Chapter 396: 138. Night Visit to the Vampire_1
At the 16th hour of the players going offline, Murphy was preparing for tomorrow’s morning conference topics in the Blood Eagle Corridor.
He had to construct the system architecture in his territory before the players came back online. At this moment, he was incredibly glad to be a "boss", having professionals like Miss Milian to assist him, otherwise, having to experience everything personally, Murphy reckoned he would be driven insane.
Another important issue was the shadow of the Star Realm which had reappeared over the ruins of the inner city above the Blood Eagle Corridor.
The tainted Spiritual Energies gushing from the Wound of the Star Realm in the sky were not as aggressive as before, but they had indeed formed a "Black Mist Area" in the entirely wiped out inner city.
It wasn’t hard to imagine that with the progression of time, the threats in the inner city area would no longer be just low-level Despair Monsters. More and more Star Realm creatures would cross over into the inner city of Cardman due to the Wound of the Star Realm in the sky that would take at least a decade to heal, so Murphy planned to completely isolate the inner city.
A massive rift in the city happened to divide the city into two, so the establishment of a new city could be expanded outwards based on the outer city.
As for the inner city, it would serve as a good activity area for the players, who were not afraid of too many monsters, especially for new players, the more Despair Monsters, the better.
Thus, the Blood Eagle Corridor existing as a "newbie area" would also come with a "monster spawn point".
There couldn’t be anything more perfect.
The newly appointed Blood Vulture Duke had begun to "work", or rather, to continue living in a careless enjoyment in the Blood Eagle Corridor.
There were very few members left of the Blood Vulture Clan for the Grand Duke of Cui Si which meant very few matters worthy of her personal attention, so she devoted herself to her second "duty".
That was as Sir Morphy Cardman’s private Spiritual Energy consultant and domesticated alchemist.
Her last creation was the "Assembly Stone," used to support the mechanism of the dungeon snapshot. Morphy planned to test this new thing’s effectiveness after the players logged in.
Meanwhile, Lord Cardman was in his dwelling in the Blood Eagle Corridor sorting out the conference points when he heard a knock on the door. Subsequently, his housekeeper, Lady Adel, came in and reported:
"Master Murphy, you have a visitor."
"Oh?"
As Murphy leaned over his desk writing, he asked without raising his head:
"I’m really curious as to who the unlucky soul would visit our barren ruins of a territory at this moment?"
"It’s Miss Natalie."
Lady Adel said with a peculiar tone:
"Her Huntress squad came to the survivor camp to pick up Major Fraser then leave, but she herself wanted to visit the Lord here, which is you. I declined, after all, there’s really not much to discuss between vampires and Huntresses.
But she insisted on meeting you, saying it is for the sake of Mr. Old Feinock."
"Tsk."
Murphy clicked his tongue, straightened his body to ponder for a moment and nodded to Lady Adel:
"Then let her come in.
The last White Knight in the world pushed the chaotic will of the subspace into the Star Realm by sacrificing himself, theoretically speaking, he is the savior of us all. All the lives of the Transylvania region should respect him for this.
He will become the new legend of this land, and his daughter will receive special treatment because of this."
"Master, this may be a bit risky."
Adel emphasized:
"Miss Natalie has established some connections with the Oak Holy Blade. If she suddenly becomes violent..."
"It’s okay, I also have the protection of the holy relic from midnight. Besides, isn’t our mighty and distinguished Grand Duke of Cui Si next door?"
Murphy got up and patted the Desire Demon Blade on his waist
The Necessary Evil in his hand was nothing like the vibrant one in Salockdale’s hands.
If you had to make a comparison, it was like a dying eel, only vibrating when Murphy patted it, radiating the lethargy of a severely wounded being, intimidating like an old man, with no deterrent effect whatsoever.
"Err, that’s also the second thing I need to report to you."
Lady Adel reported in a helpless voice:
"Just now, the Grand Duke insisted that I pay her this year’s stipend in advance, to send merchants from the camp to trade with merchants from the Ice Bay area for a variety of spirits. She insists that this is for creating a certain kind of secret alchemy item for you, but I have never heard of an elixir that requires a thirty-years-old spirit as a base for its formulation.
I refused the Grand Duke’s absurd request."
"Hmm, you’ve done very well. That’s what should be expected of the keeper of the Blood Vulture Clan’s treasury and the family’s chief steward."
Morphy nodded in approval:
"Keep up your stern image, Adel. As for Cui Si’s untimely indulgence, my warriors will surely be willing to help her solve it in various ways once they return."
"Very well, Master. So, I will take my leave now."
Lady Adel bowed to Murphy in a flawless manner before retiring then after a few minutes, the fully armed Grey-haired Demon Huntress, Miss Natalie, came in through the door.
Her attire was quite peculiar.
Old Feinock’s Oak Holy Blade Guardian was slung across her back.
That Elven Greatsword was taller than her and looked quite visually striking. Also, she had a long and a short silver exotic saber on her waist, modelled on the Holy Blades.
