Chapter 1095: 371. Just the right version update

The "Happy Stick" really nailed the "aggro" this time, making the version update announcement that Murphy had sneakily uploaded largely ignored by most players.

It finally avoided the embarrassing situation of being accused of "sneak attack" updates by players every time, but Lord Administrator had no choice, as he couldn’t exactly kick the little players out every time there was a major update and pretend to carry out a "server restart"...

Hey! Wait a minute!

Why not?

Come to think of it, I could occasionally pull off this kind of stunt to remind those who have already started seeking the "truth" that this is just an ordinary game test. Although for those who are convinced of the truth, it’s nothing more than another lame and feeble "smoke bomb," having something is better than nothing, right?

After all, who wants to deal with "server updates" when traveling through Another World?

In that instant, Murphy thought it was a good idea.

So he highlighted this idea in his "Real Different World Development Team notebook." However, after the prompt to Meow Brother to check out the update, the previous heated forum posts criticizing Happy Stick quickly declined in popularity, and everyone moved over to the freshly published update post.

This was a real "major update"!

["Real Different World" Alpha3.0 Beta Testing Version Update Announcement:

Hello, everyone, I am your dear Alpha, a member of the testing team. Before officially announcing the content of this update, I would like to express, on behalf of the entire "Real Different World" Development Team and testing team, our heartfelt gratitude to all those contributing to the testing work in the game!

Thanks to everyone’s efforts and hard work in the past two months, our game has progressed from a buggy mess to a patchwork piece that is barely functional.

Even the most confident coders in the Development Team wouldn’t dare to guarantee that there aren’t any serious, undiscovered bugs lurking in the monstrosity of code they’ve created.

However, despite these concerns, we have, alongside you all, stumbled and fumbled our way to the present, and we firmly believe that the "bond" between the Development Team and testers is strong enough to overcome any difficulties. We are also fully confident that the current testing mode can detect and eliminate most factors affecting the gaming experience.

Therefore, after multiple discussions with the Development Team, we decided to give a gift from the Development Team to all players who participated in the testing after the closed testing phase is over.

We have yet to decide what to put inside the gift box, but we have enough time to choose something delightful!

And personally, I believe this modest token of appreciation falls short of expressing our gratitude towards you all. (It was I who proposed the idea of granting rewards to the entire server, so why aren’t you all kneeling in thanks to your beloved Brother Fa?)

Now, onto the official content of the major version update:

1. Player Territory Gameplay Unlocked:

I’m sure some of you information-savvy Little Cuties already know some details about ’stronghold’ gameplay, but we couldn’t roll this feature out earlier due to some logical flaws.

Finally, under the relentless pressure of the testing team members, our Development Team’s tech lions managed to finalize this heavyweight gameplay before the beta testing ended.

As of the update, Transylvania will have three new player territories, which we call ’strongholds’!

In these areas, all matters of villager recruitment, stronghold construction, and legal constraints will be decided through negotiations by you, the players. The Crimson Castle Administrative Office will delegate maximum authority, retaining only tax collection, patrols, and the right to intervene when necessary.

This will be another perfect showcase of the high level of freedom in the game.

Players will no longer play the roles of ordinary adventurers but can step onto the political stage of Transylvania with the posture of ’lords.’ However, management and construction of player strongholds cannot be completed by an individual, so after several deliberations, the Development Team decided to delegate stronghold management authority to Players’ Guilds.

The current version will delegate the strongholds ’Torrent Castle’ and ’Maginot Line’ to the player guilds ’Rushing River Knights Group’ and ’Scarlet Hammer Sickle Group,’ respectively, for their excellent performance in the latest main storyline event.

Guilds that have not been allocated a stronghold need not worry. Governor Murphy still has a stronghold whose ownership has not been determined, which will be assigned based on future quest progression.

I must emphasize here!

Strongholds are not merely about developing a single village or town. They have different growth paths based on their specific responsibilities.

The different development paths for strongholds are as follows:

Initial Stronghold - Village/Military Camp/Trading Post - Town/Fortress/Marketplace - City/Defensive Line/Commercial Hub.

After guilds obtain their stronghold deeds from the Administrative Office, they must designate the stronghold’s function and development path and complete the construction tasks issued by the Administrative Office within a set period.

If a stronghold’s development fails to satisfy the Administrative Office over a prolonged period, after a maximum of three administrative reprimands, the guild’s authority over the stronghold will be permanently revoked and reassigned.

Ps:

The ’Maginot Line’ stronghold assigned this time is a special case; it cannot be used for anything other than ’Military Camp - Fortress - Defensive Line.’

2. Tester Recruitment System Overhaul:

As the two-month closed testing progresses to this stage, the testing team has realized that in order to conduct deeper testing and advance the storyline, it’s imperative to recruit more testers into our project.
