But by his side, Lady Cui Si helplessly covered her eyes, knowing that little Mo Fei’s thought processes had entirely morphed into shaping everything around the "gaming experience" of the warriors from Another World.
She guessed that in his eyes, Ellen’s value as a political ally couldn’t even compare to the young girl’s superior knowledge in engineering.
No, the two could not even be mentioned in the same breath.
Lady Cui Si had already figured out how "fulfilling" Ellen’s days would be in Crimson Castle. The "gunners" among the warriors from Another World were driven mad due to the lack of qualified mechanics in the cursed lands of Transia, but Ellen’s arrival almost perfectly filled this gap.
In Murphy’s words, the players were probably going to be "ecstatic."
"Engineering trainer?"
Ellen blinked and said,
"So, it’s a role similar to that of a mentor? You want me to teach the secrets of engineering to your fierce warriors?"
"Yes! I will prepare for you a house that suits your taste... no, no, no, you can design its exterior and internal structure yourself and then have my warriors help you build it.
This will form a unique quest chain."
Murphy was already letting his thoughts wander.
Although he was weak, his mind was exceptionally active. He sat upright in his chair, holding a cup filled with blood, and explained to Ellen, who was being "roped in":
"I’ve always claimed that my warriors come from the highlander regions in the Saxon Region, but this lie is unsustainable in front of real Highlanders like yourselves. Considering that you’ve joined the Blood Vulture Clan and became an important high-ranking official in the Governor’s District of Transia, I must divulge this great secret to you.
My warriors... they come from another Plane!
You know that I am a Stellar Summoner, and my esteemed Lady Cui Si is a spiritual energy genius who is rarely seen in the Blood race. Together, we have developed a spell that summons souls from other Planes to our Material World to fight for us.
This secret is closely tied to the rise of Transia and I hope you can keep it confidential and as a Mountain People leader, provide a credible ’origin’ to my warriors."
"So that’s how it is?"
Ellen’s wide eyes sparkled with the thrill of learning a secret and she said,
"In fact, the Valande Knights had already noticed the movements of your valiant warriors. Especially how bravely they fought when they were near West Cico’s Earldom clearing out the Wolf People, which our scout knights reported back to me.
They are self-claimed Highlanders, but they bear no resemblance to us whatsoever.
I thought these Highlanders came from the East, from Kalem Ancient Country, but who could’ve imagined they actually came from a Different Dimension. Does that mean they never truly die in our Material World?"
"Yes, indeed, it is this attribute that fills them with courage and contempt for death. However, considering they have a complete and complex system of writing and cultural traditions in their own Plane, you may need the Calculating Pearl to communicate with them."
Murphy tossed an activated Calculating Pearl to the little mechanic Sheron, who, familiar with the item, turned it over in her hands and commented dismissively,
"This is Master Flywheel’s work? I could tell at a glance — that madman always likes to add unnecessary decorations to his creations."
"Oh? You know him too?"
Murphy asked, to which little Sheron shook her head and replied,
"The Half-body Mechanic who taught me engineering was once a classmate of Sulk Flywheel. She always stressed to me to stay away from that lunatic.
Unfortunately, my tutor also perished in the catastrophe of West Coker City, alongside my parents... Sigh, it was her who put me in her safe in the last moment, that’s how I survived the plague until Valande and Sunny rescued me."
"Well, my warriors will certainly return to the Ruins of West Coker City."
Murphy said,
"If you wish, you can accompany them when the time comes, or even lead the operation. But for now, let’s discuss your future duties.
As an engineering instructor, you will not only teach my warriors the secrets of engineering but will also help them maintain their firearms and come up with more sophisticated engineering weapons for them to acquire as their next weapons and goods.
West Cico’s Earldom is in ruins and in desperate need of rebuilding, and you need money to revitalize it.
I can supply some of the funds, but you will need to earn more yourself. Believe me, if my warriors see your value, they will be very willing to wave a plethora of Gold Coins to win your favor."
"Wow, that sounds kind of evil."
Little Sheron grinned, tossing the Calculating Pearl in the air, evidently eager to start,
"I can’t wait to get started. By the way, you mentioned earlier that you have reclaimed the production lines that once belonged to West Cobo City from the Cape Family; have you picked out the specific location for the factory?"
"That’s exactly what I wanted to talk to you about."
Murphy exchanged a glance with Lady Cui Si and said,
"I’m planning to build the factory at the confluence of Andma Hills and Count Cadman’s Domain, by the river bend. It’s a flat terrain with ample water power to supply energy to the factory, and most importantly, it’s sparsely populated, allowing us to test some hazardous materials."
