Chapter 887: 302. Another World’s Heavenly Fire

Handling Cui Si was just an offhand affair for Murphy; as long as he understood the "fallen" lifestyle that the Blood Vulture Duke was currently enjoying, he could easily coax her into doing things she was too lazy to do herself.

This is commonly known as improving "subjective initiative".

However, Cui Si was also a particularly stubborn individual.

If she didn’t want to do something, then no matter how much Murphy urged or pressured her, she wouldn’t lift a finger, a unique habit formed from years of a do-nothing lifestyle. At present, Murphy’s allure was not enough to make the Scarlet Witch change herself more for him.

Fortunately, Cui Si’s current interest in the little players wasn’t any less than in Murphy, so she was quite willing to offer these brave souls whatever help she could reasonably manage.

And incidentally, snag a little "benefit" for herself in the process.

Of course, it might not just be a little, especially since according to the intelligence secretly gleaned by Lady Adel, thanks to the players’ eager "donations," the collection in the Grand Duke of Cui Si’s "private wine cellar" had reached a jaw-dropping size.

There was a rumor that four "Scholars" unearthed a noble’s wine cellar from the ruins below the original Cardman City and presented it to Cui Si. It’s hard to say what the Scholars gained from it, but such cunning behavior tailored to her tastes was obviously going to be rewarded by Cui Si.

Murphy didn’t care about these little matters.

It pleased him to see Cui Si getting along nicely with the little players, since she was now his "Assistant", after all.

The Governor soon returned to his office next door, continuing with whatever he was busy with at the moment.

When Meow Brother came over just now, Murphy was in the midst of drafting the content for the next update. To be precise, it was an overview of the third phase of the mainline quest "Dawn of Transylvania".

In the current situation, releasing quests remained the most effective way for Murphy to interact with his Warriors. It was like a command banner in his hand, always able to make the little players willing to go where Murphy wanted them to go.

The Vampire Lord had decided to shift the player focus from continuous battle to domain construction for the next phase.

In one more month, Transylvania would enter winter, and the residential area of Crimson Castle was already in the final stages of construction; next were the collective farms and the residential areas in the Westerly Territory.

With over four months until the Black Disaster, Murphy planned to spend three months on the early construction of his domain and the excavation and reinforcement of Transylvania’s southern defenses.

In the last month, he would conduct a large-scale military exercise and then naturally advance the story to the second Chapter of the mainline, "Black Disaster", while unlocking the long-promised "Mysterious Expansion: The Enigma of the Dark Mountain Range".

At this point, the three-month-long closed beta would also be successfully concluded. What? Do you think Dog Planner has had a change of heart and is finally going public with the game?

NONONO!

There’s still the destined-to-be-long internal testing, right~

These were all part of the grand plan Murphy had already laid out. Now, with the suggestions of Milian’s administrative team, he needed to break down the grand plan into each phase, adjusting the players’ gaming experience with the shifts in the story to perfectly use the Another World Warriors’ strength and wit where needed.

But today seemed destined to be particularly busy; just as Murphy had finished typing a few hundred words and was about to take a break, there was another knock on his office door.

"Come in."

Lord Murphy stretched his body and looked up to see Count Shuren enter.

This Little Count of the Westerly Territory had been in Crimson Castle for several days, preparing to open an engineering shop in the city. Before the shop was up and running, she set up a stall outside her room in the Blood Vulture Corridor.

The players currently had a keen interest in firearms and engineering items, so in the past few days, Murphy often saw groups of little players gathering to browse and pick through Ellen’s stall.

While it was unclear how much profit Little Sheron had made, judging by her beaming face and brisk walking posture, her "contraband" business was quite likely doing well.

Murphy noticed that Sheron had even hired two eloquent girls, who had some knowledge of engineering, to help her sell her wares.

"Are you settling into life at Crimson Castle, Count Shuren?"

Murphy invited her to sit down with a smile while she, grinning widely, flaunted her completely recovered left hand and said:

"Your city is great, Sir Morphy.

The people here are full of life and very hardworking. Your Warriors are so much fun too. They might not know much about engineering, but it seems everyone has some strange but reasonable insights to share.

I’ve already started trying to make something they suggested called a ’microwave’ and ’shadowless lamps’.

But that’s not what I came to talk to you about.

It’s about my Apprentice, ’Red Loyalty’. He’s completed the ’Another World style’ weapon designs you previously ordered and would like to invite you to receive and review them."

"Hmm? That quick?"

Murphy blinked and rose to his feet, saying:

"But I need more than just one handcrafted prototype weapon; it has no meaning for my domain. What I need is a production line. In my estimate, it should take Loyal Brother at least two months to complete this task."
