Chapter 1586: 533. Lumina’s Blissful Land
The Vampire Governor knew his vanguard had already approached the Dark Valley. He was supposed to go and join them to serve as the quest NPC for stepping onto the "new map," but after accidentally spotting the ancient carvings of the Goatman tribe, Murphy changed his mind.
Theoretically, the area before entering the Blackflame Mountain Pass was not officially part of the Dark Mountain Range, the new "Black Disaster DLC" map. The area where players currently resided was still considered a "safe zone," and they were completing a side quest to locate the Dark Valley as the final step to leave the beginner’s village.
As a stylish mainline NPC, he had to keep his composure, only appearing suddenly to give players a moderate surprise when they needed him most!
Thus, after pondering for a moment, Murphy decisively continued his "explorer" career.
He sent Reveno to monitor the desolate surface and the situation in the Dark Valley, while he himself searched for traces of the Goatman’s activities in Baphomet Canyon, embarking on his quest to find the legendary underground palace.
Although it was Murphy’s first time venturing into this desolate new region, he wouldn’t roam aimlessly like a newbie. That would be too uncool. Instead, he decisively called for "external assistance" to help him unlock the unknown map.
The Star Realm fissure quietly opened under the activation of the Mannerism Device. Accompanied by a low and menacing growl, the Astral Lone Wolf George, looking fiercer than ever, limped out with steps still recovering from his grievous injuries, summoned by Murphy from the ancestral forest lands.
Poor George had been exiled by his wolves and dared not return to the Star Realm. Left with no choice, he imitated animals of the material world, desperately searching for a den in the wilderness.
The good news was that George, now the alpha wolf, relied on his extraordinary physical prowess not only to effortlessly scare off the largest pack of forest wolves in the ancestral forest, seizing their den to make himself a cozy nest, but also managed to secure a few female wolves to "keep his bed warm."
The bad news was that George still had much to learn in adapting to the "rules of beasts" needed for living in the material world.
As a Star Realm creature, George could not stay long in the material world, as the energy corrosion between different planes would weaken him. But now that he had a physical form, he could attempt to breed his own "unique wolf pack" within Transylvania.
The hybrid offspring of the Star Realm creatures and material world beasts would inherit more ferocious strength and remarkable talents than ordinary wolf packs, adding an exciting twist to the overly simple "monster catalogue" of Transylvania.
Murphy was even planning to create some "ghost beast" legends in his territory to attract hunter players.
Moreover, as a responsible owner, Murphy had already entrusted the Endless Manis with pinpointing a remote but safe area in the Star Realm, a place unthreatened by the tyrannical Silver Wolf packs, for George to settle in. Once George persevered through this tough period, he could return to the Star Realm to establish his own wolf pack.
Although 60% of the Star Realm wolves were under Silver Wolf Herson’s rule, with a group so populous, there were bound to be some "born rebels" to exploit.
George had been in a foul mood lately, with a melancholic air of a young wolf far from home. But with Murphy’s comforting guidance—along with getting battered by Reveno daily—the wolf gradually accepted his miserable situation and began to improve.
"Come on, fulfill your duty as a beast now," Murphy said.
Pointing at the desolate land around them, he instructed George, who sniffed around left and right:
"Find the Goatman’s underground palace entrance! Maybe a hunt will lift your mood. The Endless One is already helping you look for new territory, so get ready to formally oppose Herson’s tyranny!"
"Aoowu!"
George let out a low growl.
The scars from his wounded eyes left striking marks on his face. As the scars healed, they weren’t outright ugly—in Murphy’s opinion, they lent his Astral Wolf a touch of a "story element."
However, George muttered in the Star Realm wolf dialect, which Murphy could fully understand.
Granted the ability to speak "Beast Language" by Avalon, Murphy angrily kicked George’s rear and scolded:
"What do you mean I dragged you down? You jerk! When you were relying on me to gorge on all sorts of goodies and boost your power, why didn’t you say that? Now that you’re down and out, you push the blame onto me? Get your facts straight, will you?
Your master here got implicated by that scoundrel Manis too, okay?
Who knows why that guy is so unpopular in the Star Realm?
Enough complaints. Start searching! The Second Lord of the Blood Covenant Knight Order is still waiting for me to discuss business—I can’t be stuck here too long."
"Filthy-mouth George" let out another particularly unclean snarl, reluctantly fulfilling his role as a "search dog." The Astral Wolf’s keen sense of smell proved immensely useful, quickly identifying traces left by the Goatman and leading Murphy across the crimson wasteland of Baphomet Valley.
The vampire spread his wings, flying in the desolate night while following his canine companion southwest. Simultaneously, he activated the quantum communication system in his Creator’s Battle Armor, connecting to Triss’ frequency to inform his most trusted "strategist girlfriend" about his recent discoveries.
Busy in the alchemy lab, refining the "Decision Wine" formula, Triss deftly concocted potions while absentmindedly responding:
