Chapter 896: 305. Do young players nowadays all have such strong self-management awareness?

"Holy shit, holy shit, these stats!"

At this moment, Medical Insurance Wars God Da Saien, one among the group of casual players, was holding a can of soda in his rented room, staring dumbfounded at the video edit he uploaded to a certain site four hours ago.

This CG movie he named "The Rise of Transylvania · The Doom of the Jackal People" lasted only thirty minutes, a short clip he made by editing together the screen footage contributed by himself and other brothers.

Since he was neither a professional filmmaker nor did he operate with a team, even Da Saien himself thought the short clip was so rough it was almost embarrassingly bad.

Its only advantage probably lay in the utterly realistic first-person perspective and the bold use of a "one-shot" filming mode.

Although he had previously obtained permission from Brother Fa for secondary creation on the forum, a significant reason Da Saien took nearly half a month to officially upload his first piece was his lack of confidence.

Though he firmly believed "Real Different World" had the potential to go viral, the development team wasn’t in a hurry to promote it, so him jumping in seemed a bit "overconfident"?

Driven by this mentality, Da Saien uploaded his meticulously edited CG video and simply didn’t bother checking it afterwards. He donned his helmet and logged into the game to run the Rat King’s Apocalypse dungeon with a few friends, still the "daily dark horse," without any special drops or random events.

Both of these things have been confirmed by players as triggerable.

The special drop "Echoes of the Rat King" can be exchanged for a Psychic Weapon blueprint. Currently, the blacksmith NPCs in the camp are offering high prices to buy it since its cool appearance has led to back-orders for a month at the blacksmith shops.

And for players who aspire to pursue the blacksmith secondary profession, it is a must-farm existence.

The random event "Cunning Ghoul Zivig" upon completion unlocks the hidden career conversion quest line for "Cunning Magician/Coffin Bearer," two professions that sound "dark" and are likewise a must-farm for players who don’t really like playing heroes.

This has directly resulted in the majority of players running the "Rat King’s Apocalypse" dungeon daily to try their luck, but sadly, the lucky ones are few and far between.

However, this time Da Saien collected enough "Rat Gang Badges," a boss token only dropped by this dungeon, and happily went to exchange them with the Blood Rat Gang for a Ghoul’s Fang, an Evil Spirit Shield, and a Ghoul’s Eye accessory.

The reputation merchant of the Rat Gang sells the Ghoul’s Skin set, a special dark series of gear whose strength is slightly higher than the veteran set. Wearing it, the technically lackluster Da Saien felt confident enough to challenge the Black Iron Trial.

Well, admittedly, Da Saien had focused most of his energy on "movie-making" these days, which put his leveling progress far behind his peers who entered the game at the same time.

Even within his fixed five-person squad, he was the last one preparing for the Black Iron Trial.

Taking advantage of the time his companions were preparing scrolls, potions, and items for him, this guy took off his helmet intending to smoke and check the stats on his video, only to find the backend page refresh showing that the stats had exploded!

The number of views and coins was somewhat overwhelming, and upon refreshing today’s playback rankings on the homepage, his CG movie had actually made it into the top ten.

It’d only been four hours!

Direct messages were already overflowing. Glancing at the unread count of 999+, it was indeed frightening.

But after skimming through a few messages, they were all about information regarding "Real Different World," asking where to download it and how to get an invitation code. Even professionals asked about the game’s requirements, wondering why the graphics were so awesome.

"Awesome?"

Dassaen drank a big gulp of soda with a self-satisfied look while lounging in his computer chair and remarked with a touch of vanity:

"The quality was already compressed when transferred from the helmet to the computer, and compressed again during editing, giving it a sort of ’cheap feel’ like a game. If you saw the scenery of Transylvania with your own eyes, you’d probably go insane."

With that thought, he simply opened his own video, wanting to appreciate his "masterpiece."

"Our territory is under threat from barbarians, but I have no intention of giving up the city I built together with you all..."

Sir Morphy’s voice, slightly distorted but filled with the unique gloominess of a vampire without being off-putting, and due to the unique accent and Transylvanian linguistic structure that diverged from modern syntax, made these words sound rhythmical and emphatic.

To accommodate viewers without the Calculating Pearl, Da Saien had thoughtfully added subtitles, in both languages no less.

Next, the screen transitioned from the fading voice-over to a frantic scene of the Jackal-man Vanguard moving massively across the Kaderman River.

This segment was Da Saien’s proud work, captured "at the front lines."

The slight shake of the camera and the quickened breath indicated the real fear and panic in his heart. As his mount approached the jackal army for close reconnaissance, the cry of the Barbarians and their Earth Wolf Cavalry on the makeshift bridge and the gloomy sky made this scene incredibly impactful.
