channel I designed for players to get their hands on advanced weapons, protective gear, rare items, and skill notes. It can also serve as a reward pool for certain random events and a way to eventually recirculate the large amounts of Gold Coins from their hands.
You see, this piece of protective gear is that set of Elder armor you gave me before. I don’t need it now, but there’s no point in keeping it as a collectible, so I’ll send it to Doris.
It’ll be available for purchase with special tokens or a large number of Gold Coins.
And for example, these swordsmanship notes."
The Vampire Lord picked up a stack of swordsmanship journals from the table, adding:
"These are excerpts from the swordsmanship taught by Necessary Evil, detailed analyses of the styles and techniques of various clans. Under normal circumstances, my little gamers would find them very hard to obtain, but they’ll be available in the black market."
"Hmm, I see, the Thieves Guild’s approach."
Cui Si said with crossed arms:
"The Thieves Guild, operated by the Half-body Men on the Ligurian Peninsula, also has a similar trading venue, but only open to members and guests they recognize. You plan to run a little exchange meeting like that.
But will your personal collection be enough?"
"Of course not."
Murphy continued to pack, shaking his head and saying:
"I’ve already messaged Maxim, Adel, and Phemys. They can sell off what they don’t need through Doris..."
"Tch, what good stuff could you youngsters possibly have?"
Cui Si sneered and took out a thick grimoire from her Psychic package and handed it to Murphy, saying:
"This grimoire contains the notes I took while studying psychic powers when I was young. I don’t need them anymore, so you take them... Chao! What are you doing?"
She saw Murphy casually flip through a few pages and then tear the grimoire down the middle with a "snap." His disrespectful attitude towards knowledge immediately set off Cui Si’s anger, but before her Nocturne Wand could hit Murphy on the head, she saw him looking at her matter-of-factly and saying:
"Such a treasure, how can we sell it just once? Of course, it should be split into three volumes, upper, middle, lower, to be sold randomly. We’ve got to maximize resource utilization. My dear Duke, we can’t exactly say we’re wealthy at the moment."
"Oh, that makes sense... then divide it into seven parts to correspond with the seven Chapters in the grimoire. Sigh, your brain, always scheming to squeeze the last drop out of these poor gamers.
Being stuck with you, they really have fallen on hard times."
"Tsk, that use of the Another World idiom isn’t bad, ten points for you, don’t let it go to your head."
