Chapter 810: 276. Right? It’s called running a dungeon only if there are drops!_2
"I can understand that you want your warriors to face more challenges."
Under his helmet, Lord Kudel stared at Kenbort, the Baron of Hunting, who used his mimicking skills to respond to Murphy:
"But isn’t it a bit too much to have them challenge an opponent like this, beyond their capabilities? And the way you had Phemys and me withdraw from the battle one after another seems a bit deliberate. I’m starting to have trouble understanding what you’re thinking, Murphy."
"Involvement!
It’s always an essential part of the ritual; I just don’t want to do everything for my warriors and have them merely watch from the sidelines.
That would dampen their enthusiasm and competitive spirit."
Murphy replied:
"If they can get here on their own, then Kenbort’s head is right there for the taking. If they can’t handle the frenzied Wolf People around them and are crushed on the spot, the three of us can take down this dangerous guy.
Lord Kudel, this is a raid as well as a trial.
Now please step aside.
Watch my warriors turn the page to a new Chapter for the common Transylvania we defend with their own hands and blood. They deserve to step into the history that is being made, instead of just being nicknamed ’footmen’."
"Even though you’re trying your best to convince me, I suspect that this reason of yours is also just some spur-of-the-moment nonsense."
A low laugh echoed from beneath Kudel’s helmet.
In the end, he took one last look at Kenbote Bitebone, who was armed with flail and bone shield, lifted his crimson greatsword, and walked away.
This scene completely infuriated King Kenbort.
The Wolf People knew there was no escape today; as a warrior from the Dark Mountain Range, it didn’t fear death, but the opponent’s contempt was something Kenbort couldn’t endure. Was this casual departure because they felt he was unworthy to be their opponent?
"Die!"
Kenbort swung his heavy triple-headed flail toward Kudel, the six-edged hammer heads on the ends of three chains ferociously aimed at Kudel’s head. If he were hit, this arrogant swordsman would surely pay the price.
But amid the rapid flapping of wings, another figure descended from the sky. Bull Bull with his blood-colored giant shield swooped down, shielding Lord Kudel’s behind with a loud bang.
With a thunderous bang, the heavy shield raised blocked the attack of the Wolf People, while Sister Pomegranate, who descended at the same time, used the downward momentum to kick the Wolf Person’s raised bone shield, knocking it back two steps.
To his left and right, they blocked Kenbort’s path. More Blood wings appeared in the darkness, with leaders like Happy Stick and Little Wei Ming from the New Blood Vulture group descending one after another from the sky.
They didn’t carry the same grace and nobility as the legendary Blood Vultures, but the viciousness in their stance as they landed with weapons in hand was extraordinary.
Pair after pair of eyes, glowing blood-red in the night, focused on this boss that was three sizes bigger than the average Wolf People and as big as a Cannibal Demon. The malice and greed radiating from those eyes made the Wolf People feel waves of discomfort.
More players rushed out from the shadows behind, quickly surrounding Kenbort in a ring.
The dark muzzles aimed, weapons smeared with Sword Oil held ready, and the noisy shouting indicated their eagerness and anticipation.
Kenbort was surrounded by these guys.
It could tell that these people weren’t strong; even those who had broken through the Black Iron grade could hardly be called elite, but these guys were different from ordinary Blood Servants and Vampires!
The Wolf Person warlord couldn’t find the words to describe this feeling, but it could sense the unveiled malice and anticipation from these bastards.
To them, it seemed he was just a chunk of meat waiting to be carved up, no... that wasn’t quite right, he was more like a walking treasure, trapped by a pack of treasure hunters with growling bellies on the battlefield.
"Phew, finally caught up!"
Stick Brother glanced at his character interface.
There was no alert for Lord Kudel’s second line of defense being breached, which meant the players kept their additional reward of two chests.
The next thing to do was to take down this Silver Grade Wolf Person, now alone, right here and complete this special team dungeon with only one BOSS.
Stick Brother wasn’t a player who immersed deeply in role-play, so he didn’t have that sense of ritual, instead quite practically and rationally raising his weapon at hand.
It signaled the start of the offense!
"Bang"
Reed was the first to shoot, the shot from the Iron Hammer Guard loaded with a single bullet was weighty, but as it sped toward the target, Kenbort blocked it with its bizarrely shaped bone shield, sending sparks flying.
"Chao! It can react fast enough to keep up with a bullet!"
The dwarf exclaimed in surprise.
But that didn’t matter to the other players.
Bang, bang, bang—gunfire wove a web of fire on the spot, but Kenbort scoffed at the weak attack. It threw an odd skull totem at its feet, invisible power swirling violently into an unseen wall.
It wouldn’t directly block the bullets.
But any bullet or arrow that passed through this enchantment was severely weakened, and even if they hit Kenbort’s body, they could hardly leave a mark.
"!!!"
Stick Brother and Wumeioge’s eyes bulged, and almost simultaneously, they threw recon towards this insufferable boss. The feedback that came back took them by surprise:
