Chapter 117: Chapter 117: The children of that school need to be saved

Once, Han Fei was a lonely, introverted person with some social anxiety, but ever since he started playing "Perfect Life," he had dared to stand in the hallway and passionately lecture a group of Fierce Ghosts.

His sincere gaze and moving words seemed to embody his hopes for a brighter future with every word he spoke.

Many residents had never seen such a Building Chief, and many ghosts had never seen such a person either.

After expressing his thoughts, scattered applause echoed through the hall, and Han Fei officially became the temporary chairperson of the Happiness Residential Community Homeowners’ Committee.

After resolving the major issue, Han Fei did not rush to leave Building Two, using the excuse of helping residents to perform a thorough search of the building.

The prolonged chaos and fighting had left the building extremely bloodstained, with many rooms severely damaged and few items of value left inside.

Han Fei eventually found the girl’s hands in a flesh-built insect nest on the eighth floor, and after completing the mission, he added the skill points he earned to his Acting.

"High-level acting is already impressive in reality; I wonder what effects master-level Acting would have? A master of acting in his twenties? Just thinking about it seems absurd."

Supporting Wei Youfu, the two walked out of Building Two.

There were only about ten meters between the two residential buildings, but Han Fei was still very cautious.

Despite this caution, an accident still occurred.

Halfway there, Han Fei suddenly heard someone shouting his name, but the experienced man did not even bother to look up, pretending he hadn’t heard.

The voice grew clearer, but Han Fei ignored it, waiting until he had closed the hallway door of Building One behind him before suddenly realizing something was amiss.

The bizarre voice was still there!

"It seems to be coming from behind me?" Han Fei glanced at Youfu from the corner of his eye, Youfu was trying hard to control the despair invading his body, struggling at the edge of losing his sanity, and couldn’t care less about Han Fei at that moment.

"Youfu, you go home and rest first." After sending Youfu back to 1044 Haunted House, the voice by his ear became clearer; it seemed that the speaker was now leaning on his back, whispering in his ear.

Still pretending to hear nothing, Han Fei headed straight to the fifth floor and knocked on Xu Qin’s apartment door.

"Sister, I’m here to deliver some goods to you."

The voice on his back continued to shout energetically, as if puzzled why Han Fei couldn’t hear it, still unaware of the seriousness of the situation.

Bloodstains with a foul smell seeped out from Room 1054, and as Han Fei spoke, the door of Room 1054 suddenly opened on its own.

A somewhat eerie voice came from deep inside the room, "I’ve just come back from shopping, and I’m a bit dirty, wait a moment."

"No worries, I’ve also prepared a little dish for you." Saying this, Han Fei entered Room 1054, being very considerate, he immediately locked the door behind him.

The shouting from his back continued until Xu Qin, blood-covered and holding a Dinner Knife, appeared in the living room, and then the voice abruptly stopped.

"Is this the little dish you mentioned?" Xu Qin wiped the Blood Pearls dripping from her face and smiled, "But she’s still just a child."

"Children are tender, after all."

Hearing their ruthless words, a gasp came from Han Fei’s back.

Xu Qin seemed to enjoy talking with Han Fei; holding the Dinner Knife, she walked up to him with a grin. When she moved out of Han Fei’s line of sight, the smile on her face turned into a murderous intent. "Are you coming down yourself, or should I cut off every part of you that touched him?"

The strange shouting turned into a suppressed cry, and Han Fei felt a lightness on his back as the ghost who had been shouting his name seemed to have left.

Turning around, Han Fei saw a female student standing behind him, looking very ordinary, dressed in a dirty school uniform with "Yimin" written on it.

Being stared at by Han Fei and Xu Qin, the female student broke down and cried. After entering the room, she realized that she was the "little dish" they referred to.

"I was coming back from Building Two when I suddenly heard someone calling me. I didn’t respond, but the voice grew nearer," Han Fei shared the scene of encountering the female student with Xu Qin. "Seeing that I didn’t speak, she became more assertive and climbed onto my back."

The cold gaze fixed on the girl in the school uniform caused her form to start dissipating.

As Xu Qin raised the Dinner Knife and the frightened student began stuttering, she uttered, "I didn’t want to come in; someone forced me."

"Someone forced you?" Han Fei, seeing the name on her school uniform, actually felt his murderous intent diminish substantially. "Was it the other students at your school?"

"No," the female student hesitated before finally speaking, "It’s a ghost hiding among the students..."

As soon as she uttered these words, a Blood Silk suddenly burrowed out from her heart, piercing through her skull.

The speed was too fast for Xu Qin, who was standing beside her, to react in time.

By the time Xu Qin drew out her Dinner Knife to sever the Blood Silk, the girl could no longer maintain her own body. She emitted a pungent stench, and peculiar characters emerged from beneath her skin.

"She has been cursed. Certain actions can trigger the curse, and, given her abilities, it’s unlikely she can withstand it," said Xu Qin, who was a Curse Aggregation herself and knew curses well; she understood the situation at a glance.

"Cursing students, forcing them to explore the Community?" Han Fei’s mind raced, "This child is wearing a Yimin Private Academy uniform. That school must have encountered something horrifying."

"She just mentioned a ghost hiding among the students, then the curse triggered. It seems there’s a student at that school who is very dangerous," Xu Qin, standing beside the female student, said, "That student’s mastery and ability with curses is much stronger than mine. Be careful, I feel it might come after you next."

"Yimin Private Academy, I’ve always wanted to check out that place," said Han Fei as he retrieved a former Building Chief’s teacher ID from his Item Bar. "It might hold the memories of the Building Chief."

Han Fei was now torn. He knew he needed to speed up his exploration and felt very anxious, but he dared not to act rashly.

"I vaguely remember the former Building Chief mentioning something about levels, but the voice was too fuzzy to hear clearly. I wonder what he was doing when he was the same level as me?"

Han Fei hadn’t yet visited the school when it already started to infiltrate the Happiness Residental Community, which unsettled him. He suspected the opposition might have obtained some of the Building Chief’s memories and knew that the crucial Black Box was hidden within the Happiness Residental Community.

Of course, the chances were small, but Han Fei now preferred to consider the worst scenarios. He felt that he couldn’t just wait any longer.

"The children at that school live in dire straits; I must rescue them as soon as possible," Han Fei, who had memorized the Building Chief’s map and knew the location of Yimin Private Academy, said as he stood by the window looking into the distance at a spot enveloped by the night, where it seemed a pair of eyes was also looking back at his location.

"Only by getting hold of the Black Box can we leave this world of despair and bring relief to all the neighbors and family," Han Fei’s eyes gradually became icy cold, "No matter what, I cannot back down."

In the oppressive, dark room, Xu Qin watched Han Fei’s back. Her bright red lips curved into a startlingly thrilling smile. She silently watched for a while, then placed her hand over the female student’s heart.

The blood-red curse crawled bit by bit along Xu Qin’s fingertips until the Blood Silk fully wound around her fingers. A blurry figure appeared in her eyes.

Inserting her slender fingers into her mouth, Xu Qin greedily bit down, until the blood stained her lips, dripping down from her jaw.

"The most delicious, indeed, is a curse soaked with despair."

The female student’s condition seemed to have slightly improved. Xu Qin did not kill her; she merely took off her school uniform.

"What are you doing?" Han Fei looked back and saw Xu Qin handling the female student’s school uniform.

"I’ve also been wanting to check out that school for some time, but never had the chance."

"Sis, you don’t plan to... wear the school uniform to go in, do you?" Han Fei was not just surprised but shocked.

"Buildings owned by the Manager all follow their own rules. The school’s Manager prohibits outsiders; if we don’t want to be discovered by the Manager immediately, the only option is to follow his rules."

"Don’t rush into this. We can take our time to plan!" Han Fei persuaded Xu Qin out of this idea and then could rest easy returning to the Haunted House 1044.

He checked on Wei Youfu and the other roommates’ conditions. Since everyone’s souls had been completely pieced back together, this fusion’s resulting despair and ability were much stronger than before, far exceeding Wei Youfu’s expectations.

It took him a long while to calm his frantic thoughts.

"Youfu, are you okay?"

"I’ve figured out a safe timeframe. If I deactivate the fusion within ten seconds, it won’t cause too severe an impact on everyone," Wei Youfu continued to cough, desperately maintaining his sanity without leaving any of his abilities for himself, "You can rely on us in the future."

"Family members should rely on each other; please don’t push yourselves too hard," Han Fei preferred to stay with the sane Wei Youfu over the monstrously fierce Giant Ghost.

After ensuring his roommates were all right, Han Fei then exited the game.

Removing his gaming helmet, Han Fei lay in bed but couldn’t fall asleep; he recalled his recent experiences.

"Whether human or ghost, each has good and bad; compared to humans, those grudges seem even more pure. Next, I need to take full advantage of the tasks available in the Community and start exploring the surrounding areas as soon as possible."

Once the Community’s tasks are completed, Han Fei would have to accept missions from outside, as otherwise, he couldn’t even exit the game.

To avoid this scenario, he decided to explore the world outside the Community as soon as he was able to exit the game freely.
