Chapter 1267: 428. Show the Celyon masters something new! Let them see how the Transia People fight!_2

They were players too.

The veterans had all sorts of "virtues," which these players were no less lacking, and their role as role-playing gamers had endowed them with even more distinct behavioral patterns than the average player.

They placed a greater emphasis on the honor of both the collective and the individual. Although the "Wall of Glory" at Torrent Castle was still bare, everyone from Tepar to Uncle Fuding to each member of the team had no doubt that in the not-too-distant future, the wall would be filled with legends of their own making.

This game had neither first kills in dungeons nor factional opposition, but it definitely possessed certain traits that were all the more captivating.

It forced all involved to stop viewing everything from the perspective of an outsider or a third party and instead aggressively thrust the reins of the future into their hands, allowing them to take part in shaping and advancing a real future.

Building and destruction were always the two most gratifying pursuits.

And now, the Torrent Knights Group were about to savor both kinds of satisfaction—how could that not be thrilling?

As the galloping war steeds leaped over the last hill before entering battle, those in the vanguard, upon their neighing horses touching down on the battleground, saw the flames in the distance, lighting up the chaos beyond. The burning watchtowers served as torches in the night, guiding their way forward.

The closer they got, the more palpable the deep, underlying opposition of the war became—the chaos represented by the Wolf People pitted against the order being defended but perilously close to collapse.

And then, there were the corpses by the roadside...

Those who had fled from the destroyed villages only to be relentlessly pursued by the ruthless undead—just by looking at their twisted postures in death, one could see their despair in their final moments.

"If only we had arrived a bit sooner..."

This particular sentiment of regret echoed in the hearts of Tepar and every one of the Torrent Knights.

As they drew nearer to the battlefield and saw clearly the risen corpses, the ghouls freshly revived by the Jackal Warlocks—those pitiful innocents, men, women, old and young, all desecrated in death—their regret quickly transformed into rage.

It was like tossing a spark into a furnace already heaped with kindling.

"Kill!"

Leading the charge, Uncle Fuding bellowed and thrust his lance forward, the accumulated kinetic energy of his charging horse sending the hideous ghoul flying in a dramatically explosive hit.

Taking his lead, the following knights sliced through like a knife through bread, swiftly cutting a path through the massed ghouls towards the hiding place of the Jackal Warlocks.

Unfortunately, they were not the endlessly powerful Winged Cavalry.

Confronted by the now sizable Undead Sea, the initial charge of the knights quickly dissipated, and they were bogged down by the undead in front. But no matter, with Uncle Fuding’s roar directing the first squadron to fan out to the flanks, Miss Biqi and her family knights were already advancing to the top.

This was the charging tactic formulated for the Torrent Knights Group by the Valande Knights themselves.

This alternating wave charge achieved an effect similar to that of the Winged Cavalry’s charging tactics. The only issue was that such a precise tactic required a significant amount of practice to execute in the chaotic battlefield, as well as an almost telepathic state among the knights to ensure that the staggered charges could be carried out smoothly without the need for fine-tuned commands.

It was difficult for ordinary Cavalry, but very easy for players.

They had the support of the team framework, allowing each squadron of knights to receive and execute commands from the Commander at any moment,

The vampires above, students all, witnessed this scene; Ayu exclaimed,

"While this might not be as heart-stopping as the fearless charge of the Winged Cavalry, those RP players sure know how to coordinate! Just look at their teamwork—it’s as smooth as a well-oiled machine."

"What’s the use of marveling now? Go down, guide their charge, we must take out those Jackal Warlocks hiding amongst the undead as quickly as possible."

Meow Meow Shark shouted and, seizing his War Halberd, flew down towards the already scouted target, with Ayu following and pulling out a signal gun crafted by Loyal Brother to fire into the sky.

The red pyrotechnics exploded aloft, serving as the perfect lighthouse guiding the Torrent Knights charging onto the battlefield.

And as that crimson light from the sky’s explosion illuminated the ground, Plague Tooth, the Jackal Warlock orchestrating the battlefield from behind the Undead Sea, suddenly looked up.

That burst of red in the sky and the several vampires descending spelled the progression to the exact scenario he dreaded.

The ambush had failed!

The vampires from Transylvania had detected their presence and, in coordination with the soldiers of Goldenrod Kingdom, had commenced a brutal assault.

Damn it!

Plague Tooth raised his Bone Staff in anger.

Under his silent command, ominous crows of doom flew from the shadows to join the skeletal scavenger birds in their attack on the vampires in the air.

However, the players were the best at drawing lessons from experience. After the Big Bird Spinning Team nearly wiped out against the scavenger birds in Westerburg, countermeasures against such aerial assaults had long been developed.
