Chapter 1365: 461. The big weapon you booked is about to enter!

The "Blood Servant Problem" at Klim Fortress was indeed severe, a minor flaw that had been overshadowed under the splendid victory of the Nordtov Kingdom’s Winter Wolf Army, when commanded by Lupa, the she-wolf, they aggressively invaded the Kafuhoka region during the final phase of the decade-long war.

This fortress, known as the "Unbroken Wall," had been a military fortification maintained and renovated at great expense by the Posya Confederation for the past four hundred years. Staffed perpetually by elite members of the Blood Vulture Clan and ten thousand elite Blood Servants, it was a force that could not be ignored on the lands of Transia, though it was not seized through siege by the Winter Wolf Army.

Duchess Shani of the Thorn Clan infiltrated the fortress and, following a "Wang Situ"-like successful persuasion, combined with the destruction of Cardman City and the harsh reality of the annihilation of the Blood Vulture Clan, the vampires submissively surrendered the fortress.

These scoundrels didn’t even negotiate for more and, after surrendering, joined the Thorn Clan, receiving preferential treatment and establishing their faction. They were originally poised to settle in Transia, but faced the unstoppable rise of Morphy and Triss, the "turned fish belly up" couple, and were assigned new land by Duchess Shani who did not want to stir trouble.

The Thorns Duke relocated these traitors to the other side of the Great Wilderness, where they joyfully started a new life in Port of Joseph in the Far East Lands; however, the ten thousand Armed Blood Servants remaining steadfast in the castle suffered.

It could be seen from the previous reception of the Third Brigade from Maxim that, though there were many in the Armed Blood Servants who were "soldiering for the perks," a large group still retained their loyalty to the Posya Confederation and Transia. After their vampire commanders fled, how to handle these now-homeless Armed Blood Servants became a vexation for General Baldwin.

In these past months, the General had tried many measures, persuading a batch of willing Blood Servants, but about six thousand still remained "non-cooperative."

Though they obeyed commands and adhered to the General’s directive, Baldwin dared not gamble on what choice these men would make if they received an order to, for example, combat forces from Transia.

Such a large number couldn’t simply be slaughtered, for that would only court trouble—should they incite a rebellion, it would easily cause significant vulnerabilities in Klim Fortress’s defenses.

This matter had almost become a persistent concern for the distinguished General Baldwin, now keeping him from maintaining his sleep quality while at Klim Fortress.

According to the General’s prior notion, he intended to use these stubborn Blood Servants as "expendables" against the Wolf People. However, with the imminent onset of the Black Disaster, this vexing issue seemed to be turning a corner.

"Didn’t Governor Morphy previously receive a batch of Blood Servants who returned from the Great Wilderness? They also accepted Blood Servant prisoners from Marshal Loren of Goldenrod Kingdom in East Prussia.

This denotes that Governor Morphy doesn’t dwell on these fellows’ failures and is willing to give them a chance to start anew," advised the General’s aide-de-camp:

"The loyalty of the Armed Blood Servants in the fortress is very much an issue, and I know it has been troubling you. It might be best to go with the flow and use this cooperation to send them back to Transia as well. Of course, Governor Morphy needs to pay a certain compensation, or his warriors need to undertake more work to qualify for the exchange of Blood Servant quotas.

For example, the warfare supplies that we are most lacking right now.

Winter is coming, and although the swamp near Klim Fortress keeps it from being deadly cold, we are still deficient in fuel and winter clothes.

Currently, order has not yet been restored in the Kafuhoka region, and with rioting locals everywhere, gathering these supplies locally would take much more time and effort.

My point is, if Governor Morphy’s warriors can bring the things we need..."

"Yes, that is a good idea," nodded General Winter Wolf.

He had clearly thought of this solution before but was waiting for his aide-de-camp to voice it.

As the highest military commissioner in the region, some "politically incorrect" statements couldn’t come directly from him, as they could easily tarnish his military record.

Although deeply trusted by Lupa, politics were a morass that the General didn’t want to let tarnish his and his family’s hitherto pristine reputation.

Thus, he followed up his aide-de-camp’s suggestion:

"We could first select a portion of the most resistant and unwilling Blood Servants as ’gifts’ to be sent away, incidentally easing the pressure on our fortress’s prison.

As for what Morphy’s warriors should give in return, let me think. The nearby swamp at Klim Fortress has always had an overpopulation of beasts, hasn’t it?

According to our recent investigations, this migration of beasts is due to the large-scale activities of those damned Jackal Warlocks in the swamp, a chain reaction triggered by this issue, fitting exactly within the scope of our mutual aid agreement with Transia.

So, let the Transians on the northern front take care of it!

After all, Morphy’s warriors are not afraid of death.

They embrace it!

Such characters make highly troublesome enemies on the battlefield; now would be a good time to reduce some, easing our future burdens."

"Hmm, I will immediately advance this matter according to your thoughts," stated the serious aide-de-camp, diligently recording the General’s orders, then continued:
