Chapter 1212: 410. Triss’s Different World People Observation Journal · Issue 2

"That mark was recently made, consistent with the style we found on the remains of Zivig and Mr. X."

Although Turner, the "Twilight Affairs expert," had already inspected the remains of the First Generation Count Xike, with the Grand Duke of Triss present, it would have been wasteful not to reexamine them. So after Turner and Valande had left, Triss used her vampire methods to conduct another inspection on the recovered remains.

As she maintained the operation of the crimson Spiritual Energy that wandered over the skeleton, she said to the waiting Murphy:

"So we can be sure, the person who orchestrated this tomb-robbing from the shadows must be that ’Origin’ or one of her servants."

"I’ve found that operations involving ’Origin’ are almost always related to Necromancy Skills."

Murphy said, frowning:

"So, can we determine that this person is a master of the undead? Based on your previous deduction, is she definitely related to the Moon Temple in the Origin Land of the Sanghai Empire? Might she be from the Sanghai People?"

"No, it’s not that."

Triss shook her head and said:

"Using this power doesn’t mean she’s related to the Sanghai People. The Netherworld secrets of the Moon priests have obviously leaked a lot, and we can’t even be sure when the leakage of this knowledge began.

Murphy, you must understand that although the knowledge of necromancy has always been monopolized by the Moon priests, this doesn’t mean others can’t glimpse the Netherworld from other aspects.

That genuinely existing plane isn’t exclusively owned by the Moon priests, and there have been leaks of undead forces occurring all over the continent over the years.

It’s merely the difference between formally trained and those who are self-taught.

However, the Necromancy Skills ’Origin’ uses don’t seem like something that could be self-taught; the Undead Army beneath the Ruins of Westerburg is not the work of a beginner.

So, for now, we must wait for the support promised by Lord Pa Ying. I guess Lord Pa Ying will surely reach an agreement with the Moon Holy City.

Lord Pa Ying has always been good at playing the grand game, holding a lofty reputation among various powers."

"I trust Lord Pa Ying, but I just hope his reinforcements arrive sooner. We don’t have much more time."

Murphy massaged his brow, and said:

"I very much hope to deal with this damned ’Origin’ and her elusive forces before the Black Disaster breaks out, but it looks like we might not have the chance."

"She won’t trouble you in the near future, I assure you.

You can focus your efforts on the Polluted Swamp for now, and when the support from Pa Ying arrives, then we can figure out how to solve the trouble in Westerburg."

Triss said with an elusive note in her voice.

The certainty in her words made Murphy look at her in surprise.

Triss didn’t plan to tell Murphy that she actually had a direct confrontation with "Origin," just that she failed to capture her, allowing "Origin" to escape, but the Spiritual Overlord was confident in her own destructive power.

She was certain that the recent confrontation in the Ice Bay Area had injured "Origin," and knowing her, she wouldn’t resurface until she had fully recovered.

Triss was certain of this because she had mentored "Origin" herself.

She was familiar with her protégé’s modus operandi.

Murphy didn’t ask further; he trusted Triss’s judgment on such matters. Minutes later, Triss applied a Spiritual Energy protective spell to the skeleton of the First Generation Earl, and then returned with Murphy to the Blood Vulture Corridor.

Thanks to the small players who had been frequently using transdimensional portals to travel around Transylvania, Triss had enough samples to improve the teleportation spells, once scorned by Psychics.

She told Murphy that the probability of teleportation going awry was now very low, yet Murphy remained cautious.

Unless it was necessary, Murphy would avoid using portals at all costs.

After all, he only had one life, without the convenience of a three-day resurrection—if he were thrown into the Star Realm, he couldn’t quickly return, and he might even need to organize the players to venture into the Star Realm to save him...

Hey!

That’s another great idea!

Right, why not start a "Star Realm Rescue" quest chain?

This would be an opportunity for the players to witness the hidden beauty of this magical world.

Murphy’s eyes lit up, and he quickly took out his notebook to jot down this "inspiration" to release the quest chain when the time was right.

Triss watched this scene, somewhat speechless.

As a member of the "development team," she knew exactly what Murphy was doing.

"Aren’t you going to run experiments?"

Murphy noted down his ideas and turned with surprise to Triss; curiously, he said:

"Why are you so free today?"

"I’ve finished the experiments."

Triss replied with an eye-roll:

"From conceiving the idea to designing the experiment, to carrying it out, I obtained results last night. Right now, I’m preparing to review the outcomes. Do you want to come with me?"

"Sure."

At this invitation, Murphy happily accepted.

He had always been curious about what Triss had been doing locked up in her laboratory, and now that she was so confident, he was even more interested.

He followed Triss down into the collapsed zone at the very bottom of the Blood Vulture Corridor.

Although it was continuously being cleared, the complexity of the interior structure of the corridor meant that workers always found inexplicable collapse points, making the clearing work seem like an endless task.

But according to Mistress Triss, the collapsed areas are now largely cleared, and the remaining should be done within a month; afterwards, Murphy could consider redesigning and reconstructing the corridor.
