Lu Weixi finally dared to speak: "What dishes are we preparing? So tiring. I’d rather just go home and have a ready meal."

Qin Zhiyou didn’t mind and stretched lazily before opening the car door to get out. After stepping out, he didn’t forget to turn back and help his wife. Together, they looked towards the entrance of their building, only to discover that a car was parked there.

This was what Secretary Wang meant by having to come back just after leaving, but the car wasn’t Bai Changyou’s, nor Cai Yiren’s; it had nothing to do with the third or second branches of the Qin Family either. However, having lived at the old house for so many years, both Lu Weixi and Qin Zhiyou recognized it: it was Grandpa Qin’s car.

The two exchanged a glance, both somewhat surprised. Lu Weixi noticed Qin Zhiyou’s clothes were a bit disheveled and helped him tidy up before they pushed open the entrance door and went in.

Upon arriving home, it indeed was Grandpa Qin. He sat on the sofa, with Mom Lu by his side. The coffee table was set with Kung Fu tea, its fragrance lingering. They both called out "Mom" and "Grandpa" as they entered.

Mom Lu nodded, but ever since the two walked in, Grandpa Qin had his eyes on Lu Weixi, scanning her. The pregnancy was quite noticeable, and Grandpa Qin saw it at a glance. He chuckled happily, "How many months?"

Lu Weixi replied, "Seven months."

"Seven months..." That meant the child was already conceived during the time Lu Weixi and Qin Zhiyou were not getting along, right? When he first heard they reconciled, he was a bit surprised. After all, there was a time Lu Weixi returned to the old house and proposed a divorce, with Qin Zhiyou agreeing, and he had even gone to look for Fang Rushuang. Yet, in just a few months, the child has grown this much.

Moreover, seeing as Qin Zhiyou was settling in so familiarly, living in a domestic manner, one didn’t need to think twice to know for sure they had reconciled. Grandpa Qin didn’t want to ask about the process; he just nodded, "Good, good, it’s good to be together."

Qin Zhiyou quickly said, "Grandpa, it’s not that I didn’t want to tell you, but Xixi was worried about too many opinions from the family. Plus, she’s still working, with a lot on her plate, and she wanted to be close to take care of Mom, so we moved here. As for me, I’ve been working away for a while, and I was planning to visit you after wrapping up, but I didn’t expect you to come personally."

The old Mr. Qin smiled, "How you live your little life is your business, as long as you both know what you’re doing. But today, apart from coming to see you, I have another matter to discuss with you."

Qin Zhiyou stood up straight and nodded.

Qin Zhiyou led Grandpa Qin to the bedroom, while Lu Weixi didn’t follow; she stayed in the living room to chat with her mother. Mom Lu rarely saw Grandpa Qin, partly because old Mr. Qin himself wasn’t well and seldom left his home. She also didn’t want to visit the Qin Family estate and be looked down upon, so they interacted infrequently.

But Lu Weixi was very respectful towards this grandfather. From their brief encounter, he had no qualms about the small place, the subpar environment, and the fact that the two had married without informing him, nor was he angry, and he seemed very approachable.

Lu Weixi wanted to order some takeaway, but Mom Lu shook her head, put on an apron, and went to cook in the kitchen. She didn’t cook often; because she was once a wealthy wife attended by others, and her health was not great, she wasn’t much of a cook. But with a guest in the house, ordering takeaway seemed a bit inappropriate, so Lu Weixi followed to help out.

In the bedroom, old Mr. Qin indeed immediately asked, "I heard you reformed the board of directors."
