Chapter 525: Chapter 525: Han Fei’s First Neighbor of Hatred (4000 Votes for Monthly Ticket)

Following the department store, Han Fei gained another special building—the White Orphanage.

What special function this building had, Han Fei was not yet clear, and he didn’t have the time to explore it right now, given that it was still on the Plastic Surgery Hospital’s turf.

Yinglong carried Han Fei closer to the child, and the neighbors also approached together, encircling the child with a group of kind and lovely adults.

"Come with us, we’ll take you to see the outside world."

Han Fei stared at the child before him, who represented the innocence and purity of the little white shoes, and could also be said to be a part of them.

The boy clutched at his chest, where the white heart hidden inside the stuffed toy had been thoroughly stained red; he was reborn atop the corpses of all other distracting thoughts.

"Those bad people wanted to raise you to be the next me, but they are destined to fail, because you are one of a kind, you have your own special personality, you are you." Han Fei extended his hand toward the child, "I’ll help you find yourself."

Orphan No. 024 had a fairly high degree of friendliness with Han Fei, and after hesitating for a moment, he grabbed Han Fei’s hand.

In that instant, Han Fei also used the secret of touching the depths of a soul; he did not feel a shred of malice on the boy, only a fear of the past and confusion about the future. The boy’s soul was pure and spotless, which was simply incredible in the Deep World.

"Prepare to leave."

The White Orphanage had already been reduced to ruins, and Han Fei planned to rebuild it here after taking over the Plastic Surgery Hospital Area.

The appearance of this special building filled a void in Han Fei’s community.

Without staying any longer, the neighbors carried the seriously injured Han Fei and Orphan No. 024, dashing towards the area of the department store.

After they left the orphanage, Han Fei, who had become the new owner of the White Orphanage, felt something and turned his head back to the center of the orphanage ruins.

There, among the destroyed murals, the residual Life Rope, dipped in blood on the ground, slowly converged, outlining the figure of a man on the cracked floor.

The man was holding a paint bucket filled with fresh blood and Dark Energy, and his gaze collided with Han Fei’s.

The Painter’s mouth opened as if saying something, and with his hand, he drew a window on the cracked wall that showed a beautiful view—blue skies, grasslands, animals scurrying about, and a boy who only smiled.

The Painter did not pursue them, and Han Fei did not dare to stay; he swiftly escaped back to the department store.

As they entered the store, Mirror God and Zhuang Wen appeared at the same time. Plans could not keep up with changes, and two Evil Ghosts comparable to pure Hatred had not yet made their move when Ten Fingers had already been killed.

"How did you do it? Ten Fingers stole the most important items from the store and also had Hatred’s Black Fire. How could you possibly have killed him?" Mirror God was full of surprise, the neighbors did not know how to explain, and they all looked towards Han Fei and Xu Qin.

"Ten Fingers was trapped by the Hatred of the Plastic Surgery Hospital, which let us take advantage." Han Fei was quite modest; the one who had just killed Ten Fingers was not him, but Kuangxiao.

The madman didn’t leave the Blood-colored Orphanage; he simply controlled Han Fei’s body to launch attacks that nearly reached the human physical limit.

Through a series of operations by Laughing Clown, Han Fei learned many things.

For example, lowering his health threshold in exchange for a huge increase in attributes, using the Word Spirit Curse five times to strengthen himself, along with the Art Appreciation skill to see through weaknesses and the Rebirth Saber that slashes all sins, Han Fei could now pose a threat to the top Grudges.

However, he could only pose a threat, as he needed someone to engage the enemy head-on because he had only one chance to strike with his saber. If he couldn’t kill his opponent straight away, a slight touch would cause his soul to scatter.

The way Laughing Clown fought was based on absolute confidence and insanity, charging forward with just three drops of blood. Even if a normal person could think of such tactics, they would never dare to try them lightly.

"You even brought back the Heart of Hatred from Ten Fingers? Now that’s some good stuff!" Mirror God dug out a black heart from Ten Fingers’ slowly decaying corpse, which had already shattered into several pieces. It took quite an effort to piece them back together.

As the black fragments drew closer to each other, a weak strand of Black Fire ignited among the pieces.

"This last bit of Black Fire of Hatred is burning Ten Fingers’ heart. Only after his heart is completely consumed by the fire will he truly be Soul Scattering," said Mirror God, offering the Black Fire to Zhuang Wen. "This is some good stuff. You’re only a step away from becoming a true Hatred; maybe its Black Fire can help you."

Zhuang Wen’s Transformation into Hatred failed, turning her into an irrational Monster. Later, with the wish from the Shrine Inheritance Task, Han Fei helped Zhuang Wen to recover, raising her strength to the pinnacle just below Hatred.

Although the Black Fire left by Hatred is precious, not everyone can use it. If the power difference is too great, it might instead be influenced by Ten Fingers.

Everyone agreed to let Zhuang Wen use it, and she didn’t hesitate to crush Ten Fingers’ black heart and swallow it at the moment the Black Fire burned the fiercest.

"Let’s not disturb her now."

The group, taking the rest of Ten Fingers’ body, entered the underground warehouse. With the Black Fire taken from it, Ten Fingers’ body started to rapidly decay and disappear. His despair was gathered by Cry, while the residual Dark Energy was shared by the others. Mirror God also found several lost items from the Department Store on Ten Fingers’ remains.

"Han Fei, these are the most important items from the Department Store. See if there’s anything you can use," Mirror God said, laying out the blood-covered items in front of Han Fei. Using the system’s Identification feature, he touched them one by one.

"Desire Coat (E-grade Special Item): This is a garment woven from worldly greed. Once you don the Desire Coat, all gazes upon you will be dominated by desire and unable to perceive your true form."

"Joker’s Tears (E-grade Special Item): One of the transitional items for the Hidden Profession of Laughing Clown. It can be used in the Hidden Map of Lost Paradise, triggering the Profession change quest."

"Department Store’s Bill (E-grade Exclusive Item): Only usable by the Manager of the Special Building, Department Store. All the regrets, Grudges, and Hatred turned into items appear in the accounts. By touching their names, you can vaguely ascertain their locations. Note! This bill is the link between the Manager and all the items; make sure not to lose it."

"Unspeakable Heart’s Delight (D-grade Material): ? ? ? ?"

Seeing the four items on the ground, Han Fei felt like he hit the jackpot. Taking down Ten Fingers was worth any price he had paid for him.

"Desire Coat can be used by Little Eight, and she should be able to leave Happiness Residential Community. I’m about to reach level twenty, and then I can try to unlock a new Hidden Profession. This Laughing Clown seems decent, certainly more reliable than Pretty Man."

Flipping open the ledger, Han Fei found the names of Cry and Red Skirt. He gently touched Red Skirt’s name and vaguely felt that she was within the Plastic Surgery Hospital Area.

"Glad there’s no trouble."

Finally, Han Fei turned his attention to the strange piece of flesh, which, though called flesh, felt more like stone.

"This is a D-grade material?" Han Fei didn’t know what use the chunk of flesh had, but decided to keep it for the time being.

After securing all the items, Han Fei looked towards where his neighbors were.

Everyone had been frugal and finished off their plates thoroughly, the residual souls from their fingertips had dissipated, leaving not even ash behind.

"You’d better hurry back into the Death Building, the aura on this child is very strange. If you stay out in the fog for too long, it might attract something unwanted," the Mirror God warned. "By the way, how come you’re always picking up people and bringing them home wherever you go?"

"He is a part of the emotional entity borne from the hatred inside the Plastic Surgery Hospital, I want to use him as a bridge to slowly communicate with the hatred there."

"Don’t get your hopes up too high, every hatred harbors a bone-deep grudge, and they definitely won’t waver easily," the Mirror God said, staring at Number 024 for a while as the scales in his left eye gently swayed, as if measuring the soul value of Number 024.

"I’ll be careful," Han Fei continued to converse with the Mirror God for a while. As he was ready to leave, a terrifying presence suddenly rose from the top of the department store, and as the owner of the store, he immediately sensed that something was wrong.

Everyone stepped out of the store and looked upward. Zhuang Wen was standing on the roof of the department store.

It seemed that she chose the top of the building for her final breakthrough, worried that the uncontrollable Black Fire might damage the inside of the store.

Piercing screeching sounds emanated from the flames as Zhuang Wen threw all the Memory Fragments into the Black Fire.

Fueled by grudge and hatred, the black flames burst forth from Zhuang Wen’s heart and soared in an instant.

The intertwining murder and death intents from the ten fingers and the Death Building manifested Death Curse marks beneath Zhuang Wen’s skin. All of her memories, her entire past, were burning in the Black Fire.

Zhuang Wen’s Soul Body also underwent rapid transformation, as if it might be engulfed by the flames at any moment.

In a city forever shrouded in night, Zhuang Wen’s black flames were like a part of the starless sky. She struggled and screamed within the Black Fire, experiencing the deepest pain and despair, but she refused to bow her head.

The chilling roars pierced the eternal night, and the grudge in Zhuang Wen’s heart fully transformed into hatred. Her cold heart started beating again.

The burning Black Fire around her, along with the heartbeat, was slowly reeled back, burning only within Zhuang Wen’s heart.

Scene after scene of ravaged pasts was torn apart, the boundless hatred piercing fate like a sharp knife.

The incinerated Soul Body began to be reborn, and the aura emanating from Zhuang Wen had changed completely from before.

Looking towards the end of the night, she then leaped from the high building.

The Black Fire instantly covered her entire body; the flames contained both intense killing intent and endless Death Intent, and carried countless Death Curses.

"Bang!"

Crashing to the ground, the black fire dissipated, and Zhuang Wen stood in front of her neighbors, her presence contained.

"Player 0000, please note! Hostility with Zhuang Wen has increased by ten points! Congratulations on obtaining the friendship of your first true hostility!"

After swallowing the black fire of her ten fingers, Zhuang Wen became true Hatred. For various reasons, she seemed even more powerful than ordinary Hatreds.

The neighbors didn’t dare to get close to Zhuang Wen; she emanated an extremely dangerous aura as if merely approaching her could result in death at any moment.

Taking a deep breath, Han Fei was the first to walk over. He looked at Zhuang Wen as she slowly opened her eyes, and greeted her as usual.

As Hatred retracted into the black fire, Zhuang Wen struggled to suppress her hatred, but those around her could still feel the terrifying oppressive force.

Han Fei now finally understood why when a Hatred entered another area, the Hatreds of the other areas could immediately sense it. The aura of these Hatreds was impossible to conceal; the hatred was so intense that it could be felt from a great distance.

"Finally, there’s a new Hatred in the Death Building Area." Han Fei let out a sigh of relief. As the manager chosen by the Death Building Owner, he was well aware of just how precarious the situation in the Death Building Area had been.

The Mirror God could only exert the power of Hatred within the Department Store; there wasn’t a single true Hatred in the Death Building Area. If the three Hatreds from the Plastic Surgery Hospital forcibly entered, the grudges of the Death Building Area wouldn’t be able to stop them.

"Let’s get ready to leave."

Leading the group towards the Death Building Area, Han Fei handed the Desire Coat to Zhuang Wen as they passed through the Plastic Surgery Hospital Area. He asked Zhuang Wen to try wearing the coat and attempting to enter the Plastic Surgery Hospital Area.

After several attempts, a gleam appeared in Han Fei’s eyes. The Desire Coat could conceal the hatred emanating from Zhuang Wen; as long as she wore the coat, she could follow Han Fei into the Plastic Surgery Hospital.

"With this coat, once the Big Evil suppresses the Unspeakable Spell, I’ll give the Plastic Surgery Hospital a surprise."

Returning to the fog, the Death Building Owner began to devour the merchandise of the Department Store to quickly recover from injuries and strengthen the soul.

Han Fei, meanwhile, led child number 024 and the neighbors to the Happiness Residential Community. He had Little Eight try on the coat as well.

Under the conditions that the eight victims of the Human-body Puzzle had not lost their minds, the coat could also hide their aura.

"This time, killing Ten Fingers yielded greater rewards than imagined. Every Hatred is a treasure trove!"

Han Fei turned to orphan number 024. Despite his serious injuries, he sat down in front of the child: "Kid, what else do you know about that orphanage? Can you remember the names and faces of the other children from the same period?"

Some things couldn’t be rushed. To make Little White Shoes "turn from darkness to light," Han Fei couldn’t be forceful. Hence, he started with other questions, gradually getting the child to lower his guard.

"I’ve forgotten a lot, but I remember the faces of two people. One of them was my best friend, and the other was the worst bully who tormented me the most. Their numbers were 019 and 030." The boy tried hard to recall the past: "019 knew a lot, a very smart kid and also very good-looking. His dream was to become an actor. 030 was very naughty and took pleasure in bullying others. He was more physically developed than his peers, tall, and liked to force others to do things they didn’t like. He once confessed that his dream was to rob a bank."

The boy described the appearances and characteristics of children number 019 and 030 to Han Fei, who took careful note, planning to try his luck in the real world after logging out of the game.
