With police involvement, surveillance footage was quickly retrieved. But to this point, the kidnappers had not made a single phone call. If it were for money, they would have stated their demands by now. If it were for love or revenge, there were only so many people Lu Weixi could have provoked. Yet with no evidence, no one dared to act rashly and risk startling the kidnapper.

The situation was at a stalemate.
