Chapter 1422: 479. Unlucky Guy’s Final Moments of Tearing Flesh_3
"I have to say, this land is truly magical."
---
"How did you get yourself into this mess?"
On the outskirts of the Swamp Forbidden Area, Murphy quickly met up with Triss flying over from Crimson Castle, her massive blood wings reminiscent of a dragon’s, making Murphy seem as fragile as a chick.
Faced with Triss’s concern, caring, and reprimand, Murphy didn’t explain much, only briefly mentioned the affairs of Plague Town.
Finally, he said:
"I feel that the oppression from the Golden Tier isn’t as great as I imagined..."
"Why don’t we practice here then? Let me show you personally how far your strength is from a true Golden Tier!"
Triss, both angry and scared, crossed her arms and scolded Murphy:
"The King of Bone Biting was desecrated and resurrected, which means its bones can’t even unleash half of their power. Moreover, from what you say, I know the soul summoned back from the Netherworld isn’t inside the bones of the King of Bone Biting; you were merely battling its shell.
It’s like facing a mindless, dead beast.
In such a state, despite the King of Bone Biting possessing the power of a Golden Tier, its actual combat ability has been drastically reduced. I suspect it has lost even its legendary characteristics and transcendental powers.
Not just Kudell, even Phemys could probably defeat it after some sacrifices.
Murphy, I’m not trying to undermine your confidence; I’m just trying to state a fact.
Your stalemate and escape from death today were merely accidental!
You can’t keep relying on luck for your survival; more importantly, I hope you won’t seek out battles with Golden Tier enemies as you did today.
You should clearly understand the limit of enemies you can currently confront and not recklessly pursue a pointless victory. I was scared to death just now, did you know?"
"I understand, I’ve worried my darling."
Murphy stepped forward and kissed Triss on her pouting, angry face, softly promising:
"I promise this is the last time. Indeed your words prove right; just improving my swordsmanship isn’t enough to face those dangerous beings.
I must focus my energy on studying and utilizing summoning techniques.
But now, we have another task at hand."
He pointed towards the calm shadows deep in the swamp, saying:
"Previously, the students found some very ’strange’ things here, that seem very odd even to me. Now that the Giant Snake has been lured away, we might take this opportunity to delve deeper into exploration.
Moreover, the Jackal Warlock Tear Flesh who was supposed to be in Plague Town has escaped; no one knows where it went, but I have a feeling that it’s nearby!
It retrieved the remains of the King of Bone Biting.
Maybe during this process, Tear Flesh also stumbled across some secrets from before the Era."
The secrets were so significant that the cunning old thing would rather abandon the Plague Town and the remains of the King of the Jackal Warlocks to enter and explore more."
"True, you make sense, it is indeed a perfect opportunity for exploration."
Triss nodded.
She took out the Nocturne Wand to apply enhancement states to herself and Murphy in preparation for exploration, and because of the unknowns ahead, Triss heightened her vigilance to the maximum, spending a full five minutes just applying Spiritual Energy enhancement states.
Murphy looked at the nearly 20 enhancement states on his character card and clenched his fists, feeling the surge of power within him.
If only I had asked my wife Triss to apply these many states before challenging the Golden Skeleton earlier, I definitely could have won!
Ah, a qualified group leader should always check the BUFF status before starting a BOSS, how could I have forgotten about this?
Seeing Murphy’s regretful expression, Triss seemed to guess what was on his mind, and with a snort, she whipped out the Nocturne Wand and tapped it on Murphy’s forehead before swiftly leading him deeper into the swamp.
Soon, they reached the base of the mountain where the Swamp Giant Snake’s lair was located, only for Triss to just throw out a wide-ranging Spiritual Energy scan when Murphy heard strange sounds coming from within the mountain.
Next, as he and Triss watched intently, the bedraggled Jackal Warlock, Tear Flesh, leaning on a metal Magic Wand and carrying something on his back, limped out of a hidden passageway in the mountain, gasping for breath.
This fellow looked as if he had been beaten up by a terrifying creature, several teeth knocked out and one eye blinded.
Yet, from the strange joy radiating from his aged face, it seemed he indeed found what he was looking for in the land of the creator. However, before he could savor this joy, Tear Flesh looked up and saw a man and a woman, two vampires, blocking his way.
"Talk about uncanny timing..."
Triss raised an eyebrow and cast a Paralysis Curse to immobilize Tear Flesh, drawing out her words:
"This Jackal Warlock seems so happy, must have encountered something delightful. How about you take out the wonderful item you found and share your joy with both of us."
"I have met greatness, I have entered greatness! You... you will not sever the future I am guarding!"
The immobilized Tear Flesh roared and activated a function on his metal Magic Wand, and the next second, he was swallowed by an abruptly opened rift to the Star Realm.
Triss wasn’t quick enough to stop it.
She could only cast a tracking spell on Tear Flesh before he escaped into the Star Realm, but with quick reflexes, Murphy commanded Necesse Mala to perform a daring "snatch from the jaws" move.
Along with Tear Flesh’s scream, the fierce Demon Sword chopped off his left claw, and the hand, along with the unusual metal Magic Wand, slammed onto the ground by Murphy’s feet as the Star Realm rift closed.
"He sent himself to the Dark Mountain Range, and although the interference from the Star Realm prevents me from pinpointing his exact location, it certainly hasn’t exceeded Wasteland Mountain. We can still catch up now!"
Triss turned her head to shout at Murphy, who was squatting and now holding the oddly shaped metal Magic Wand in his hands.
The moment he touched it, a flurry of jumping text filled the Vampire Lord’s vision, causing him to stagger back a step and then use the wand to support himself.
He said:
"No, let him go! Send a message to the Blood Covenant Knight Order to have them intercept and capture that fellow, but the truly important item is already in our hands... this, Triss! This wand... it’s the key left to us by the creator!
My legacy..."
