Chapter 1134: 384. From the King of the Forest Clearing to the Swamp Lord
Hog quickly had buyers show up in his large monster den. The timing was much quicker than the Blood Claw Chief had imagined.
Although Honest Dog Egg was just a novice, he had a group of truly flying companions.
The best part was that Transylvania had recently entered autumn; the continuous gloomy weather allowed the Vampires to move freely about.
Thus, the new Coffin Bearer, Dog Egg, was carried through the air by Cheche and Good Pigeon, each holding one of his arms, meaning he didn’t need to rent horses and run over like other struggling novices. It was fast and convenient. The only issue was that it wasn’t very friendly to those afraid of heights.
Luckily, Honest Dog Egg was not afraid of heights.
However, he was sure those two rascals did it on purpose!
You could tell from their pale faces that couldn’t hide their glee and amusement, thoroughly enjoying Brother Dog Egg’s panic-stricken yelling all the way, which filled the two rascals with satisfaction.
The experience of near sound-speed flight caused Dog Egg’s arms to go numb, and he nearly fell on his butt from trembling legs.
But the guy was tough.
He knew the two villains wanted to see him in a disheveled state, but, despite almost vomiting, he gritted his teeth and didn’t let them have their way.
"Ah, warriors from Crimson Castle! Come, come, Chief Hog has prepared what you need."
Coming to greet the three was Nash, Hog’s adjutant and the hunting team leader of the Bloodclaw Clan, who had also been assigned a Calculating Pearl to facilitate communication with the players.
This short statured fellow possessed similar cunning intelligence to Hog, and his green eyes gleamed with shrewdness.
He was also well aware that in recent times the Bloodclaw Clan had been able to quickly control the prosperous Smugglers’ Forest, providing the clan members good living conditions, all thanks to the hard work of these warriors.
More importantly, Nash had witnessed these warriors hunting the Skeleton Army and knew that if they became hostile, his own Bloodclaw Clan could be slaughtered in a very short time.
Chief Hog’s wisdom was correct.
Maintaining a good relationship with these terrifying fellows from Crimson Castle was only beneficial to the Bloodclaw Clan, a thought that drove Nash to be very enthusiastic towards the warriors.
He had even developed a few "acquaintances" among the players, occasionally assigning them tasks that were risky but profitable to boost their "favorability."
This wave, ah, this wave was about mutually increasing favorability, eventually resulting in a "beautiful friendship tale."
"Yo, Nash, you’ve gained quite a bit of weight recently, looking much better than before when you were skin and bones."
Cheche’s optimistic nature meant he could never become a damn racist, hence he was one of Nash’s few "friends."
Initiating a greeting with the petite Jackal and Wolf clan hunting team captain, who was riding his Earth Wolf cackling wildly and looking rather sly as he took two rough wooden keys from his belt pouch and tossed them to Cheche and Good Pigeon, Nash lowered his voice and said:
"Thank you for the human alcohol and smoked meat you sneaked me last time, my clan loved them, and I made a small fortune.
Your portions are buried in the old spot.
Remember to pick them up when you have time."
"Sure thing."
Good Pigeon and Cheche laughed heartily, taking the keys without any burden.
In the present scenario where the trade between Crimson Castle and the Bloodclaw Clan was monopolized by the Batasin Business Association, the actions of Good Pigeon and Cheche were undoubtedly "smuggling." But given their special status, even if the Batasin Business Association or the Blood Rat Gang discovered them, they couldn’t do anything about it.
Of course, such matters couldn’t be done overtly as the small players also cared about their reputation, so they had to operate on a small scale and in secret.
Fortunately, Nash wasn’t too greedy at the moment.
He was cunning and knew that if Chief Hog discovered his actions, he couldn’t escape a whipping.
But helplessly, with four female Jackal and Wolf individuals and six pups to feed at home, Nash had no choice but to sneakily improve his life through a side business using his job’s convenience.
The four female Jackal and Wolf individuals were all rescued by Nash during the collapse of the large camp at Kenbort, and none of the six pups were his children. But driven by the only human decency in the Jackal and Wolf’s barbaric nature, Nash took it upon himself to care for them.
This earned Hog’s appreciation and increased his trust in Nash.
A conscientious guy!
Even though he was a Jackal and Wolf, he was trustworthy.
Led by the enthusiastic Nash, Good Pigeon, Cheche, and Dog Egg, who was curious about everything on his first visit to Smugglers’ Forest, arrived at the Bloodclaw Clan’s large monster den.
This place was once a gently rolling hill, but now the Gnolls of the Bloodclaw Clan had dug it into something quite "spectacular," resembling cave dwellings interconnected by passageways.
The "dwellings" covering the surface already demonstrated the Bloodclaw Clan’s military strength, and the extensive network of tunnels underground could maximize the den’s defensive capabilities.
This clan-style den and Crimson Castle were two entirely different environments. The bizarre flags flying around were filled with thick clan style, which opened Dog Egg’s eyes to the liberal artistic style of this quirky game.
