Chapter 753: Sunshine Boy Han Fei

Chapter 753: Chapter 753: Sunshine Boy Han Fei

After reading copious amounts of dark material, Han Fei’s eyebrows furrowed, his nerves, honed in the Deep World, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, let alone an average person with normal psychological resilience.

The chaotic flow of information outside the network cocoon was not something just anyone could delve into and understand, one careless step could trap oneself.

Those already psychologically warped become even more pathological here; mature-minded average people, lured by these things, would gradually lower their boundaries and grow into monsters with masks.

This gray area lacks the bloody brutality of the Deep World, but it is even dirtier and more unbearable.

Through research and observation, Han Fei had successfully infiltrated a Death Spread Group Chat.

All member information was confidential, everyone used pseudonyms, and each group had one responsible administrator and three coordinators. Their chats were unrestricted, sharing death, creating death, like a madhouse.

What made Han Fei shudder even more was that once these "madhouse" residents removed their masks, they might put on a brand new face during the day, living amongst us, greeting us amiably every day.

"The Murder Club caters mainly to high-end members and core members, Sunday Night School is responsible for training the backbone, and the Death Spread Group Chat is their tool for influencing more normal people, these three are insidiously eroding the city, like a virus."

Not long after joining the group chat, someone started contacting Han Fei. They were extremely vigilant, and upon discovering that Han Fei was using a new account, they decisively kicked him out.

Joining the Death Spread Group Chat required consent from old members and managers, and of course, there were those with exceptional talents who were directly pulled into the group by the group owner.

In order to gain a deeper understanding of his opponent, Han Fei spent a considerable sum on the black market to acquire a virtual privilege that could evade surveillance. He named his virtual account in the gray area—Sunshine Boy.

He then began his plan. With his rich experience in killing accrued in the Deep World and having encountered hundreds of different types of psychopaths, Han Fei could be called a dark encyclopedia.

Incomparable in actual combat experience, a master of criminal psychology, with a circle of friends comprised of nearly ninety-five percent ghosts and madmen, and endowed with master-level acting, he caught the attention of those scoundrels in just half an hour.

But Han Fei was not in a hurry, knowing that quality would always shine through, a saying that held true anywhere. He gradually sculpted himself into an ultimate bad guy in his communications; even Butterfly, if it came by, would probably lament that such a pervert could exist in the world.

Han Fei’s plan was actually quite simple: since he couldn’t find the core members of the Murder Club and Sunday Night School, then he would become one of them and clear everything up.

Compared to ordinary people, aside from his outstanding personal assets, Han Fei had another advantage: Shen Luo.

Last night’s encounter made Han Fei realize something—the consciousness of dreams had somehow infected Shen Luo, leading many beasts related to "Dream" to mistake Shen Luo for the "Dream’s substitute."

Shen Luo would definitely not cooperate with those people, but it would be different if Han Fei intervened.

Spending two hours, Han Fei had become a manager of a certain death chat group, and had also established the persona for his virtual account, Sunshine Boy.

In a post discussing corpse hiding, he rebuked all the murderers who thought they had perfectly concealed their corpses, one against ten, with clear and convincing arguments.

In a virtual case simulation discussion, he caught all the hidden murderers, then started scolding them, telling them it was better to not commit crimes with such stupid brains, and they might as well kill themselves in a place where no one was around.

Arrogant, frantic, unbridled, evil to the extreme, ferociously brutal; with an extremely high IQ and a flawed personality, he was a psychopath feared even by other psychopaths—that was the impression Sunshine Boy Han Fei left on the criminals in the gray area.

In just one afternoon, those three organizations had begun to quietly approach Han Fei in their own ways, but Han Fei ignored them, even showing contempt.

"Tired of scolding, I’ll continue tomorrow." Han Fei logged out of the gray area, cleared all traces, and then started cooking in the kitchen.

Since playing "Perfect Life," Han Fei’s cooking skills had greatly improved; he had cooked meals at Fu Sheng’s house for an entire month.

The aroma soon wafted from the kitchen, and as Han Fei ate his meal, he called Li Xue and offered some suggestions on cybersecurity.

The Xinhu Police had been tightening surveillance, but as long as there were people active, there would always be a gray area, especially in networks where everyone wears a mask.

After a satisfying meal, Han Fei began studying online; it’s important to keep making progress, knowing a little about each profession, as you never know when it might come in handy in some Shrine Memory World.

At half past eleven in the evening, Han Fei put on the gaming helmet and lay in the game pod.

Blood descended, and as always, he looked behind him; that bloody figure was clinging tightly to his back, their skin seemingly glued together.

Every time he logged in or out of the game, Han Fei lingered on that screen for a moment, watching that bloody body slowly merge with him.

"I thought back-to-back was already close, turns out it’s not the limit? Is this blood person Kuangxiao’s soul?"

Opening his eyes, Han Fei appeared at the location where he had logged off, with Cry and Ying Yue guarding outside his room like door attendants.

"These two kids are becoming more dependent on me." Han Fei patted Cry’s head; he didn’t understand the world of children well—perhaps each time he logged off, Cry and Ying Yue worried he might never come back.

Stepping out of the cabin, Han Fei looked over the Monster City that was being constructed, where everything was proceeding in an orderly manner. The Ghost Manager had selected suitable people from the citizens and taught them how to suppress evil spirits with the Slaughter Saber.

The strength of the neighbors and the citizens was continuously growing, but this was far from enough for Han Fei. To face the Unspeakable and to contend with the will of Dreams, he had to venture further, to obtain more sinister and potent powers.

Through the Death Building Owners’ group chat, Han Fei roughly understood the various events that had occurred in these three areas during his absence.

Xu Qin and the Painter had reached an agreement—the Death Building Owners were ready to return the faceless woman to the Painter. In compensation, under the oath sworn in front of the department store’s Shrine, the Painter would help Han Fei for a year without any cost.

Everyone thought that one year was too short, but Han Fei felt it was a good deal. A lot would happen in the coming year, and when the time came, it might not be up to the Painter to decide whether he could leave or not.

Han Fei was very confident about this.

The Painter used some of the limbs and bodies left behind by the Plastic Surgery Hospital to reconstruct a body for the faceless woman. He also painted his Curse on her, ensuring she would not betray him and the white sneakers again.

Thus, the three areas owned by Han Fei were officially unified, and he had become the Manager of the three areas.

After stabilizing the internal situation, Han Fei pulled out the map to prepare for exploration. He summoned Zhuang Wen and the one-eyed shop assistant Yinglong.

With Xu Qin and the Mirror God stationed internally, Zhuang Wen led neighbors willing to venture out and enhance their strength around the surroundings. Upon reaching a new place, they would establish a Yimin Convenience Store there according to Han Fei’s suggestion.

Without violence or slaughter, they first exchanged resources and information with a Yimin Convenience Store, gradually figured out the situation in the area, and then made final plans.

"Next, you need to pay close attention to these three places."

Han Fei recalled the map Du Jing had shown him in reality and marked three spots for his neighbors—an old Ancestral House, a towering Skyscraper, and a chain of Clubs.

"The location of the Ancestral House is quite remote, and almost no one from the Death Building Area has ever been there; this Skyscraper is the core of several nearby areas, visible to all Ghosts and Monsters with just a glance, yet no one knows who the owner is, and it is said that those who enter never come out again; as for that Club, we just went there a few hours ago, and it’s not too dangerous." Yinglong spoke up directly after seeing the buildings Han Fei marked: "Shop Manager, are you sure you remember correctly?"

"You went to that Club?"

"There are many of these Clubs, set up in various places; you rarely see anyone entering, and most buildings are empty."

"Did you find anything suspicious in there?" Han Fei looked at Yinglong with a hint of expectation in his eyes.

"Those Clubs seem to be showcasing death. Inside each Club, there seems to be a special mirror that can reflect the appearance of death and absorb Death Intent." Yinglong took out a bloody ledger from his convenience store uniform: "I like to collect various goods, and I’ve also brought that mirror to the department store. The Mirror God said after seeing it that it’s contaminated with a hint of the Unspeakable."

"So, does that mean a Death Club is backed by an Unspeakable entity?"

"Pretty much, the majority of the Clubs only hold a mirror. According to the Mirror God’s speculation, an extremely small number of Clubs contain Shrines instead of mirrors. We need to find the Shrine to determine the identity of the Unspeakable entity." Yinglong visited the department store daily for supplies and had grown quite familiar with the Mirror God, learning a lot.

"How to determine it? By putting Big Evil in?" Han Fei was a bit curious.

Yinglong waved his hands repeatedly: "If we put Big Evil in, it would be undying and endless enmity. Shrines are also graded; through the Level of the Shrine, we can gauge the strength of the Unspeakable entity. Of course, even the weakest Unspeakable entity is not something we can afford to provoke."

"If only Gesheng were still here," Han Fei said with some regret, but the neighbors beside him all showed bitter smiles.

If it wasn’t for consideration for Fu Sheng, Gesheng would probably be the first to kill Han Fei.

"Let’s take it slow, the more so at such a time, the less we can rush." Han Fei called Yinglong and Zhuang Wen to join him. They headed to the edge of the Paradise Area. Han Fei’s Life Value was sucked nearly dry by the Paradise Shrine, and he didn’t dare to go to places that were too dangerous.

However, the system’s quest trigger mechanism had a perverse pattern; the more dangerous the place was for Han Fei, the more likely he was to trigger high-reward quests.

To successfully log off, Han Fei lingered at the edge of Paradise for a full three hours before he finally received the first mission.

"Player number 0000, please note! You have entered an unknown area. By exploring eighty percent of the area, you will successfully illuminate the map of this zone."

"Player number 0000, please note! You have successfully triggered an E-level daily mission—’Hobbies and Interests.’

"Healthy hobbies and interests can cultivate our thinking skills, motivate us, allow us to draw energy, enable us to proceed strongly toward our goals, and fully stimulate our potential."

"At level 25, you have formed harmonious neighbor relationships, accrued rich professional experience, and solved basic living issues. Now you will strive for a higher quality of life."

"Mission requirements: Please reach a Club where you can cultivate hobbies and interests within twenty-four hours, become a member there, and determine your hobbies and interests."

"Remember! A perfect life is not just about work, you need to live, not just exist."
