Chapter 697: 238. The Bud of Legion Warfare_3
"Bang!"
The projectile shot out and hit the chest armor of the barbarian leader, causing him to stumble and fall over. Arrows went flying into the air in confusion, but Stick Brother had already ascended to a height where the gusts from his flapping wings effortlessly knocked down the harmless arrows.
The barbarian leader wasn’t dead, just stained with blood, not even mortally wounded.
But he had no chance to save his subordinates anymore!
"Third team! Throw!"
Stick Brother shouted into his team communicator, where all the third team members were new players.
They had low levels and ordinary equipment, but they remembered their orders.
Although two of them got so excited that they lit their bombs and threw them without counting, the remaining eight all silently counted to three in their heads before throwing their round bombs into the crowd of over thirty wolf people.
The bombs exploded upon hitting the ground, instantly blasting four or five unlucky individuals into the air. Immediately after, the first team members reformed their ranks and counterattacked, close-range fighters from the second team killed from all directions under the guidance of the piercing war horn.
In a matter of minutes, more than thirty wolf people were cut down and Stick Brother’s battle group remained unhurt.
This medium-sized camp only had fifty or sixty wolf people. With half immediately wiped out in one attack, their morale collapsed. Despite the furious shouting and yelling of a few barbarian leaders and their chieftain, they could not reverse the hopeless situation.
The battle had already reached a stage where it was unlikely to experience any more waves.
After successfully commanding this incursion, Stick Brother heaved a sigh of relief. He waved from the air, and 40 new soldiers of the Cadman People’s Army, who had been pre-positioned in the woods behind the camp, finally received the order to attack. Joined by the players, they began to pincer the scattering wolf people.
As for the elite leader and a few elite barbarian leaders, they naturally became the prey of Stick Brother and his Tiger Leopard Riders.
They replaced their weapons with bludgeons and took to the field intending to capture those elites alive to be sold to fight clubs for money.
An elite barbarian was worth 50 gold coins, an elite spell caster was worth 70. These were great ways to earn extra money. An ordinary wolf person of the Black Iron rank also fetched a price, but just 2 gold coins each, focusing on quantity rather than quality.
After all, those sent to the gladiatorial arena were just cannon fodder to warm up the scene.
In these five days, just by selling elite creatures, Stick Brother had earned a thousand or so gold coins. Although he had to divide them among his team members, he still felt that war was indeed the most profitable business.
"Stick Brother! I’m level 10 now, leave a tough elite for me to pass the trial!"
A player in the crowd shouted.
This guy was rather conspicuous. His large bald head and his weirdly shaped great knife strapped to his back made him look formidable. The awkward thing was his strength wasn’t adequate yet to wield it. Therefore, it could only serve as a \"fitness item\" strapped to his back.
Alright.
This happened to be the Little Freak "Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle" who Stick Brother had previously encountered.
The guy was indeed a little freak.
But he was indeed gifted in fighting and even had the good fortune to receive a hidden task, turning into a rare martial monk from Lord Kudell. He had quickly become one of the fastest levelling players among the 70-strong group.
"Give him some decent armor. Shark Uncle’s current equipment is clearly inadequate against the attacks of an elite wolf barbarian."
Stick Brother descended, flapping his wings. He turned to Tiger Leopard Riders Lin at his side and said.
The latter nodded, running over and giving the Veteran’s armor he had previously used to Shark Uncle. Shark Uncle gratefully accepted, and the players formed a circle to watch his duel with a beaten-up elite wolf barbarian.
Stick Brother wasn’t that interested in such "simple combat" anymore.
He was more interested in whether there were any spoils in this camp that could quickly make him "rich and powerful".
As a team leader, his goal was to equip all his 30 team members with Veteran’s armor and weapons when the next phase of the Wolf People extermination war started. If possible, he would like his carefully selected team members to pass the Black Iron trials as soon as possible.
"Stick Brother, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you."
Just as Stick Brother was waiting to check the spoils, a request popped up in his communicator. It was from Lumina from the sister squad. After he accepted the call, he heard Lumina say:
"We found a large wolf people nest over here. It’s taken over a small hill. Bull Bull and Sister Pomegranate went in to scout and there are at least 400 wolf people inside! This must be the largest band of brigands in Dark Baron’s territory.
The Blood Rat Gang has even issued a bounty on this gang’s leader and elite members.
We can’t handle this target on our own. Would you be interested in joining us?"
"Sure! I’m flattered that you girls think highly of me. Of course, I’ll help!"
Stick Brother laughed heartily, then changed his tone, saying:
"But I want forty percent of the profits!"
"We’ll give you twenty percent since we’re not just asking for your help."
Lumina haggled:
"Sister Pomegranate got Maxim to lend us some men, we have to pay for that too. Twenty percent is the limit."
"Thirty percent!"
Stick Brother agreed instantly, saying:
"And I want the right to first pick on the spoils! If you agree to that, my men and I will head over now. Along with Brother Cat and his group, I have fifteen Black Iron..."
"Roar! I knew it! I, Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle, am a genius of the century!"
A loud coarse voice interrupted Stick Brother’s words. He turned back and glancing, then grinned and said:
"Now I have sixteen Black Iron Warriors. I believe we’re worth the price! Don’t you think?"
