Chapter 806: Chapter 805: Xinhu at Night

"Extreme Authority?"

"Divine Spirit’s family? Isn’t that pseudo-god’s household registration just left with himself?"

Han Fei and Soul of Evil both looked at Mr. Mo. Being stared at like this, Mr. Mo felt suffocated and quickly explained, "The eyeball contains divinity. This white-haired elder is recognized by the Divine Spirit as ’family.’ Killing him is equivalent to directly challenging the Divine Spirit."

"How do you know this?"

"Extreme Authority is the existence you can least provoke in the building. You should still remember the Dancer, right? He used to be an Extreme Authority from the fiftieth floor. After sacrificing everything, he and the Florist escaped when the Divine Spirit fell into slumber." Mr. Mo revealed another secret to Han Fei.

"The Dancer was once an Extreme Authority?"

"The Divine Spirit has killed countless people throughout his life. Many fear him, dread him, want to kill him, but few have helped him. According to the Dancer, all Extreme Authorities are those who once helped the Divine Spirit selflessly, without any interest involved, during his life." Mr. Mo noticed the elder’s head was continuously bleeding, and anxiously waved his hand, "Anyway, don’t kill him now; that eyeball represents the Divine Spirit."

"I’ve interrogated him using various methods, but he would rather die than reveal the Divine Spirit’s secrets. Now I understand the issue lies with this eyeball." Soul of Evil seemed to have finally figured it out, lifting the elder with one hand, as countless Destiny Threads surged towards the elder’s head!

"What are you doing!" Mr. Mo was dumbfounded.

"I want to devour the god’s eye, to glimpse the god’s destiny." The body constructed of flesh and remnant limbs expanded to both sides, Soul of Evil drawing upon all his power, his mouth tearing bit by bit, preparing to swallow the eyeball.

"You’re mad, truly mad!" Mr. Mo had never seen anyone like this before; he grabbed Han Fei’s clothes, hoping Han Fei would stop Soul of Evil, but Han Fei’s expression was one of sheer anticipation.

What does a god matter? Only he can treat people like flowers to cultivate, but won’t allow someone to devour his eyes?

Countless Destiny Threads rooted into the elder’s head, advancing step by step, severing the eyeball’s connection to the outside world.

The elder sensed an unprecedented threat and began to struggle violently. Prepared in advance, Soul of Evil directly let flesh spread onto the elder, merging the bodies of both the elder and the Director.

"You can’t escape, let me taste the Divine Spirit’s flesh!"

A piercing scream erupted, and the blood-red eye embedded deep in the elder’s head was slowly extracted by the Destiny Threads.

Black rain poured more heavily, a storm swept, thunder roared, and the skyscraper lightly trembled.

The special eyeball emitted a blood-red light, its contained murderous intent easily severing approaching Destiny Threads, but Soul of Evil was no easy prey. For every Destiny Thread broken, ten threads would instantly replenish. Today, he was determined to eat the divinity-containing eyeball, and savor the unspeakable taste.

Exerting his full strength, mobilizing all Destiny Threads within the building, Soul of Evil still couldn’t completely detach the eyeball from the elder’s head.

"Let me try." Han Fei struggled to support his body, took out the Rebirth Slaughter Saber, and pushed the blade imbued with humanity to its utmost, slashing at the junction between the elder’s head and the eyeball!

With the cooperation of the Rebirth Slaughter Saber and Destiny Threads, the special eye was finally dislodged!

Once the eyeball left the elder’s head, it emitted immense pressure, the blood color radiating outwards, everything in the building submitted to it unconditionally. If the blood light spreads, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Soul of Evil was acutely aware, without hesitation, he swallowed the Divine Spirit’s eye whole!

"Extreme Authority is the overseer left by the Divine Spirit within the building. They are the eyes left by the Divine Spirit in the building. If you just killed him, it might have been fine, but devouring the divine eye, you will be marked by the Divine Spirit forever, undying and endless." Mr. Mo’s expression soured, regretful for entangling himself with these people.

After devouring the divine eye, Soul of Evil began to use the abilities left by the second Brain Fragment to attempt digestion.

Although number two and the skyscraper’s owner are both unspeakable, the Director inherited part of the second brain fragment’s abilities, and the eyeball left by the Divine Spirit just contained a segment of will.

The Divine Spirit would likely never imagine someone daring to enter the skyscraper and eat away his "eye."

The storm outside grew more fierce, and no one knew when the Divine Spirit might awaken. Soul of Evil couldn’t concern himself with other matters now. He seemed mad, using all possible means to bury accumulated Destiny Threads into the Divine Spirit’s eyeball.

"Let me devour you, devour you, devour you!"

The flesh on Soul of Evil’s body started to disintegrate, leaving him defenseless, gathering all heinous fate to stab at that eyeball.

If he couldn’t swallow it, then he himself would be devoured; this game was dangerous yet fair.

In the relentless exchange without retreat, the unsupported Divine Spirit’s eyeball gradually fell behind, with cracks appearing here and there.

With a roar that shook the soul, the eyeball shattered, and the contained Divine Spirit’s will was penetrated by countless Destiny Threads.

Different people have different destiny threads, but at the moment the eyeball shattered, everyone’s fate was dyed blood red.

Each thread resembled the paths taken by countless living beings across the entire city, converging in the darkness to weave an incredibly shocking future.

"Xinhu City District is destroyed! All those Game Boxes have turned into coffins! His target is ’Perfect Life’!"

Flesh exploded, and the future in the darkness shattered before Han Fei’s eyes.

"Fu Sheng built ’Perfect Life’ in an attempt to transform the Shallow World into a super Paradise, using the positive emotions of the Mortal World to dissolve the pain of the Deep World. But now, the Garden Owner and the Will of Dream, perhaps even other unspeakable entities, want to use the Shallow World as a stepping stone to influence reality in return."

A chill surged from behind Han Fei. He had always regarded the three crime organizations as mere clubs for psychopathic murderers, but their true objectives had been perfectly concealed.

All the slaughter and chaos were preparations for the final step. Perhaps, by now, some ’filthy things’ have already infiltrated Eternal Life Pharmaceutical and Deep Space Technology.

"No wonder the building is in such turmoil, the Divine Spirit hasn’t even awakened yet, his layout in reality might be very close to success!"

The Director’s near-decaying body began to reorganize swiftly, and the Soul of Evil was also aware of the severity of the situation. Once the Garden Owner succeeds, it wouldn’t just be one or two people dying.

"Fu Sheng is truly dead, and Li Xue’s teacher might have been killed too. The bravest people in Xinhu have left one after another, no wonder these Ghosts and Monsters dare to run wild." The Soul of Evil looked at Han Fei: "But speaking of which, that friend who gave you the Brain Fragment is really amazing. Did he foresee everything, see the future? Is that why he deliberately placed the shattered brain here waiting for you?"

"Are you talking about the second child in the Orphanage?" Han Fei looked up at his own Soul of Evil.

"I wanted to tell you that you are not alone in fighting against them." The look in the Soul of Evil’s eyes was cruel yet sanguinary, and he smiled joyously.

"Shouldn’t I be the one telling you that? You really think of yourself as a Good Soul?" Han Fei gathered everyone together, preparing to immediately exit the game and inform the police of what he knew: "After I leave, stay on the twenty-fifth floor, guard this place, and wait for my return!"

After making arrangements, Han Fei found a safe room and pressed the Game Exit Key.

Blood covered everything, and in this blood-red space, only Han Fei and the Blood Shadow emerging from behind the Ghost Gate could move.

The Blood Shadow initially seemed to have other thoughts, but after seeing Han Fei’s back, it stayed obediently in place.

Tilting his head slightly, Han Fei still couldn’t clearly see the blood figure standing behind him; he merely felt that the other person’s body was no longer separate from his but showing signs of merging.

"That bloody figure, always standing behind me, is Kuangxiao, right?"

Opening his eyes, he felt a sharp pain throughout his body, and Han Fei pushed open the door of the Game Box, staggering towards the fridge.

He ate while trying to quickly calm himself down.

After easing the physical pain slightly, he immediately took out his phone and called Li Xue.

The phone that usually got answered after only a few rings now echoed with a prolonged busy tone.

"Did something happen?"

Putting on clothes, Han Fei ran out the door, continually dialing the phone along the way, but no one answered.

Catching a cab to the city precinct, Han Fei explained his purpose to the staff, but they weren’t too sure either.

After asking many people, it was finally the archive manager who met Han Fei and informed him that Li Xue’s teacher fainted shortly after Han Fei left. The elderly man experienced multiple organ failures, as if someone once determined to hold on suddenly had no regrets or concerns anymore.

At Han Fei’s insistent request, the manager arranged for someone to take Han Fei to the best hospital in Xinhu.

After passing through a police-guarded corridor, Han Fei was brought to the outside of a hospital room where Li Xue and her two senior brothers were.

"Li Xue, how is your teacher?"

"Not too optimistic." The usually efficient and decisive Li Xue showed a look of panic and helplessness for the first time.

"Can I go in and take a look?" Han Fei stood outside the hospital room, looking inside through the glass window on the door.

Li Xue’s teacher seemed to be asleep, with his eyes tightly closed, lying on the hospital bed.
