Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Escape from the Dormitory Building (Second Update)
The three of them exchanged a lot of information, and Han Fei gained tremendously. Through the Mortal World, he looked into the Underworld and discovered that many rules of the game could be utilized.
It wasn’t until two in the afternoon that Han Fei walked out from the second floor of the café.
The moment he left the second floor, his phone began to vibrate, displaying several unread messages.
"Can the second floor block signals?"
Han Fei turned his head to look back and silently opened his phone.
Most of the messages were from Director Jiang. Youlong Culture was very interested in a real-life movie series about Han Fei and wanted to formally collaborate with him.
Due to the success of "Twin Flowers," Youlong Culture now had full confidence in Han Fei.
"Originally, ’Flower of Evil’ was almost halted due to financial issues; now, the new series hadn’t even finalized its script yet, but the filming funds were already in place."
After patiently replying to the other party, Han Fei also inquired about the division of the film compensation. He planned to immediately buy a high-level Game Box once the money was in his account.
Walking down the street, perhaps because "Perfect Life" was about to enter public testing, advertisements could be seen all over the Xinhu Smart City District, covering all age groups. Many pedestrians and merchants were talking about the game as well.
A game of such universal appeal could truly be called unprecedented.
"I hope there won’t be any problems after the public testing."
Han Fei wasn’t in a position to worry about others now. If he leaked anything related to the Black Box, his head would explode. All he could do was to survive in that world and become stronger.
It was past four in the afternoon when Han Fei returned home and started reading, studying, and exercising.
To not affect his gaming, he had quit all his bad habits and was now frighteningly disciplined.
As the night deepened, Han Fei looked at the character relationship chart of Yimin Private Academy on the wall and picked up the game helmet from the desk.
"I need to get through Yimin Private Academy quickly. Being trapped in the school makes me feel disconnected from the outside world. I wonder how my neighbors are doing now."
Putting on the game helmet, the world was instantly shrouded in blood.
"Welcome to Perfect Life!"
Opening his eyes, the dark corridor was dead silent, devoid of any light or sound.
He gently pushed the door in front of him. As Han Fei exerted force, he frowned.
"The door isn’t locked?"
Looking down, he saw that the door lock of Room 104 was broken, and the doorknob was wet, with some blackish-red slime remaining on it.
Upon entering the room, Zhang Guanxing was not there.
"There are no signs of a fight in the room, so he probably sensed the danger and left early."
Taking out a uniform emitting Dark Energy from the Item Bar, Han Fei walked around every corner of the room. The black shadow raised by Xu Qin never appeared.
"Did that guy leave with Zhang Guanxing as well?"
Since even the shadow, which was adept at hiding, had fled, it indicated that something very frightening had indeed infiltrated the dormitory building.
Packing away the uniform, Han Fei carefully closed the door of the room. He was somewhat panicked now.
With Zhang Guanxing and the shadow around, at least they could rely on each other, but now he was alone in the room.
"The building is very quiet, with no strange noises. It feels like the entire building has been emptied."
Han Fei didn’t know who had emptied the dormitory building, but he knew that the terrifying entity that had done so might still be inside the building.
Being alone with such a frightful fellow made Han Fei feel uneasy.
"Should I stay in the building or leave?"
Undecided, Han Fei closed the door of the room and began searching inside.
When he opened the electric pot hidden in the cabinet, he accidentally discovered a note lying beside the Spiritual Altar that messily read a line of text—"cafeteria second floor washroom."
"Was the note left by Zhang Guanxing? But why would he go to the cafeteria?"
Han Fei had to be cautious, as the note might have been switched, and running there naively could be deadly.
Staring at the words on the note, Han Fei looked for quite a while, and suddenly, a chill ran up his spine.
"I’ve seen this handwriting!" Han Fei’s powerful memory recalled an incident, where he had seen many thank-you letters in the supervisors’ room, one of which had handwriting roughly eighty to ninety percent similar to that on the note.
"The note was left by ghosts, they want to kill me." He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. In this world, one couldn’t afford to be careless for even a moment, or death could be extremely gruesome.
"The real note might have already been stolen, Dormitory 104 is no longer safe now." Han Fei looked around, unsure of when the Fierce Ghost might appear, realizing that staying in the dormitory building was pointless, and it was better to leave as soon as possible.
All rooms on the first floor were fitted with security bars, so the only exits were through the main door or by climbing down from the second floor.
After replacing the Spiritual Altar to its original spot, Han Fei quietly left Dormitory 104.
The silence inside the building was disturbing, and Han Fei felt extremely insecure, although the landlord’s ring showed no reactions, something could appear at any moment.
"The bloodstains on the main door have already turned dark, and the talisman papers and debris are stuck to the door panel, it seems it hasn’t been opened for a long time."
Hugging the wall, Han Fei entered the hallway, stepping on the stairs which felt somewhat wet and slippery, beneath his feet.
He did not dare to check now, focusing only on leaving as quickly as possible.
The atmosphere inside the building was too eerie, it seemed as if he was the only living person in the entire building now.
In the heavy darkness, it felt like something invisible was spreading, the sense of oppression was hard to articulate.
Holding his breath, Han Fei reached the second floor.
He cautiously approached room 201, but as he was about to push the door open, he suddenly noticed that the blood on the doorknob had not yet coagulated and was still dripping down the iron handle.
Seeing this scene, Han Fei’s every nerve tensed up.
Just within a minute, someone with a blood-covered hand had touched this door, the person must be nearby!
His heart thumping intensely, Han Fei dared not open the door to room 201, fearing that thing might be hiding inside.
With dry throat behind the room door, Han Fei swallowed and moved to the door of Dormitory 202 using the lightest steps without making any noise.
The doorknob of Dormitory 202 also had bloodstains, but they were already starting to coagulate.
Continuing to move, Han Fei finally stopped at the door of room 204.
He dared not venture further down the corridor as he felt the darkness was almost swallowing him whole.
The door lock was broken, Han Fei tightened his grip on the door panel, and in order not to make any sound, he acted very slowly.
As he pushed the door halfway open, the landlord’s ring on his hand suddenly transmitted a bone-chilling cold!
Without any warning or delay, the cold hit almost froze his fingers.
Following the direction the cold came from, Han Fei saw that the door of room 201 had been opened without his knowledge, and something was just about to come out.
"Run!"
Without any hesitation, Han Fei decisively pushed the door of room 204 open and rushed into the dormitory.
He burst out all his energy, directly leaped over the balcony of the second floor, grabbed the security bars, and jumped down into a bush overgrown with weeds.
With his arms scratched, he dared not stop and started running.
After escaping a considerable distance, Han Fei looked back only to see a man standing in Dormitory 204, radiating malice, his cheeks almost completely covered in blood, and wearing a sinister smile on his face.
Since the distance was too far, Han Fei couldn’t see clearly, but he felt that the man’s silhouette resembled Ma Manjiang from reality.
"Is it really him?"
