My Pet Beast is Super Fearsome
Chapter 679 - 44

Chapter 679: 44

Watching the fierce-looking Thunder Explosion Flame Dragon, the onlookers could not help but step back.

The hot and tingly airflow sprayed on the frail boy’s body, causing his pale face to blanch and his hair to stand on end as he trembled, unable to utter a word.

Bang!

A figure jumped down from the giant dragon; it was a rough exterior, over two meters tall muscular giant who took a few steps forward, looking down condescendingly at the small boy and said coldly, "You said, I’m not as good as who?"

"Roar!!!"

The Thunder Explosion Flame Dragon behind him opened its mouth and let out an angry roar at the boy, the foul-smelling airflow made the boy’s oversized shirt stick tightly to his body, and the mucus mixed within covered him completely, earning sympathetic looks from the crowd around.

This kid had offended Lei Yan; his future prospects at Pioneer Platform were essentially non-existent, since no organization would take in a rookie who’d offended an S-class pioneer.

The frail boy clenched his fists tightly, his eyes red as he gritted his teeth and said, "You are not as good as the Duke, that’s what I said!"

As soon as he said this, there was a commotion all around.

"This kid’s got backbone, standing up to Lei Yan; I’m scared for real."

"Could it be he knows he can’t mix in, so he’s just throwing it all away?"

"No matter what... I definitely don’t have the courage."

Lei Yan’s eyes narrowed, flashing a dangerous gleam, as he lifted his foot and viciously kicked the boy in the chest.

Thump!

The slim boy flew three to four meters away, slamming hard onto the concrete, his glasses tracing a parabola, shattering into countless pieces of glass, sparkling under the sunlight.

The boy curled up on the ground, fresh crimson blood spilling from his mouth. He propped himself up with his thin arms, struggling to sit up with a sneer, "Come on, I’ll admit you’re better than the Duke, at least the Duke doesn’t bully the weak."

Lei Yan’s facial muscles twitched, and he spat out a few words through clenched teeth: "You’re looking for death!"

"Boss Lei Yan!"

Just then, a group of people squeezed their way through the crowd, rushing up to Lei Yan and whispering, "The Duke is back in the capital."

Lei Yan took a deep breath, suppressing the rage in his heart and said coldly, "Location."

"Wa Emperor Memorial Park."

Lei Yan nodded, quickly climbing onto the back of the Thunder Explosion Flame Dragon. He glanced at the boy, then patted the giant dragon beneath him, "Let’s go!"

"Roar!"

The Thunder Explosion Flame Dragon’s massive wings unfolded, the violent gusts blowing the onlookers into disarray, and with a thunderous roar, it shot up into the sky as a streak of light.

The spectators looked at each other, then quickly scattered.

News of Lei Yan’s provocation spread quickly, and various flying creatures left Pioneer Platform, heading in the direction he had flown off to.

The slim boy sat on the ground in a daze, his eyes listlessly looking up at the busy Pioneer Building, all of which had nothing to do with him, having offended an S-class...

He had no future anymore.

Just as he was about to leave, a shadow cast over his head.

The frail boy woodenly looked up to see two strange young men standing in front of him.

One of them crouched down and patted his shoulder, grinning, "Kid, you’ve got guts. So, what do you say? Want to hang with us?"

The other one kicked him in the leg, full of disdain, "Talk properly, don’t you know the officials are cracking down on crime?"

The boy looked at the two men, somewhat bewildered, and hesitated, "I just offended S03, aren’t you afraid?"

"S03?" The man said with disdain, "Afraid of them? Our boss is S01."

The youth’s pupils shrank upon hearing this.

...

The Wa Emperor Memorial Park is less a park and more a ruin.

The battle that year had a wide impact; practically all buildings within its range were destroyed, and after the war, the entire area was designated as the Wa Emperor Memorial Park.

Seen from above, the park is an irregular circle. After three years of recovery, the entire area is lush with greenery bursting with life, yet here and there amid the shades of green, several broken walls and ruins intermittently record the fierceness of the battle three years ago.

Following the broad road down, there are two circular lakes close together whose waters gently ripple, surrounded by willow branches dancing in the wind.

If I remember correctly, these two lakes were created by Fei and Lingling.

Past the lakes is a vast square, and at its heart, a hundred-meter-high statue of the Wa Emperor with arms raised in support, the grand figure in its hands shimmering under the sunlight, the entire sculpture vivid and lifelike.

Shao Zifeng stood in front of the Wa Emperor Statue, taking fresh flowers from Cang Haiyuan’s hands and placing them on the altar.

Cang Haiyuan, with a somber face, took off his hat, "Remove hats, salute."

Swish!

Dozens of enforcers stood ramrod straight, uniformly taking off their hats and giving a solemn military salute.

"Salute over!"

After completing all this, Cang Haiyuan donned his hat again. He patted Shao Zifeng on the shoulder, "What are your plans next? If you have any itinerary, I can arrange for a car and escort for you."

Shao Zifeng diverted his gaze from the Wa Emperor Statue, "Cough... There’s no need for such formality, is there?"

Cang Haiyuan gave him a sideways glance, "Who do you think you are? Right now your identity is the Duke, not Shao Zifeng. Otherwise, I couldn’t care less about keeping you company here."

He shook his head as he spoke, "If only everyone was like you, that would be pretty good."

Shao Zifeng said in confusion, "So what are you really worried about?"

Cang Haiyuan opened his mouth, then said, "Forget it, you just got back. Are you planning to go home to have a look, or to see Professor Chen? She’s been thinking about you all these years. Whenever she gets a chance, she comes to our department to see if there’s any new news about you."

Remembering Chen Yixin, Shao Zifeng showed a slight smile, "Then let’s go see Sister Yixing first. Going home will take a few more days anyway."

"A few days?" Cang Haiyuan asked in surprise, "Do you have someone else you need to see?"

"What do you mean by that? It takes several days to get from the imperial capital to my home in Dragon City. That small place doesn’t have a teleportation array."

Slap!

Cang Haiyuan slapped his forehead and exclaimed dramatically, "Don’t tell me you haven’t contacted your family?"

Shao Zifeng blinked, a bit sheepishly, "Well, there’s basically no internet coverage abroad. I wanted to contact them, but I couldn’t."

"I’m at a loss for words with you. To ensure the safety of your family, the higher-ups moved your mother to the imperial capital last year. She lives in a community not far from the Wa Emperor Memorial Park, with 24-hour patrols by the Abnormal Administration Bureau and enforcers."

Shao Zifeng opened his mouth, "Thank you."

"Hey, it’s no big deal..."

"Roar!"

While the two were chatting, a domineering dragon’s roar suddenly came from the distance. The surrounding enforcers instantly became alert, looking up at the sky and placing their hands on their sword handles.

Boom!

A trail of fire swiftly streaked across the sky.
