Warning!

The self-destruction process has been initiated!

Facing the warning, Meng HaHa chose to continue without any expression on her face.

Her hands were very steady.

With great precision, she used both hands to insert the spiritual energy tweezers into the minuscule holes reserved for operation at the junction where the gray Treasure Bead panel connected to the hemispherical Crystal Stone, where there was scarcely any space to maneuver.

The countdown for the self-destruction on the player interface had hit 20, as Little Wei Ming beside her covered her eye, not daring to watch any longer.

But Meng HaHa’s eye narrowed.

Her fingers moved rapidly, guiding the two probes along the seam of the Crystal Stone until she found the latch that connected it to the panel.

"Classic mechanical wedge structure, truly the least creative but also the most reliable combination."

She muttered to herself, then gritted her teeth and pushed both hands in opposite directions into the latch and pulled outward, causing a click sound. The entire Crystal Stone popped out from the gray panel and was swiftly caught by Meng HaHa’s quick reflexes.

The countdown to self-destruction at 7 stopped along with a surge of spiritual energy interference on the interface, and not only that, but the entire Treasure Bead also went into a shutdown state due to the precise "violent dismantling."

Without the aid of the Calculating Pearl, Meng HaHa’s character interface disappeared immediately, plunging her back into the "original" state only experienced by the first 16 players.

She now had to rely on her own senses to confirm her level, skills, and map orientation, as if returning to the cleanest state of the game stripped of all add-ons.

"So this is what it feels like? There’s truly no difference from the real world,"

Meng HaHa reached to touch the bridge of her nose, looking at the dimming Crystal Stone in her hand she said,

"This thing is nominally an assistive device, but in reality, it’s just a cunningly disguised design meant to amplify the ’game feel’ and ’immersive experience.’ It sets an artificial ’boundary’ for players out of nowhere, but the intimidating but hollow destruction warnings are the biggest blunders.

Without it, I am even closer to the true state of ’transcending.’

My judgment is absolutely correct!

Someone has based an entire game on a real world!

Ah, such a cunning strategy."

"What are you talking about?"

Little Wei Ming, who had kept her distance, only came over to circle around Meng HaHa after realizing she had dismantled the Calculating Pearl and it had not exploded. She asked,

"So, can you figure anything out by taking this thing apart?"

"Of course, I can’t figure anything out, this dismantling was the entire experiment for today."

Meng HaHa said earnestly as she tossed the irregularly shaped Crystal Stone in her hand, and she examined the simple yet earnestly designed gray panel,

"I’ve only been here less than a week, and I’m still in the early stages of testing and observing physical rules. Where would I find the time and energy to learn about spiritual energy and steam engineering? I took it apart just to confirm certain things, and to understand how this thing works.

But from what I can see, it doesn’t operate on pure mechanics.

All its secrets are encapsulated within this unique Crystal Stone, and without mastery over spiritual energy, its secrets will remain forever unsolvable."

Meng HaHa wasn’t disappointed, merely holding the now dim Crystal Stone in front of her eyes to inspect closely. Through the light of the dusk shining into the dim stone, she could barely make out some indescribable black specks within,

Like the "impurities" in a piece of jade.

But she was certain that what made this Crystal Stone remarkable were these very "specks" within the stone.

Unfortunately, that was a secret only known to Psychics.

"Let’s go!"

Meng HaHa, satisfied with her work, threw the dismantled Calculating Pearl into her psychic package. She packed up the tools Little Wei Ming had splurged on and gestured to her "little friend," saying,

"Go to the Adventurer’s Guild and buy me a new one, don’t worry, I’ll pay for it."

"Swish"

Just as they were about to leave, a Crimson Gate abruptly opened in front of them, causing both Little Wei Ming and Meng HaHa to freeze in their tracks. Then they saw Sir Morphy and Miss Phemys step out with calm expressions.

"Is it here?"

Morphy asked, turning around. Phemys, with her blood-pupil eyes adorned with blood-red specks, stared at Meng HaHa and confirmed,

"It’s correct, right here. The Calculating Pearl with code number 641 has just been forcibly destroyed; before shutting down, it transmitted its coordinates to a superior node that I hold. Its remains are on this lady."

Without the translation from the Calculating Pearl, Meng HaHa could no longer understand the conversation between Sir Morphy and the young lady.

But Little Wei Ming understood.

The little dwarf was petrified by the conversation of the two main NPCs, and she hurriedly explained,

"It’s not our fault, that Treasure Bead just happened to be..."

"Are you sure you want to lie to me? My warrior, given our currently very good personal relationship, I implore you not to do that.

Back off!

This matter has nothing to do with you."

Morphy glanced at Little Wei Ming.

The unique light in his eyes made Little Wei Ming bite her lip and refrain from further explanation, realizing that Morphy’s presence indicated that Meng HaHa’s actions might have breached certain "taboos."

However, she did not step back, loyally choosing not to leave Meng HaHa alone in this dangerous situation.
