Chapter 298: 105. Make sure to pass the SC before challenging the BOSS, if you can’t then you will be finished oh【45/60】_2

In front of that final door, they found Murphy and old Finoc.

Both NPC bosses were visibly battle-worn.

The old knight’s white oak armor bore black corrosion marks, and Murphy’s cloak was tattered. The usually dignified Murphy now was sitting on a chair, panting heavily. His Blade of Yi continued to drip strange black blood.

Just thirty minutes prior, Murphy and old Finoc had jointly wiped out the last dozen clan leaders led astray by subspace. They were genuine silver grade, powerful individuals like Jed, who had succumb to Murphy’s sneak attack due to their mental disorientation and the corrosion and weakness of their blood origin.

Shamefully, of the fifteen foes, the formidable old knight had taken care of thirteen, leaving Murphy to handle only two and left in a sorry state afterward.

That Murphy was just too weak!

However, considering his current level, his performance was already decent, plus the "Proof of the Warrior" had ignited successfully.

"You have finally arrived, my warriors."

Murphy opened his eyes, and stood up with the help of Maxim, Lady Adel and her guards, turning his gaze towards his warriors.

Out of the initial 60, only 39 were left. This demonstrated the intensity of the battle.

However, the players who had survived the brutal battles till now were the most elite in Murphy’s team. He had high confidence in them, even though the enemy they were about to face was overwhelmingly powerful.

"The final battle is upon us! I need you to accompany my mistresses to the pool of holy blood."

Murphy’s solemn voice echoed:

"The mistresses shall sever the link between Salockdale and the blood pool. Only after completing this task will Cui Si be able to implement the adventure plan of exiling the chaotic force to the star realm. Finoc and I have cleared for you the last obstacle."

We’ve just discovered that as soon as you approach the polluted holy blood pool, evil spirits from the subspace will burst out. They don’t want to see their possibilities to set foot in the material world to be extinguished by us."

But that’s exactly what we need to do.

You need to establish a defensive line around the holy blood pool and hold on to the very end.

It’s hard!

Almost like sending you to death, but we have to do it!

For the territory we’ve worked so hard to get, for the future we’ve sworn to establish, for the grand scheme we’ve started!

This time, I will fight alongside all of you until the end!

Either win all, or all fall into hell."

Murphy’s NPC monologue, full of determination, reverberated amongst the players. Not everyone was like Lumina who loved in-depth role-play and sympathized with NPCs, but they had been together for over ten days, and under Murphy’s guidance, had defeated one enemy after another, and solved one problem after the other.

At this moment, even the most rational Happy Stick couldn’t help but grip his gun tightly, upon seeing the determination of their NPC, willing to die for the cause. Of course, Stick Brother, being the wise one, would definitely not be swayed by a few words.

What he cared more about was whether their hard-earned game progress would vanish if the main-line NPC died.

Could he bear that?

"You will not die here! We won’t let you die here!"

The most dramatic amongst them, Ayu, stepped forward. Like a knight declaring an oath in a movie, he raised his veteran’s sword and shouted:

"Victory to Murphy! Victory to Transylvania!"

But, contrary to his expectations, others did not join him in his declaration. Ayu turned around to find everyone staring at him as if he was a fool.

"Damn! Come on, cooperate a little! I’m recording this."

Ayu shouted, prompting sporadic echoing calls in response from the crowd, even a half-hearted wave of his magic wand by Wumeioge.

The wily ones were more focused on the half-open door before them.

Malicious air seeped out making the Oak Apprentice feel an odd sensation of his heart being gripped.

He tentatively stretched out his hand to push the wooden door slightly forward and peered inside. His eyes met a dark energy vortex adorned with faint purple points, hovering over the crimson holy pool.

It had already materialized in the physical world.

The constant, regular rotation was like a dark singularity opened in the physical world, like an ominous eye about to swallow all the light.

Wumeioge instantly found the vortex riveting; he felt his spirit was being sucked into it.

Very soon, his world started to warp.

In the darkness, strange smoke and ghostly shadows appeared and disappeared, and it seemed that terrifying spectral bodies were floating in those invisible places, watching him coldly. It was as if a thousand voices were creating an echo in his mind, speaking in a language he couldn’t comprehend.

He wanted to see more of the reality there.

He wanted to hear the calls proclaiming the truth.

He also desired to swim freely in the warm, peaceful, elegant and noisy sea of dark stars in front of him, to dog paddle.

Wumeioge’s eyes started to go blank, as if his spirit and will were being extracted from this body and cast into an unknown domain. As this was happening, the gaming helmet of his counterpart in another world, lying in bed, started issuing a sharp alarm.

The connection program had started a disconnection countdown.

"What are you doing?"
