My ‘Healing’ Game -

Chapter 540: Chapter 540: Adapted from a True Experience
Shocked by Han Fei’s response, Shen Luo was greatly shaken, "Brother Fu Yi, you can’t just break moral boundaries because this is happening in a game! It’s better to be faithful to one, be careful of retribution."
"I do want to be faithful, but I am in a relatively passive position in my relationships with the seven of them." While others are pursued, Han Fei is hunted, and people can understand the feeling that one could be served up on the dining table at any moment.
"Seven, seven?!" Shen Luo was so astonished that he couldn’t close his mouth and didn’t even know how to start talking.
"There might be even more." Han Fei sighed lightly.
The two players stood in the storeroom, troubled differently by the same issue.
"You first check if there are any old clothes in the storeroom and hurry to change out of your hospital gown; I’ll go get you some food."
In the Shrine Memory World, not eating for a long period causes one’s physical condition to deteriorate, making one more vulnerable to attacks from Ghosts and Monsters.
Before leaving, Han Fei carefully removed the mirror and threw it into the trash outside.
Seeing the spirited, sharply dressed Han Fei walk out, Shen Luo, still in his hospital gown, shrank into a corner. Upon entering this world, he was first treated as a regular patient in a Plastic Surgery Hospital, then as a recalcitrant patient under close watch, and finally as a special patient with mental issues needing compulsory treatment. He had escaped the Plastic Surgery Hospital after a number of near-death escapes from hiding in fear.
Huddled with his knees to his chest, Shen Luo hid in the shadow behind the shelves, feeling a bit wronged.
He had thought the Hidden Map was very dangerous and terrifying, and that everyone would be like him, but after witnessing Han Fei’s ordeal, it felt like his resilient heart had been struck by a cement truck.
"Are we playing the same game? He even managed to maintain a harem in the Hidden Map? Seven, a whole seven!"
Feeling wronged, Shen Luo noticed the coffee left on the shelf by Han Fei. Having not eaten or drunk anything all night, Shen Luo licked his dry, cracked lips.
"Envy, jealousy, hatred, I’m annoyed! I’ll drink your ’love coffee’!"
When he picked up the cup of coffee, he saw a pink heart-shaped note on it: "Such cute writing. To be liked by such a beautiful and gentle girl and still be unsatisfied, the favored ones always act with impunity."
Shen Luo took a sip of the coffee and found it quite tasty, then he gulped down a big mouthful.
"This coffee tastes really good, but why do I feel so... dizzy?" Shen Luo sat on the ground with the coffee in his hand, feeling his tongue go numb. He touched his mouth and seemed to notice foam: "The coffee here on the Hidden Map is quite strong."
Setting down the coffee, Shen Luo fell into a deep sleep.
Twenty minutes later, Han Fei returned with stuff he bought from the convenience store downstairs.
"Where is he? Time to eat."
He walked to the last row of shelves and finally saw Shen Luo, foaming at the mouth, sleeping soundly despite his Luck Value being zero.
"Looks like there really was something wrong with the coffee." Han Fei checked on Shen Luo, "Breathing normal, there’s a heartbeat, no life-threatening condition, it’s just unconsciousness; Li Guo’er didn’t use poison."
Han Fei tried to analyze Li Guo’er’s motive: "She must have intended to knock me out, pretending to take me to the hospital to bring me somewhere and then kill me slowly? Or sever my limbs to keep me with her forever?"
The more Han Fei thought about it, the more terrified he became. Li Guo’er looked sweet and charming, even scholarly and intelligent with glasses on, but if one thought that was all she was, they would be greatly mistaken.
"Her Hatred for me has decreased by five points, now she must be feeling both love and hate toward me, torturing while enjoying the exclusivity?" Han Fei lightly tapped Shen Luo’s face, who was sleeping very deeply: "I don’t know what Li Guo’er exactly put in it, but this world is still too dangerous for me."
After placing the food and water down, Han Fei took a cloth and cleaned the foam off Shen Luo’s face, and folded some waste fabric under his head to keep him from choking on his saliva.
"A Desperate Escape, I never thought you would end up here with me." Han Fei left the storeroom and went back to his office.
Plants vs. Zombies, start.
By noon, all four subordinates went to eat. Han Fei secretly sneaked over to Li Guo’er’s computer in the meantime and took a glance at Little Li’s backpack.
"Today’s backpack isn’t as bulging, containing only some cosmetics—this is a nice change."
Han Fei clicked on Li Guo’er’s computer, briefly checked, and when he scrolled through a nondescript document, he couldn’t look away.
Li Guo’er had drawn a hidden ending that she did not let Han Fei see. She meticulously designed a dungeon filled with various things designed to trap a man inside, ensuring he could never escape.
"I asked her to design virtual games, but it seems she’s directly planning to renovate her own house."
After restoring everything, Han Fei finally went to the cafeteria to eat. He intentionally avoided Li Guo’er.
Sitting alone in the corner, Han Fei ate his food very unobtrusively, and he had barely started when he suddenly smelled a familiar perfume scent.
Looking up, Zhao Qian had finished serving the meal and was sitting across from him.
"Why aren’t you eating with your team members?" Zhao Qian wiped off her lipstick and casually crossed her legs.
"I was busy compiling the main storyline of the game and came out late," Han Fei gulped down his food, planning to finish his meal within a minute and then head back.
"Tonight you..."
"Team leader, why aren’t you eating with us?" Li Guo’er, holding her half-eaten plate of food, walked up to Han Fei and sat down in the empty seat next to him, "I brought you some fruit, do you want some?"
Li Guo’er was being extremely affectionate, and Zhao Qian observed this without saying a word.
"Team leader, look at this plate of stir-fried cucumbers, they are all wrinkled and old, definitely not tasty," Li Guo’er placed a washed apple on Han Fei’s plate, "Freshly picked apples are tastier."
Han Fei didn’t understand what Li Guo’er was talking about, and he didn’t dare to try to understand, all this talk about wrinkled, old cucumbers and freshly picked apples...
Hearing Li Guo’er’s words, Zhao Qian’s hand that was holding chopsticks began to slowly tighten, as she struggled to maintain her elegance.
Caught between the two, Han Fei’s hands trembled slightly as he held his plate, his mind repeatedly telling himself, "It must be because of Shen Luo, I need to hurry and deliver him to other players."
"Sister Qian! Why are you eating here today?" The middle-aged man nicknamed Zhang Yu jogged over with his plate, sitting like an eager dog at Zhao Qian’s right, "I was just looking for you. The battle system for the Eternal Life Game has been fully constructed, but there are a few minor issues, and I’d like your opinion on them."
Zhang Yu ran over to Zhao Qian and Han Fei’s table, discussing the Eternal Life Game in front of Han Fei, his boastful expression and the look of a villain in triumph, at this point, seemed incredibly adorable to Han Fei.
Zhang Yu, brother, really is a good employee.
Burying his head in his meal, Han Fei finished eating in just over fifty seconds.
Having relieved his hunger, Han Fei immediately stood up with his plate, "I’m going back to work, you guys take your time."
"What’s wrong, Brother Fu Yi? Won’t you eat some more? Did I say something I shouldn’t have?" Zhang Yu smiled triumphantly, thinking that Han Fei left in such an awkward state because of his arrival. Little did he know that behind him, the two women were staring daggers at his neck with eyes full of murderous intent.
Back in the storeroom, Han Fei saw that Shen Luo still hadn’t awakened, so he placed the apple next to Shen Luo again, "You have a miraculous ability like Desperate Escape, ordinary people can’t kill you. Have a good sleep."
At two-thirty in the afternoon, four subordinates finally produced the main storyline and rough plot of the new game.
"Team leader, let me explain it to you," Brother Jia Shu, holding the printed material, stood up, "Our horror romance game, although it includes elements of romance, gore, perks, and other adult-only content, our main message is still positive; it’s a story of atonement."
Han Fei turned off Plants vs. Zombies and began to listen attentively.
"The story starts with this image. The male protagonist finds himself tied to a dining table, surrounded by a group of vague-faced women, who are smiling while raising chainsaws, cleavers, and such. It seems like they are about to dismember him any moment when suddenly the protagonist wakes up to find it was all a nightmare."
"Then the protagonist starts his normal day. He has a gentle and virtuous wife and adorable children, boasting a perfect family that everyone envies."
"Like usual, the protagonist goes to work and meets various women with distinct personalities, all maintaining a flirtatious relationship with him, but it’s all just a facade."
"When night falls, the protagonist receives an invitation to a drink gathering from a female supervisor and a call from his wife. Choosing to go home will let him safely pass the first day; if he chooses to attend the gathering, then another option appears, whether to take a female subordinate with him or leave her to work overtime alone."
"Later, the female supervisor, drunk, insists the protagonist drives her home. After sending the supervisor home, there are five other options; selecting the wrong one results in being killed by the scheming female supervisor; if the protagonist chooses not to drive her but returns to check on the female subordinate at the office, that will trigger different options, ultimately leading to being killed by the subordinate."
"We have now designed twenty-seven different ways to die, and here I must praise Little Guo who alone came up with seventeen of them, and she illustrated them so delicately, it’s as if she has thought through each method of death thoroughly."
Brother Jia Shu continuously praised Li Guo’er, and Han Fei wiped the sweat from his forehead, nodding slightly.
"Team leader, are you feeling hot?"
"I’ve been feeling cold recently, it’s nothing, keep going."
"All the flirtatious options are traps, hiding death behind them. Each time the protagonist dies, he will reopen his eyes. Gradually, he realizes he’s caught in an infinite loop of deadly nightmares. To truly escape the nightmares and stop dying repeatedly, there’s only one way— the protagonist must genuinely repent and dispel everyone’s hatred by taking his own life."
"Not bad, great idea."
Han Fei led the applause, but in his heart, he was actually thinking if he should submit this game plan to Zhao Qian for review, would she think Han Fei modeled the game after himself?
Such a game, if marked "Based on a true story" on the cover, might just outrank other romance simulation games in sales.
"Everyone has worked hard recently, I’ll go have the leadership take a look."
The inevitable always comes. Han Fei compiled the game plan and headed to Zhao Qian’s office.
