When Liu Yiyi’s assistant was arrested, she was somewhat dazed. She answered whatever the police asked her.

Ever since Liu Yiyi fell from the TV station’s grace, her status plummeted. If it weren’t for Qin Zhiyou’s support, she would have hit rock bottom much earlier. However, even when Qin Zhiyou stopped using Liu Yiyi and stopped providing financial support, thinking her prospects were bleak, she resigned. But before she resigned, Liu Yiyi gave her a sum of money to buy a few unregistered travel SIM cards that work in the mainland while on a business trip to Hong Kong, and to open a Hong Kong bank account.

Having received the money, she certainly helped with the tasks, successfully obtaining the SIM cards and opening the account for Liu Yiyi. One or two weeks later, Liu Yiyi contacted her again, mentioning there was a sum of money she needed help to transfer to an account, saying it was for securing a future role. The assistant didn’t suspect anything and quickly made the transfer.

She knew nothing about the rest.

Whether or not the assistant knew the truth is another matter, but once Liu Yiyi was discovered, the police acted immediately. But, by a stroke of misfortune, Liu Yiyi had already left for Hong Kong three days before the incident unfolded. Moreover, from Hong Kong, she went to Europe.

It wasn’t quite clear before, but her flight practically announced to the world that she was escaping. With her trail, it became much easier to investigate other matters, such as incidentally discovering she was currently being kept by Qin Zhizha, who had given her a considerable amount of money in the past few months. There was already discord between the main and third household of the Qin Family, and now with the crisis at Hanhai Group, it’s questionable whether this kidnapping was an act of betrayal from within, deliberate in nature.

The biggest issue was that the two kidnappers were bodyguards from the club where Qin Zhizha used to seek entertainment, commonly hanging out with Qin Zhizha.

Anyhow, the police took the opportunity to head to the station and brought Qin Zhizha in for questioning. Qin Zhizha was confused when he was arrested. He indeed wanted Qin Zhiyou to suffer and disdained Lu Weixi, but kidnapping was something he had never done.

But when the police came to the Qin family’s residence to arrest someone, Cai Yiren wept and wailed. With the second and third families present, she clutched Qin Zhizha, nearly fainting: "Zhizhi, I could never have imagined that we’d only been married for such a short time and you’ve already taken a mistress. Even less could I have imagined that this mistress was Qin Zhiyou’s ex! But what I absolutely did not expect was that you would even let her take revenge on Lu Weixi! Even if you blame her for me losing our child, you can’t do such a thing!"

As she spoke these words, Qin Weijia slapped her across the face, livid to the point of turning pale: "Our Zhizhi is not like that, if you can’t speak properly, then don’t speak at all!"

Cai Yiren, lying on the ground after being struck, wasn’t angry, but looked aggrieved: "Mom, the facts are right in front of us, even the mistress has confessed about Zhizhi, if it’s not him then who could it be? Cai Yiren stuttered in reply: "What about Lu Weixi then? Was she really abducted? Is she still alive? Has anything happened to her? Although I had conflicts with her before, I never wished to see her dead."
