Chapter 758: 259. Wolf Poison’s Suicide Squad is Charging - More Updates for "Huo is Pretty Good" Brother【9/20】_1
"I’m giving you five hundred men! Colando, I just hope you do not waste my warriors’ blood for nothing!"
Three nights later, at the wolf people’s camp, Kenbort, the warlord, was proudly astride his robust giant armoured earthwolf. He addressed the leader of the Wolf Poison Clan, who was preparing to launch a surprise attack on Crimson Castle:
"Although the time for parting has come, it must be said that working with you has been ... delightful."
"Cut the crap!"
Colando, who was dressed in black armour, was too lazy to even pretend, he taunted the wolf man warlord in a sarcastic tone:
"Your expression couldn’t disguise the look of being rid of a plague, there’s no pleasure to speak of in this collaboration between us. Basically, it feels mutual dislike, which is something of a relief for me. We have no obligations to each other after this, Kembort.
I just wanted to reiterate, if we do take down Crimson Castle..."
"Ah, I’ll instantly turn tail with my big army towards the Kato area."
Kenbort let out an eerily wicked laugh from atop his earthwolf, he continued:
"I won’t continue my assault on a city that now belongs to you - that is our ’promise,’ hee hee hee. However, the other warlords of the Bonebite Clan may not be as amenable as I am. And so, my final suggestion for you is to take some time to consider how to better your relationship with my clan, my ’friend.’
Soon you will know who can save you in the face of the Black Disaster!
Haha, enough said, it’s nightfall, you should set off. According to our wolf people tradition, we should offer you a farewell cup of wine at this time, but given our strong liquour is probably not to your taste -- so, good luck, my ’friend’ under the midnight sky."
In response to the wolf man warlord’s insincerity, the Wolf Poison vampires didn’t even bother responding. They got on their summoned Star Realm Wolves and headed into the disturbingly noisy night.
The five hundred jackal barbarians allocated to them also followed on their earthwolves.
Kenbort did keep his word this time, it really did pick five hundred strong barbarians to give to Colando.
These few people meant nothing to the enormous army under its command now. Moreover, these were just some locally recruited Transylvanian underdogs. If their lives could help Wolf Poison Clan succeed in raiding Crimson Castle, it would have given 5,000, never mind 500!
It was a win-win for Kenbort. But Colando’s imperious attitude irritated Kenbort. So, 500 was enough. After all, these scumbags were going to be cannon fodder... Did they actually think he would spare them?
Ridiculous!
Having obtained the Wolf Poison Clan’s defense map of the Kato area, Kenbort was more eager than ever.
Compared with the barren and unprofitable Transylvania, the affluent Kato area was more of a juicy steak. As long as it could lead an invasion there, not only would it acquire a vast amount of military supplies, but it would also earn immense prestige within the Bonebite Clan.
By then, it could rightfully demand more elite support from Moss Valley, sweep its hand across and grub Transylvania as well!
That was the real power behind its ambition.
As for these Transylvanian wolf people, tsk, thin-bodied, weak-willed, just good enough to be cannon fodder. The idea of accomplishing anything significant with them was laughable.
In this respect, Kenbort and Colando were indeed well-matched partners, as both wanted pretty much the same things.
"Master, these Wolf Poison brats might not be able to take Crimson Castle."
Just as Kenbort was pondering these issues alone, Hog, the "lucky dog" who had cheated death twice, came up and whispered:
"They clearly underestimate their Vulture Vampire fellows. They might be in for a nasty surprise, but this is an opportunity! If Crimson Castle is thrown into chaos by tonight’s raid, your large army can..."
"You’re just scared of Vulture Vampires, poor Hog, your courage is as small as your stature."
Kenbort sneered at Hog’s tone.
He glanced at Hog.
While the fella did have good luck and brains on his side, he was just an underdog, and worse still, had a noble bloodline from Moss Valley.
Kenbort found this mix of noble and lowly blood abominable!
It saw Hog as a representative of disgrace. But the problem lay in that it couldn’t break its promise in front of their kinsmen. It had promised Hog a reward if he returned alive.
Ah, those Wolf Poison scum couldn’t even get this simple task done! Getting rid of this disabled scum should have been as easy as waving a sword, why did they have to bring him back to irritate him?
"I understand you’re worried about my conquest, and I see your loyalty. But I’ll make the decisions. Go get your reward, Hog. Go pick out your former clansmen. I permit you to rebuild your own clan and join the elite forces in the camp."
"Thank you for your generosity, master!"
Hog looks very pleased.
Bowing low, he respectfully left Kenbort’s side, even as his return to the Bloodclaw Clan drew scornful looks from the other wolf people.
During the two days when he had gone out on the "mission," Hog’s task was well accomplished by Nash. He didn’t blindly recruit a bunch of biggut wolf people to pad the numbers. On the contrary, more than a hundred wolf people of the Bloodclaw Clan were pretty crafty fellows.
