Chapter 682: 233. The Young Lady’s Super Evolution! [Request for Monthly Tickets 8/10]_3

This means that the full potential of the vampire race has been unlocked, and the bigger the wings, the better they are, and not just for looks.

Increased flight speed will allow the children of the Blood Vulture to enter a new phase of controlling the sky, even enough to change their past combat methods.

Like now.

The young lady crossed a large forest in less than a minute and arrived above the battlefield.

She reached back into her psychic bag and pulled out a Blood Race Battle Staff, intertwined with silver and red colors, engraved with a unique gargoyle motif at the top, and adorned with a spiked spearhead at the end, a gift Lord Pa Ying rewarded her with in a previous inquisition.

Named "Night Howl", this exquisite masterclass weapon is a divine weapon bestowed on the lord during his "youth" by an elven craftsman.

The craftsmanship and quality of the weapon are absolutely on par with the "Nocturne" insignia in Cui Si’s hand, perhaps a reprieve from the lord towards Phemys.

After all, according to the tradition of the blood race, the position of the Blood Vulture Duke should be hers.

As soon as she took it out, a swirling aura of the Blood Spirit spread from the top of the staff, dyeing half of the night sky in a blood-red light show. Just like the red coordinates of a laser pointer hit from the sky, she threw an expansive range of psychic bindings into the forest below in an elegant wave.

In the dark forest, Count Andrei and his faithful servant Vista had been trapped in a clearing in the forest, while other Thorn Clan servants were being repeatedly bombarded by a winged cavalry unit on the perimeter.

These legendary defenders of Westerburg, riding their armored steeds, launched fierce and sharp charges with near-impossible agility in a woodland terrain that was not fit for cavalry warfare.

The surrounding forest did not hinder their high-speed movements at all, as if the forest itself was protecting them.

This was no illusion!

This stretch of forest signifies the sacred grounds of the mountain people and the Ice Bay barbarians, and the winged cavalry of Westerburg happen to be descendants of the two, these knights in armor stand over two meters tall, their most distinctive feature being the peculiar "wings" ornamenting their robust armor, appearing rather like a variety of armor decoration.

However, in this world where spiritual energy exists, the wings of the cavalry were not simply for show.

During their charging process, the "wings" on the back of their armor would spread out flat, creating a howling wind while stabilizing their charging posture and enhancing the power of their strike. If necessary, they could even expand their psychic shields to protect the knights.

In other words, the essence of the Xico Wing Cavalry is a group of heavy cavalry fortified with psychic energy, they represent the highest level of military might possible to be birthed from the land of Transylvania.

The battle formations of the armed Blood Servants of the Blood Vulture Clan stood no chance against the charges of the Wing Cavalry and were wiped out with ease. Even the tactically-gifted General Loren suffered greatly from these winged soldiers and had to resort to using, what is regarded even amongst the dwarfs as highly disgraceful, plague weapons to destroy Westerburg in the war two years ago.

Would the honor-bound dwarfs truly stoop so low as to poison their enemies to death with the plague?

No!

If there was a choice, they would never resort to such malicious and dishonorable tactics.

But they didn’t have a choice, did they?

After all, even the combined forces of the arrogant psychics from Circle Tower casting Wall spells and constant cannon bombardment couldn’t withstand the rapid, reckless charges of the Wing Cavalry across the battlefield, so what else could a half-sized dwarf like Loren do?

Shifting back to the present, the psychic binding imposed by the young lady happened just in time.

As soon as the crimson light was cast on the earth, it was akin to creating a quagmire, causing the seemingly unstoppable momentum of the heavy cavalry squadron to be caught in a mire, slowing them down significantly and allowing the Thorn Clan’s tenuous defense line to stabilize again.

Seeing a gathering of even more Vulture Vampires in the darkness, the commander of the Wing Cavalry squadron made a split-second decision to blow the whistle and command the twelve cavalrymen to execute a quick turn maneuver with expert horsemanship and disappear into the woods, in the blink of an eye, they vanished into the woods.

Their agility, comparable to light cavalry, despite being heavy cavalry, was absolutely breathtaking.

However, the young lady had already put a psychic mark on one of the cavaly, and ignoring the words of thanks from Count Bai of White Mountain below, she patted her wings and like the wind rushed into the woods, quickly tracking the enemy and quickly catching up with the marked knight in a mountain depression.

Without a second word, the latter set up his jousting lance and prepared to attack the young lady.

But she could fly , how could a knight, no matter how powerful, defy the laws of physics to charge into the sky?

Clearly, that was not possible.

"Don’t fight like a cornered beast, I didn’t come to take your life!"

The young lady flapped her huge wings and hovered above the mountain, she said coldly:

"I bring the goodwill of Count Cardman, I want to talk to your leader, for the sake of your life, dismount now! I guarantee to give you treatment that befits your status..."

"For the sake of your life, put down your weapons now! Female vampire! We guarantee to give you treatment that befits your status."

Another deep voice resounded from the woods, filled with coldness and killing intent.

The young lady abruptly looked back, only to find more than thirty Wing Cavalry, under the command of a particularly tall figure, silently emerging from the surrounding woods, among them were two psychic knights wielding steel staffs shaped like war spears.

At the same time, they cast spells to call upon the psychic forces of the woods, repeating the same scene as in the Smugglers’ Forest, blocking the sky and trapping the young lady inside the forest.

So it was a trap?

It turned out she was the one hunted, even though she was confident?

"I hate forests!"

She muttered softly.

The Night Howl in her hand made a turn and was grasped by both hands. The aura of the Blood Spirit spread out constantly, plunging the young lady into a real battle state.

She was no longer the little girl who would cry at the sight of an old knight. During her time fighting side by side with the Blood Alliance knights, she had learned how to deal with situations like this.

Moreover, Lord Pa Ying had taught her how to use another kind of power within her...

"Creak, creak, creak"

In the strange noises, blood-red vines extended from the shadows of the woods around her like giant snakes, casting a lingering crimson hue in the moonlight at dawn. Everything became hazy as the eerie spectacle made the horses of the Wing Cavalry whinny uneasily.

"I’ll say it once more!"

The light of the Blood Spirit glowed brightly in Phemys’s eyes as she said with flying hair:

"Surrender! Knights, your Lord, Sir Morphy, wants to have a word with you! I came as his messenger, carrying his goodwill and wielding the power of midnight in my hands.

I am standing with open arms.

Want to continue the war that has ravaged us all already? Or win peace for yourselves, a peace you didn’t want but very much need?

Now, make your choices!"
