Chapter 1090: 369. Sir Morphy actually gave out a cyber-wife?_2
Just in the past few days, the Highlander guides made a hefty sum from the searches, but they wouldn’t squander the money. Instead, they handed it over to the Elder, who would organize a trade caravan to go to the Barbarian tribes of Ice Bay. They purchase some "local goods" according to Little Count Shuren’s wishes, to continue trading with the warriors.
All in all, thanks to Little Shuren’s maneuvering, the Highlanders were also brought into the loop of the warriors’ quest, achieving a win-win situation for everyone involved.
Migrants now had a place to live and were assigned jobs under Sir Morphy’s command, starting a new life. The players completed quests, earned construction points, and were able to buy various high-quality items from the black market to increase their strength. The Highlanders earned money and incidentally cleared out strangers from their mountain woods. At Crimson Castle, Sir Morphy was overjoyed to see the migrants being sent back to Morlan village for registration every day.
An affair that satisfies everyone is a great affair!
"Sir Morphy’s Winged Cavalry came to pick us up!"
Tepar, who was riding at the forefront and leading the way, saw a cloud of dust rising in the distance. He took out a telescope from his saddlebag, took a look ahead, and then turned around and shouted back, causing all the players and NPCs to rejoice.
Soon after, a dozen or so towering Winged Cavalry, accompanied by an equal number of recruits, arrived.
Leading them was a captain under the Valande Knight’s command. He lifted his helmet’s visor atop his Armored Warhorse and called out loudly to Tepar, who was on horseback:
"We are ordered to receive and escort the migrants to Morlan village. Are you soldiers of the Rushing River Knights Group?"
"Yes, Sir."
Hearing his team’s name spoken so solemnly by an NPC, Tepar couldn’t help but puff out his proud chest. Then he heard the Winged Cavalry captain speak to him in a peculiar tone:
"Your commander, Sir Fredyng, broke his leg falling from a horse last night. He’s currently resting in Morlan village along with more than thirty of your brothers, and he hopes you’ll join them."
"How embarrassing!"
On hearing about Uncle Fredyng breaking his leg, many RP players in the crowd covered their faces in dismay, and even Tepar couldn’t keep his composure. Wow, was this really their second commander of the Rushing River Knights Group?
Did a knight as incompetent as this really need to exist?
Perhaps it would be better to just dismiss him later on, to avoid further embarrassment.
However, he still had to maintain appearances, so Tepar nodded solemnly and said:
"Thank you for your help with our companions. We have already done a preliminary registration for 427 migrants and now hand them over in full!"
He took out the roster and handed it to the Winged Cavalry captain, who nodded, wrote Tepar a receipt, and with this document, they could go to the administrative office to exchange for construction points.
people equated to 43 construction points. Divided among everyone, each person would barely receive 1.5 points, pitifully small by any account.
But the Rushing River Knights Group wasn’t just this one search party in action; the several thousand people they had found in the past few days could contribute 20-40 construction points for each of the 81 members of the group.
At this rate, if the three teams didn’t slack off, each member could end up with over 120 construction points by the end of this "Transian Population Census" phase of the quest. In the Blood Rat Gang’s black market, these points were enough to exchange for 1-3 rare weapons and protective gear, a grimoire, or a high-level skill manual.
For new players just starting out in the game, this reward was quite substantial, especially considering that in this game, equipment truly held its value.
Moreover, while they screened migrants they could also level up and complete quests, so by the end of a campaign phase, the overall strength of the entire Knights Group would see significant improvement.
After all, they were focused on group combat and were RP players who valued the experience, so their need for equipment and strength was not that intense.
Especially since the Rushing River Knights Group had a dedicated Quartermaster who collected and made various consumables to be distributed for free when needed, which set them apart from the lone wolves and small group playstyles of other players.
"Yo, Village Chief Tepar!"
While the Winged Cavalry NPCs were receiving the migrants, a dozen new warrior players approached the Rushing River Knights Group on horseback, led by the Happy Stick’s deputy commander, Tiger Leopard Riders Lin.
This guy had previously fought in a dungeon alongside Tepar, so they were quite familiar with each other.
He used a bizarre translator’s tone to greet Tepar:
"Look at the state you’re in, honestly, if your guys keep that downcast look, I’ll have to kick their asses with my boots."
"Be serious! Knight, you represent the Winged Cavalry with its honorable tradition."
With a stern face, Tepar looked at Lin, clad in gleaming Armor Plate and his horse adorned in Battle Armor, responding with a twinge of envy in his voice:
"As for my knights, they’re just tired from being exposed to the elements. They will eventually unearth their potential and catch up with you seniors, I firmly believe that."
"Yeah, yeah, we old players are the worst, always bullying you newbies."
Lin grinned and whispered to Tepar:
"Don’t say I don’t look out for you guys. Commander Valande is recruiting a second batch of newbies in three days. You’d better get a count of your brothers who meet the Endurance and Strength requirements and are willing to learn horse warfare to transfer to Heavy Cavalry. Even if they don’t become Winged Cavalry, the equestrian and charge tactician training during the newbie period are the best experiences you can find in Transia!"
