Chapter 814: 277. What era are we in, what’s the use of just being able to fight!_3
It wasn’t until another charge, when he could barely stand steady, that he was met with a standard "death from above" dive from Khaki Tontita, roaring from the sky. With the sheer force of the impact, he drove the poisoned blade of his battle axe deep into its shoulder.
This deadly strike marked the end of the BOSS battle!
Kenbort still wanted to stand up, but the lone assassin lurking in the shadows waiting for his chance finally bared his fangs.
Two bone short daggers stolen from the Wolf People warlord flashed as Ya Ya emerged from the shadows, launching a vicious double-thrust that plunged into his throat from both sides, injecting the poison once more.
"Move aside!"
Brother Cat, who had been charging up, shouted.
Frostfang’s Claw, having completed a perfect ambush, kicked off the back of the Wolf People warlord and somersaulted out. The next second, Brother Cat came swinging his battle axe in full circle, and with a thud, like felling a large tree, he buried it deep into Kenbort’s neck.
This beheading strike was full of strength, and the angle of the cut was incredibly precise.
Brother Cat felt almost no resistance as the axe blade sliced through flesh and bone, sending the blood-soaked head flying into the sky, spinning and crashing into the bloody mess of the ground amid a spectacular spray of blood from the severed neck.
This brave kill on the scoreboard instantly gave Brother Cat an extra 150 points, finally widening the gap from the second-place Sister Pomegranate.
"Hehehe."
Happy Stick stepped forward and picked up Kenbort’s head, with its eyes wide in anger. Somewhat disdainfully, he raised it high, eliciting waves of cheers from the surviving players.
They had won!
This dungeon had been rushed!
Although they didn’t manage to get the full three extra treasure chests, the outcome was still pretty good.
This scene also caught the eye of Hog, who had been riding an Earth Wolf adventuring through the Star Realm shadows to check on the situation. The slight Wolf Person watched from afar as those blood-thirsty warriors lifted Kenbort’s head like barbarians and let out zealous battle cheers, which finally eased his mind while simultaneously filling him with an unusual fear of these warriors.
Even Kenbort was no match for them!
He would have to avoid provoking them in any future dealings, as he was nowhere near as strong as Kenbort.
However, witnessing the incredibly brave Kenbort dying like a hunted wild beast in the hands of these warriors also reinforced an idea in Hog’s mind.
Crude and brutish strength is meaningless, only cunning intelligence allows one to live better, just like the starkly different outcomes for himself and Kenbort in this ordeal.
The best way to avoid death is not to wage war...
Without battle, there is no defeat.
"Tch"
Sitting atop his Earth Wolf, Hog let out a disdainful snort, feeling pleased at having witnessed the death of the "noble bloodline" that made this "crippled mongrel" free of any burden. He patted the Earth Wolf’s head, signaling it to carry him away from this chaotic camp forever.
This was an ominous place, and he would not return.
However, not far away, Hog spotted Kenbort’s giant armored Seat Wolf, which had been brought from the Dark Mountain Range. This creature, made incredibly obedient by Kenbort, was now pathetic, with its legs broken by the players, left to whine and wait for death.
"Hey!"
An idea lit up in Hog’s eyes, and he cautiously approached it, taking out some meat and a Healing Potion.
As Chieftain of the Bloodclaw Clan, was it not perfectly normal for him to have a badass mount and War Beast?
"The loot! Look at the loot!"
After Stick Brother stuffed Kenbort’s ugly head into a big bag, he heard the younger players behind him making a commotion about something.
He turned to see Bull Bull picking up the huge bone shield of Kenbort, while Dog Paddle in the North of the Forest gripped that strange yet powerful triple-headed flail.
Next to the Wolf People warlord’s body, Touching Your Poverty was eagerly trying to remove the oddly-shaped beast fang knuckle dusters from the BOSS.
A little further away, Little Wei Ming was retrieving the Clan helmet that had been flung earlier.
"Even though there’s only one BOSS, there’s quite a lot of loot."
Happy Stick commented.
He planned to reassure the younger players and discuss how the loot should be distributed, but before he could say anything, the sound of howling wind came from above. Everyone looked up to see Sir Morphy, who had been "slacking off" from the beginning, descending from the Star Realm shadows, flapping his majestic wings.
But this time, no players mocked Sir Morphy for his "dishonorable acting."
Because Sir Morphy was levitating two treasure chests, one in each hand, with Spiritual Energy.
The elegant and luxurious Weapon Boxes signaled that in addition to the BOSS loot, they had extra treasures to claim.
Who would complain about too much loot?
"Although it was very difficult to get a reward from Kudell, I think this is what you deserve, my warriors, you have once again protected this land and our common cause with your bravery and your own hands."
Sir Morphy placed the two treasure chests in front of the players.
These chests, hastily made at Cui Si’s request, had no extra Attributes; they were simply beautiful and full of the Vampire’s distinctive grandeur.
"Accept our gift with an open heart; it’s a tribute to your courage and noble actions."
Sir Morphy took a step back, making a "please" gesture.
He urged them,
"But you need to distribute the spoils quickly; Crimson Castle is still under siege! The war hasn’t ended yet."
Ps: I miscalculated the bonus Chapters yesterday... I still owe 25 Chapters, not 30, thankfully, otherwise it would be too terrifying.
