My ‘Healing’ Game -
Chapter 326: Unexpectedly Fulfilled the Wish of the Jumping Ghost
Chapter 326: Chapter 326: Unexpectedly Fulfilled the Wish of the Jumping Ghost
Han Fei had not expected the Building-jumping Ghost to come so quickly, nor did he imagine that he would take Zhuang Wen’s last shred of humanity as a task reward and carry it out from the top floor of Building No. 1.
"Undying and Endless?!"
Dense bloodstains seeped from under the door, and as the balcony door was about to burst, Han Fei dared not linger; he decisively ran downstairs holding the little girl.
"If I catch you, you will die! You will definitely die!"
Amidst the hysterical shrieking, all the Soul Bells in room 1244 exploded, and the bloodstains inside the room moved like giant pythons, as if the seal of this most horrifying room had been forcibly broken open!
No Outsiders had ever managed to enter room 1244, let alone take anything out from it.
The Building-jumping Ghost had gone mad; the key in her chest had been pulled out, and now even her last bit of humanity had been taken from her!
Butterfly dared to do things Han Fei did, and Han Fei even did those things Butterfly would not dare to, and he did it thoroughly!
"What can be done now? I thought you were the ghost of Zhuang Wen’s child, but it turns out you are Zhuang Wen!"
Holding the innocent little girl in one arm, Han Fei had just entered the game and hadn’t even reached half an hour when he began a life-risking sprint.
Such a thrilling Healing-type game was not something the average person could enjoy.
"Give me back my child!" A hoarse voice emanated from the depths of room 1244, echoing throughout Building No. 1. Although it had been less than half an hour, the Building-jumping Ghost had broken through some kind of restraint and, dragging her body carved with various talisman, crawled out of room 1244.
This time she did not fall from the balcony. In order to chase after Han Fei, she stepped out of room 1244 through the main door for the first time.
Perhaps she who had lost her reason did not understand what this small step meant, but the little girl in Han Fei’s arms saw everything clearly.
A light slowly kindled within her pure eyes; it seemed that leaving that room had always been the deepest desire buried in her heart.
And this wish had unexpectedly been fulfilled by Han Fei in such a manner.
While alive, the Building-jumping Ghost had been trapped in the room, never having left through the main door until her death. After being trapped in the Death Building, she repeated the same act. Butterfly never allowed her to leave through the main door; whenever Outsiders entered the building, they made her jump from the building over and over again!
The Building-jumping Ghost lost her sanity; perhaps she did not wish to step through the door, but the key to her home had plunged into her heart like a knife.
She couldn’t pull it out; even a slight touch would bring the past surging back.
The Building-jumping Ghost was trapped in room 1244. If someone else wanted to rescue her, they would have to risk being killed by her to pull out the key, but pulling out the key was just the first step; more sacrifices would be necessary to seize even a sliver of opportunity.
It was already difficult to survive in the Death Building, and no fool would try to rescue a Monster that had failed to overcome its Hatred. Such beings are also considered "foreign objects" in the Deep World.
Normally, the Building-jumping Ghost would be forever imprisoned in room 1244, used by the Death Building Manager as a tool to clear Building No. 1.
However, nobody anticipated that Han Fei would appear.
He entered room 1244 and pulled out the key from the Building-jumping Ghost’s chest as part of a task, but taking the little girl with him was an impromptu act.
Under a series of coincidences, the Building-jumping Ghost also managed to fulfill a wish with Han Fei’s help—she walked out of the House of Demon that had imprisoned her past.
The little girl’s eyes slowly filled with a complex mix of emotions, and her body was undergoing some changes, none of which Han Fei knew about. At that moment, he was just inwardly relieved that he had increased his physical strength.
The Building-jumping Ghost is the most terrifying entity in Building One, and only a complete Red Skirt could stop her. Han Fei was unaware of the specifics inside the building, so he could only keep running toward the security room.
"Zhuang Wen had been divided into several parts: the Building-jumping Ghost formed by a Death Curse and hatred, the mother who raised her child alone, the Needle Woman who used her child as bait, and the little girl in room 1244. To calm the Building-jumping Ghost, it seems that only by merging all the split consciousnesses and memories can she be appeased."
It sounded easy but was as difficult as ascending to heaven.
Han Fei had died so many times in the Death Building Game and never succeeded. The Deep World and the Death Building Game were not the same; here, he didn’t have the chance to start over—a real death here might mean the end.
"The Female Live-streamer lives on the eighth floor, but it’s already a bit late to look for her now. The primary objective remains the Red Skirt in the security room."
The noisy and rapid footsteps echoed in the corridor. With death looming, Han Fei had no time to worry that his footsteps might attract something.
Han Fei ran all the way to the eighteenth floor, and just then, the locked safety door suddenly opened. A businessman dressed in mourning looked outside and then silently turned around: "A gentleman loves money, and ought to get it in a proper way."
Seeing that the businessman didn’t stop him, Han Fei didn’t stay either.
He hadn’t gone far when a wave of blood flooded the corridor.
The Soul Bell trembled, Paper Money fluttered down, and the Building-jumping Ghost, dragging a body covered with Death Curses and Talisman Paper, crawled downwards. The businessman inside the safety door was stunned.
"Is this like holding one’s own funeral?"
The Building-jumping Ghost only had eyes for Han Fei, and so the businessman managed to dodge disaster. He waited until the Building-jumping Ghost and Han Fei had run further away before he stealthily picked up the Paper Money from the ground and hurried back home.
Han Fei raced down the stairs, causing a commotion. Thankfully there were much fewer Owners willing to come out and see what was happening; almost no "person" dared to stop Han Fei.
Arriving on the fourth floor, Han Fei was still worried that there might be no one in the security room when he saw Xiaofang opening the door, appearing at the entrance.
"Brother Bai! I heard footsteps and guessed it was you coming back!" Xiaofang was excited.
Brother Hua squeezed out as well, looking quite unwell. When he saw Han Fei, he finally breathed a sigh of relief: "Good to see you’re alive. Come in quickly, I have a lot to tell you."
"Quick! Give me the Red Skirt! Quick!" Han Fei had no time for catch-ups, he was in such a hurry he couldn’t even remember to call out names: "That Building-jumping Ghost is right behind me!"
No sooner had he logged in than he’d brought a big problem with him. Xiaofang and Brother Hua snapped to their senses and quickly ran into the house to fetch a red wooden box: "The skirt is in the box, she has been put back together, but her state is somewhat weird..."
"Close the door! Close the door!"
Brother Hua couldn’t finish speaking before Han Fei, carrying the little girl in one arm and the wooden box in the other, started running down the stairs.
The eerie sound of footsteps arose, and before Brother Hua and Xiaofang could close the door, they watched the frenzied Building-jumping Ghost crawl past them, almost overturning them with its pungent stench of blood.
"My god! What in heaven’s name has Brother Bai done to that Building-jumping Ghost?"
Brother Hua and Xiaofang, staring at the blood-stained corridors, shuddered and didn’t dare continue the thought.
