My Pet Beast is Super Fearsome -
Chapter 524 - 523: The Uncle Next Door
Chapter 524: Chapter 523: The Uncle Next Door
"Ugh~"
The ’Snow Feather Owl’ spread its pristine white wings, constantly circling in the air.
The true Snow Feather Owl, foolishly gazing at the figure, became more certain that it was actually a toad, as large teardrops plopped down onto the ice floe.
"Snow..." Casar, having no choice, had to recall him to the pet space first.
After seeing Casar handle Snow Feather Owl’s matter, Shao Zifeng called out to Li Yiming, "We can start now."
Li Yiming took a deep breath, "Cannon Claw Lobster, Waterfall."
"Ga!"
At the command, the Cannon Claw Shrimp Soldier enthusiastically raised its clamps.
Its protruding eyes swirled with a pale blue elemental sheen, and visible elemental fluctuations spread outward.
Boom!
The ice floe beneath their feet trembled, and suddenly a huge bulge rose from the sea behind them, lifting the ice floe they were standing on.
"Holy shit, holy shit!"
"Ah..."
The sudden sense of weightlessness changed everyone’s expression, feeling their bodies sliding rapidly down the ice.
"Vines!"
"Cannon Claw Shrimp Soldier, quickly..."
Whoosh!
Several vines swiftly entangled everyone’s bodies and tightly hugged the giant ice below, while at the same time, the Cannon Claw Shrimp Soldier canceled the skill, the bulging sea crashed down, and the giant ice block smashed harshly onto the sea surface, splashing water onto the ice floe, drenching them completely.
The ice floe still rocked uncertainly, forcing everyone to tightly shut their eyes, clutching the vines in their hands.
After a moment, the rocking of the ice floe slowly calmed down, and they sat up, looking at each other.
"I’m sorry, I..." Li Yiming said, lowering his head in guilt, while the Cannon Claw Shrimp Soldier stood beside its master, continually bowing to everyone.
Shao Zifeng looked at his companions, who looked like drowned rats, and suddenly laughed.
Li Yiming scratched his head, puzzled, but seeing Shao Zifeng laugh, he also joined in foolishly.
They looked at each other and laughed at the sight of their messy appearance.
Seeing their smiling faces, Shao Zifeng felt touched, a feeling he had never experienced before.
He remembered what Yu Xiaoyu had said to him before getting on the plane.
"You’re not alone, try to trust them, and give yourself a chance too."
It was this phrase that made him refrain from summoning his pet throughout and instead chose to coordinate actions with others.
Though Yu Xiaoyu didn’t explicitly say so, Shao Zifeng knew what she meant.
He had always been too solitary, so much so that he never felt like he was part of a team because he believed he could handle things himself without bothering others.
Taking this opportunity, he wanted to try and, from what he could see, everything was progressing well.
"Captain, you smiled."
At that moment, Li Yiren interrupted his thoughts.
Shao Zifeng smiled at her, "You make it sound like I’m usually very serious."
"No, no, no." Li Yiren shook her head vehemently, saying earnestly, "This is different, it’s the first time in so long that I’ve seen a human smile on you."
Shao Zifeng’s face darkened. What kind of thing was that to say?
"No, no, that’s not what I meant, it was a pet’s smile toward a human."
"Enough," Shao Zifeng tapped Li Yiren on the head, "Stop guessing, let’s try this again, and make it to the island before sunset."
Standing on a vast block of ice, Shao Zifeng looked towards the direction of the setting sun, "Do you have confidence!"
"Yes!"
"Hah!"
Boom!
As soon as the words fell, the sea surface surged again, and the ice beneath their feet was lifted once more.
"Damn, Cannon Claw Shrimp Soldiers, we still weren’t ready... gurgle gurgle"
...
By the time the broken ice reached the island, a crescent moon was already hanging in the sky.
A few people dragged their weary bodies onto the beach and then lay on the fine white sand like dead pigs, as Xiang Nan stared blankly at the cloudless night sky, "We survived."
Compared to the other’s physical conditions, Shao Zifeng, having undergone several enhancements, was undoubtedly much better. He got up from the sand and patted off the fine sand from his body.
At the sound of movement, the energetic Hu Shiwu was the first to get up, "Captain, what are you doing?"
"You guys rest for a while. I’m going to find some dry wood to start a fire." While speaking, the Space Rift slowly opened, and Yaya affectionately nudged Shao Zifeng.
Shao Zifeng patted its big head and climbed onto the rocks protruding from its body, "Don’t wander off, wait for me to come back."
Amid heavy footsteps, Yaya carried Shao Zifeng towards the dense forest on the island.
Watching his back, Xiang Nan gritted his teeth and stood up.
"I’ll go check out the surroundings and maybe hunt some game," he said as his pupils turned a bleak white and his figure, entwined with black smoke, slowly vanished into the air.
Casar thought for a moment, "Find water."
After speaking, he also summoned a new pet beast, a bird wrapped in black smoke landed on his arm; Casar nodded to the others and departed.
Hu Shiwu looked at Li Yiren, then at Li Yiming, and felt somewhat uncomfortable staying there.
His eyes flicked around as he thought of an excuse.
"You guys wait here for the captain to come back. I’ll go with the Sleeping Orchid to find some fruits. Just in case Xiang Nan doesn’t find any food, we won’t starve to death." He said, and quickly ran off.
In the blink of an eye, only two people were left on the beach.
Li Yiren sat up. She placed her delicate chin on her knees, embracing her legs, lost in thought as she watched the white waves.
The serene moonlight spread over the white beach, and Li Yiren’s hair fluttered gently in the night wind, appearing tranquil and beautiful under the moonlight.
Li Yiming also wanted to do something but was worried about his sister.
He grew somewhat restless, "Yiren, do you have something on your mind?"
"Not at all." Li Yiren’s eyes seemed unfocused, but the corners of her mouth wore a sweet smile, "Suddenly having so many interesting friends, I’m really happy."
"Oh."
Seeing his sister’s smile, Li Yiming’s heart also gradually became calm, and he sat next to her watching the distant waves, "Me too, I’m very happy."
After a moment of silence, Li Yiren suddenly spoke up, "Li Yiming, do you have any plans for the future?"
"The future?"
Li Yiming looked a bit bewildered, not quite understanding why Li Yiren would bring this up.
"Yes, the future." Li Yiren turned her head and looked straight at him, "Don’t you want to know about our parents at all?"
"Our parents aren’t they long..."
"Dead, right?" Li Yiren’s gaze returned to where the sky met the sea at night, and after a moment she suddenly spoke, "Do you know what the neighbor uncle’s surname is?"
"The uncle’s surname isn’t..."
Li Yiming opened his mouth but couldn’t say his surname, because they had always called him uncle since they could remember.
The neighbor uncle, familiar in memory, suddenly seemed like a stranger, which made Li Yiming inexplicably irritable.
