Chapter 1265: 427. Rescue in the Flames_3

"Awesome!"

"Lit!"

"Cheche bro, make one for me too!"

"Make one for each of us! No, make ten each!"

Suddenly, their boisterous buddies burst into laughter and began to jeer, their cheerful atmosphere lasting until they arrived at the border of East Prussia with their speedy flight.

"Holy shit!"

With the highest perception and best vision, Meow Meow Shark came to an abrupt halt in midair and looked out at the burning land in front of him, exclaiming in shock,

"What the hell did those Jackal Warlocks do here? Isn’t this fire a bit too much? Did they set the earth ablaze?"

"Poor pathetic hunter, that’s ignorant. Now it’s time for Cheche to explain the wonder of spiritual energy to you."

Invincible Tyrannosaurus Truck hovered beside Meow Meow Shark, stroking his chin in a professional manner, and said,

"This is clearly a scene caused by a Heavenly Fire meteorite strike. I learned this unique earth-based spiritual energy tactic from the miss.

Though it’s less powerful than the Dimension Meteorite Skill we’ve seen, in terms of destructive power and mental impact, its advantage is that it’s simple to use, one of the most basic entry-level spells of the ’meteorite series.’

But a firestorm of this scale caused by a Heavenly Fire meteorite strike is indeed rare. It must have been a large-scale Flame Strike Spell. It looks like these Jackal Warlocks who came over are tough to deal with, definitely all true elites, and coupled with their Skeleton Army...

This is going to be a tough fight."

"Well, even if it was tough, we wouldn’t need to step in, right?"

Lead Dove sneered coldly, and with a backhand draw of his scarlet Magic Wand, proclaimed loudly,

"Psychics follow me, let’s first extinguish this firestorm. Non-psychics start the free hunt on the outskirts. We’ve all dealt with the Skeleton Army before and know their weakness! Don’t waste time fighting those skeletal frames; find their manipulators and perform a precise beheading.

Meow Meow Shark, send out your hyenas to search for survivors.

We’re here for a fight, but we need to save people too... That’s killing two birds with one stone!"

"Good Pigeon, Tepar has sent a message; they’re on their way and asking us to relay a message to the Goldenrod Soldiers holding the line as reinforcements."

Electronic Snail sidled up to say,

"Tepar wants those soldiers to get ready for a surprise attack and to strike from the inside out in coordination with the main forces of the Rushing River Knights Group when they arrive. In addition, Uncle Fuding hopes that we’ll find the location of the Jackal Warlock’s summoning ritual and disrupt the spread of the Skeleton Army. We can’t let those Jackal Warlocks summon any more undead.

Once that snowball starts rolling, it becomes a real mess."

"That’s easier said than done!"

Good Pigeon cursed,

"We’ve just arrived here; where do we go looking for the secret summoning places of those Jackal Warlocks? Besides, this damn place I’ve been to only once before, when I followed Catch Shrimp here to capture people and report back!"

"Over here! Hey, you flying vampire, come this way! Hey, do you see me? I’m here! Quick, come over!"

Just then, a commotion came from below, drawing the attention of the highly perceptive Meow Meow Shark. Looking down, he was taken aback to find a sly-looking Jackal Wolfman Hunter crouching in the shadows below.

It was waving its claws nonchalantly towards the sky, its unabashed demeanor suggesting it hailed from the Smugglers’ Forest, as probably only the Jackal Wolfmen of the Bloodclaw Clan on the whole continent would exhibit such unique behavior.

"A Hog’s man?"

Meow Meow Shark exclaimed,

"What’s he doing here... Hiss, I’m starting to feel there’s something fishy about tonight’s events. Could this be orchestrated by the officials of Transylvania behind the scenes...?"

"You go down first and ask. Everyone else, move out, quick!"

With an order from Good Pigeon, they scattered in all directions.

With cover from Coo Coo Chicken, Ayu swiftly crossed the scorching and chaotic sky and the already chaotic battlefield below, dropping swiftly in a stylish death dive, eventually landing steadily behind the lines of the Goldenrod Kingdom.

The area had already been breached once by the Skeleton Army, and the ground was strewn with corpses, severed limbs, and charred skeletal remains – evidence that the local defending soldiers had launched an effective counterattack and reclaimed the line.

As Ayu landed, the weary soldiers around him picked up their weapons, and some cursed the damned vampire.

But Ayu paid them no mind.

Holding the hilt of his family’s wing blade at his waist, he shouted,

"Call out your commander! I come on behalf of the reinforcements from the Blood Vulture Clan and the warriors of Transylvania for a parley! We’ve received authorization from Colonel Fraser.

Damn it!

Where’s your commander?

Did he run off? Wasn’t it said that the Pioneer Army is strictly disciplined?"

"You’re standing right on top of our commander’s left leg..."

A deep voice arose from behind the soldiers, and then out of the collapsed bunker stepped a broad, bloodied man, his head in bandages, carrying a war hammer.

It was evident the guy was exhausted and covered in wounds, but the anger and fighting spirit in his eyes made Ayu realize he was dealing with a tough character.

"Uh, sorry, I didn’t mean to step on him, mainly because it’s all a mess..."

Out of respect for a true warrior, Ayu’s tone softened somewhat. He took a step back with dignity to avoid continuing to stand on the remains of the line’s commander and inviting hostility.

He coughed, under the other’s gaze, and said,

"Reinforcements from Transylvania will be here soon. Our knights ask that you get ready for a counter-charge, to jointly slay the border-crossing Jackal Warlocks and their Skeleton Army on the battlefield.

However, I guess we didn’t expect your casualties to be so heavy, so how many men do you have left fit to fight?"

Facing Ayu’s inquiry, the Pioneer Army lieutenant spat a clump of bloody saliva down by his feet ruthlessly. Leaning on his war hammer, he shouted to the soldiers behind him, and one after another, the tired warriors stood up from their hiding places.

"We started with 540 men, now there are 130 left..."

The lieutenant said in a low voice,

"But don’t worry, we’ll make it to the battlefield on time."
