Chapter 824: 281. Yikes yikes yikes~ The second Rich Lolita has entered the scene!

According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, time, this magical thing, can sometimes pass very quickly, especially when one is focused on something, as time always seems to fly.

From this perspective, even if it is only ten seconds, that is quite impressive!

For example, when surrounded by an enemy ten times their number, soldiers in the trenches feel as if each day is a year-long, but when they receive strong support that turns the tide of battle and victory is within sight, the soldiers become excited and throw themselves into the pursuit of the enemy and the chase for victory.

The events at Crimson Castle tonight perfectly illustrated this point.

The militiamen who were hastily summoned to defend the city were particularly valiant in the latter part of the fight.

Even though Governor Miriam repeatedly emphasized that they should not engage in long-distance pursuits to avoid accidents, by dawn, the furthest chasing militiamen, led by Mr. Portman, had driven the fleeing Wolf People to a place not far from Morlan village.

This was nothing less than a minor miracle.

The distance, which would take four or five hours even on horseback, seemed to be nothing to the excited militia, who appeared to feel no fatigue.

The young men, carrying muskets and brandishing combat spears, roared and shouted with flushed faces, like a group of wild men from the forest on a hunt, running their spears through any resisting Wolf People they encountered.

In the past, these terrifying members of the alien race and bandits seemed formidable, but today they were like sheep to the slaughter, as more and more Wolf People simply focused on running away, howling as they desperately sought escape.

Their minds had completely collapsed under the repeated charges of the Winged Cavalry, who descended like divine soldiers.

But this was not their fault; in the past, many lifeforms more steadfast than the Wolf People found themselves in similar dire straits, and Winged Cavalry shouldn’t even appear on a battlefield against Wolf People—it was overkill.

Poor Kenbort simply chose the wrong opponent.

"I don’t know why I used to be afraid of these damned creatures; they are not worth my fear at all!"

A teenager, looking back at the rising sun, said to Mr. Portman, who was riding alongside leading them in the pursuit of the Wolf People:

"We defeated twenty thousand Wolf People in one night, has something like this ever happened before, Uncle Portman?"

"No manners! Call me ’Knight’!"

Mr. Portman, with his distinct Mediterranean hairstyle, huffed.

He was riding on his horse, trying to put on a dignified expression befitting of a knight lord, despite his back aching from the jolting.

Faced with this question from his distant nephew, Mr. Portman thought for a moment and said:

"There should be.

After all, we have withstood four Black Disasters without being defeated, and although I never saw it with my own eyes, my grandfather always repeated to me the scenes from the fourth Black Disaster.

That was much more terrifying than now.

Defeating the Wolf People from Transia is nothing to boast of, lad. The Wolf People from the Dark Mountain Range are much fiercer and more dangerous...

But now is not the time to talk about this, rest a while, we’ll move out later, rest for a few hours at Morlan village then return.

There’s still plenty to be done back in the city."

"Then can I join Lord Maxim’s People’s Army?"

Young Portman excitedly asked:

"Last night, I killed four Wolf People; I think I am already a warrior! I want to join them, to stand alongside those veterans and defend our homeland."

"You wish."

Portman kicked the daydreaming young man with his boot, cursing as he spoke:

"Your parents didn’t hand you over to me to let you go die on a battlefield. I have already arranged for you; in a few days, you’ll roll off to the collective farm to be the militia captain."

As Mr. Portman was lecturing his nephew not to be too ambitious, the Calculating Pearl hanging on his chest suddenly vibrated.

The Mediterranean Knight glared hard at young Portman, grabbing the pearl to answer.

"Knight Portman, the Lord’s new orders have come down. You are near Morlan village, immediately go there and join up with the Witch Hunter militiamen.

Send all the Wolf People you capture along the way to the nearby quarry! Set up a small camp there, and soon, more Wolf People prisoners will be delivered."

Governor Miriam’s solemn voice rose from the Calculating Pearl as she instructed:

"Choose a reliable assistant to temporarily manage the quarry war prisoner camp until a specialist comes to replace you."

"What? Keep Wolf People as prisoners?"

Mr. Portman exclaimed in shock:

"Putting them together is asking for trouble! These creatures will cause chaos once their numbers grow."

"Put them to work, teach them discipline with a whip."

Miriam said:

"Even the most defiant Wolf People will have no energy to cause trouble after a day of stone digging, and besides, it’s the Lord’s order. If you have a complaint, provide feedback first; now, carry out the order.

By the way, only keep those Wolf People who submit as prisoners of war; kill any that resist."

"That’s more like it, this is how we Transia People do things."

Mr. Portman laughed heartily, accepting the order and setting down the pearl. He glanced at his nephew, who was still sulking, and called him over with a twirl of his eye.

"Come here, I have a safe and lucrative task for you, don’t say your uncle doesn’t look out for you anymore."

---

"Let’s go! Together we’ll slaughter the fleeing Wolf People and earn points!"
