My Monster-Derived Skills Are the True Power -
Chapter 12: Lavish Generosity with Others' Assets
Cai Jun and Xu Peng felt dazed as the club members lifted them up.
What was going on?
How had they suddenly turned foes into friends?
And what was this talk about a striker? Had Hall Master Shi been bewitched by some demonic influence?
When they heard mentions of advanced civilizations, spatial jumps, interstellar bandits, and spiritual energy more powerful than that of gods, the surreal feeling reached its peak. Xu Peng even pinched his thigh discreetly, and the sharp pain confirmed this wasn’t a dream—it was all real.
They had seen a ghost!
Unlike the bewildered Xu Peng and Cai Jun, Shi Xiang, who had directly benefited, wholeheartedly believed Yu Fei’s story.
Only by accepting it could he make sense of tonight’s inexplicable events. A broken ankle, no matter the medicine, wouldn’t heal immediately unless divine intervention was involved.
Shi Xiang had initially planned to feign cooperation with Li Ye, waiting for an opportunity to either kill him or escape. But now he changed his mind. Gods were rare encounters, and Li Ye was far more significant than his own master.First, he had obtained the Dragon Emperor Technique, and now he had met a deity. At this moment, Shi Xiang even felt like he was the legendary protagonist blessed by destiny. The next step would surely be following a restored deity to the celestial realm—or even beyond, to an advanced civilization!
You say Li Ye is an interstellar bandit?
Well, many people call the Scarlet Flame Sect a demonic cult too.
When they arrived at the cave, Shi Xiang’s belief grew firmer.
The cave was a mess. Ironclad evidence proved the accounts were true. There was no way anyone would go to such lengths to stage this for him.
The people left behind in the cave, upon learning what had happened outside, grew increasingly despondent. If even the chosen ones could be replaced, what hope did they have of making it out?
It was past midnight, but Li Ye was still full of energy. This was the effect of demonic energy. Most Demon Hunters who wielded demon artifacts had abundant energy and rarely needed sleep.
“Shi Xiang, let me see the Dragon Emperor Technique,” Li Ye demanded with confidence. “I want to understand the evolution of your civilization and see if it can aid my recovery.”
Shi Xiang didn’t hesitate at all and handed the book to Li Ye. Having benefited from Li Ye’s spiritual energy, he hoped for even more. The book was no longer of much concern to him.
The football team members watched the Dragon Emperor Technique with longing eyes. Many of them swallowed hard but knew that now it was out of their reach. With resigned expressions, they averted their gazes and sighed inwardly. What kind of absurdity was this?
During his training with the Demon Hunting Bureau, Li Ye had studied internal martial arts using his demon artifact, so he was no stranger to such techniques.
Now, with his body significantly enhanced by demonic energy, he could even achieve photographic memory. In fact, every Temporal Walker had this ability. Without it, the high rate of item loss during time travel would prevent them from bringing back vast amounts of knowledge and resources from other civilizations.
The Dragon Emperor Technique wasn’t very lengthy. A quick scan was enough for Li Ye to commit it to memory.
He then tossed the book to Liu Guangsheng, saying, “Everyone should take a look. See if it helps your martial arts.”
Xu Peng and the others widened their eyes in disbelief. “Hall Master?”
Shi Xiang glanced back at them with a faint smile and said, “Li Ye’s decisions are my decisions. If not for his mercy, we’d already be dead. The Dragon Emperor Technique rightfully belongs to him. How he chooses to handle it is none of our business.”
Liu Guangsheng fumbled to catch the book, overwhelmed with gratitude. “Li Ye, we can read it too?”
“Of course,” Li Ye replied, glancing at him. “In advanced civilizations, all knowledge is open to the public. Only through widespread learning can civilization progress.
“In contrast, backward civilizations restrict the dissemination of knowledge. Not only can you read it, but everyone in the cave can too. I’ve said it before: we’ll seize the Dragon Emperor Technique, the Heavenly Dao Alliance, and the Scarlet Flame Sect.
“From now on, all the manuals we obtain will be shared openly. Everyone will have the chance to train.
“Besides, if you don’t master advanced techniques, how will we face future enemies? Do you expect Li Ye to charge into battle alone every time?”
Advanced civilizations shared their knowledge openly?
Now, that was vision!
Liu Guangsheng was awestruck. He expressed his thanks and began studying the Dragon Emperor Technique intently. Li Ye was right. They needed to grow stronger to avoid being left behind.
Hearing this, those who had contemplated betraying Li Ye exchanged uneasy glances. Their once-firm resolve began to waver. Access to martial arts manuals without the humiliation of begging—staying here was undoubtedly better than groveling for scraps at another sect.
Observing their reactions, Li Ye smirked inwardly. This wasn’t even his to begin with. Since he’d only stay in this world for a year, there was no point in hoarding it. Using it to win loyalty, reinforce his persona, and strengthen his guards—why not?
What happened after he left wasn’t his concern.
Ignoring the others engrossed in reading the Dragon Emperor Technique, Li Ye began practicing its techniques.
For Temporal Walkers, enjoying the resources of another world was a given.
With demonic energy’s assistance, his progress was swift. In no time, he gathered a warm current of internal energy in his dantian.
Demonic energy far surpassed internal energy in potency. Guided by the demonic energy, the internal energy coursed through his meridians, growing stronger with every circuit.
After circulating the energy through several cycles, his dantian was brimming with powerful internal energy. He pulled out a dagger and, following the manual’s instructions, channeled the energy into the blade.
With demonic energy amplifying the internal energy, the dagger emitted a resonant dragon’s cry, its tip glowing with a foot-long white aura, unsteady but menacing.
Watching this, Shi Xiang couldn’t help but exclaim, “Sword Qi!”
Li Ye slashed the nearby rock with the blade. The glowing aura cut cleanly through it, leaving a mirror-smooth surface.
Gulping sounds filled the cave as Yu Fei stammered, “Innate Expert!”
Everyone stared at Li Ye in disbelief. How had he achieved such profound internal energy in just half an hour?
Taking in their reactions, Li Ye feigned dissatisfaction, sighing, “Primitive civilizations really are inefficient in harnessing energy.”
A heavy silence fell. The crowd’s eyes, however, brimmed with fervor.
At this moment, there was no more doubt in their minds: only a deity could so effortlessly master such advanced techniques and achieve instantaneous results.
