Chapter 793: 270. Here! Take this Spiritual Energy Battle Axe and embrace the glory of battle - 【20/20】_3

"So, we’re all going to die, do you think we won’t dare to resist?"

The skinny little guy muttered while hollowing out a section of the wooden pole he was holding. He then took a look around and pulled a blood-colored crystal stone from his pocket.

The thing was exquisitely fine.

You could even see spiritual energy symbols floating in it like water. This was given to him by Sir Morphy before he left Crimson Castle.

Hog was not a psychic, he didn’t understand complex theories, but he knew this object could bring an apocalypse to Kenbort.

A real apocalypse.

"Heh, heh, heh"

Hog let out the weird, raucous, and treacherous laughter unique to the Wolf People. He then put the crystal stone into the hollowed wooden pole, secured it, and attached the pole to the double-headed axe beside him.

This axe, styled after his clan, was procured from Kenbort’s armory. It was of higher quality than the weapons usually used by the Wolf People. Odd sunflower patterns adorned the surface of the axe, although Hog was unsure who had put them there.

"Chieftain! Nash is here."

A Blood Claw Barbarian soldier called out in a booming voice from the entrance of Hog’s tent. Hog nodded and said,

"Let him come. I have something to discuss with him."

"Okay."

The barbarian responded and left with large strides.

The members of their Bloodclaw Clan were all personally handpicked by Hog. They might not be numerous, but they were sharp-witted. By stealing dried meat and food from the camp’s supply area, the Bloodclaw Clan had a fairly comfortable life recently.

For the Wolf People, loyalty came naturally as long as they were well-fed. A chieftain worthy of their respect was one who could keep them full! If a few females were to accompany them, that would be absolutely perfect.

"Hog, I’m here."

The wolf man Nash walked over with a pompous stride. He had taken over Hog’s previous position in the clan and was in high spirits, strutting around with an air of importance.

Nash, unlike the skinny Hog, was a standard Jackal Barbarian - crude enough, fierce enough - thus he quickly merged into the sycophantic underlings of Kenbort and was even highly valued.

He had very little contact with Hog recently, which clearly implied something.

"Here, this is a superb axe I have procured from the armory officer. I have heard that you have been assigned to guard patrol for the king’s camp. What a great opportunity! If you hold this axe, I’m sure the others will fear you more."

Hog handed over the towering double-headed axe to Nash. Although not the flail preferred by the Wolf People, it was mighty enough to please Nash immensely.

Hog laughed slyly and said,

"You are highly valued by King Kenbort. That’s good. Remember your old brothers when you rise to the top. Speaking of which, Nash, I never asked you—what are your future plans?"

"Huh?"

The future has always been a luxury to the Wolf People.

They usually live in the present and ponder over the next day only when it comes. Taken aback by Hog’s sudden question, Nash replied after a moment of bewilderment,

"Of course, I’ll follow King Kenbort and give everything for the Wolf People’s cause to conquer the continent! I heard the king is planning to plunder the Kato area next. You can count on me, Hog."

Nash slapped Hog’s shoulder with nonchalant, comforting words, just like an elder brother reassuring a younger one.

"I remember your kindness when you saved me from the gladiator arena. Surely, I will take care of you."

"That would be grand," Hog sighed,

I wish I was as strong as you. Anyway, brother, take up your battle axe and obey King Kenbort’s orders. Go, embrace the glory of battle.

Us old brothers will bless you."

"Thanks."

Nash laughed heartily and left without any kind of ceremony, carrying the axe. The Jackal Barbarian soldiers who had escaped the Crimson Castle with him spat disdainfully on the ground.

Clearly, Nash’s arrogance had earned him their loathing.

But not Hog’s.

Not only did he not show disgust, his eyes even revealed a sense of relief.

Truth be told, if Nash had any gratitude left for old times, he might not have had the heart to proceed with his plan.

You, you there, come here!"

Hog walked back to his tent.

On the way, he passed by a small Jackal guy who was feeding the earth wolves. The little guy seemed quite likeable, so Hog summoned him over.

He eyed the small Jackal up and down, and asked,

"What’s your name?"

"Ah, Chief...I am...I am called Little Bone."

This smaller Jackal also had sly eyes like Hog’s. While responding, his eyes were darting around as if he was trying to flatter Hog.

"No, you’re not Little Bone!"

Hog patted the little Jackal’s shoulder, imitating the manner in which Sir Morphy had changed his name. His voice was so gentle he didn’t sound like a wolf man at all.

He whispered,

"From today onwards, you will be called Nash...got it?"
