Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Most Terrifying Grudge! (Ninth update, seeking monthly pass)

Gathering all the pain and despair into one person can greatly increase that person’s strength, but it can also cause very great damage to them.

The victims of the Human-body Puzzle case knew this was not good for them, but still resolutely wanted to help Han Fei.

Looking at their cold faces, looking into their eyes filled with despair and pain, Han Fei was somewhat moved.

"Today’s visit to Building No. 2 is mainly for a friendly discussion, let’s try not to resort to violence if it can be avoided," Han Fei said as he watched each victim disappear behind Wei Youfu; they seemed to be entering Wei Youfu’s body, though Wei Youfu’s aura did not change at all.

"We cannot leave the Haunted House at will. Just call me when you’re ready to go,"

"Okay."

To prevent any accidents, Han Fei decided to first say hello to the neighbors in the building and wait three hours before leaving.

He first checked on Xu Qin, who was not at home again, and this time it seemed she had really gone out to "buy groceries."

"Xu Qin’s curse requires her to control it by eating constantly, but the more she eats in frenzy, the stronger the curse on the Dinner Knife will become. How can I help her?"

Last night, Xu Qin had gone to Building No. 2 with Han Fei, and after returning in a frenzy, only after eating all the food at home did she regain her sanity.

As the curse deepened, Han Fei didn’t know whether Xu Qin would be able to find herself again after her next bout of madness.

"The Building Chief seems to have tampered with the memories of Xu Qin and Meng Shi, but his method is just a temporary solution, not a cure. Avoidance can only delay problems, not truly solve them."

Leaving the fifth floor and continuing upwards, Han Fei found Ying Yue, the poor child who still couldn’t communicate with Han Fei; she was forever guarding the fish tank in her bedroom.

After confirming that he couldn’t trigger any missions inside the building, Han Fei returned to the 1044 Haunted House and waited the full three hours before leaving with Wei Youfu.

"Youfu, don’t push yourself too hard. If it really can’t be resolved, just run first," Han Fei said earnestly, as he only needed to complete one more mission to log off.

Wei Youfu’s face held a bitter smile, "Although I’m very weak, Little Eight is really strong. Don’t worry."

Taking out the landlord’s key, Han Fei tried for a long time and finally opened the hallway door, glancing outside.

At the community wall, half a human head was vaguely visible, its eyes filled with whites, staring at him.

"A ghost outside the community? So ugly," said Han Fei.

The ghost lying on the wall didn’t come in but just silently watched Han Fei, its eyes white and constantly twitching in their sockets.

"Don’t stay outside for too long, let’s go," said Wei Youfu, echoing what Xu Qin had said earlier; these old residents all seemed to know that staying outside for too long could lead to very bad things happening.

The two hastened their pace and rushed into Building No. 2.

As soon as he entered the building, Han Fei smelled a pungent stench of blood and a heavy stink of decay.

"After I left with Xu Qin yesterday, the residents of Building No. 2 must have fought with those Outsiders again."

Stepping on the dried scabs of blood, Han Fei had just reached the second floor when he saw a pale-faced girl.

She wandered the corridor, her hands hidden behind her, a deep strangulation mark concealed beneath her collar, her skin terribly pale, utterly devoid of color.

When she noticed someone approaching, the girl showed no reaction.

"Hello, is there something I can help with?" Han Fei took the initiative to approach the girl, noticing her hand hidden behind her back was dripping blood, "Are you injured? Did those Outsiders do this?"

Using the secret of touching the depths of the soul, Han Fei gently lifted the girl’s severed arm under her astonished gaze, "Your hand looks like it has just been chopped off. Who did this? I can help you find it again."

"You want to help me find my hand?" The girl’s gaze shifted between her severed arm and Han Fei, "Stop joking. I know everyone inside the building despises me. Someone yesterday said they would help me too, but then I figured out it was just talk, you all hate me, I know that..."

"The world is so large, there will always be people who dislike and deceive you, but also those who will like and be willing to help you. I know words alone aren’t enough. I’ll drive away those Outsiders and help you find your hands then you should be able to trust me." After using his ability, Han Fei did not sense too strong a Grudge from the girl.

"You really want to help me?" The girl’s tone was filled with distrust, as if she had just been hurt by a scumbag.

"Of course." After repeatedly assuring her, Han Fei finally heard the system’s prompt.

"Player number 0000, please note! You have successfully triggered a G-level mission—Finding the Lost Hands."

"Finding the Lost Hands (G-level Normal Mission): No time limit, find the cursed hands within Happiness Residential Community Building Number 2."

"Cursed hands?" Han Fei was about to ask the girl why her hands were cursed when the sound of a door opening suddenly echoed through the hallway.

The security door on the third floor burst open, and two ghostly figures, one tall and one short, appeared. They exuded a musty odor, as if they were symbols of misfortune and Disaster.

Following the appearance of these two, footsteps resounded in the corridor again.

Along with a strong smell of blood, a man with a Dinner Knife stuck in his chest walked down the stairs.

In addition, the fourth floor’s door, shrouded in black hair, also quietly opened, and a woman covered in purple bruises and wounds came down, holding a human head.

"Be careful." Wei Youfu warned, and Han Fei had not expected all the ghosts of Building Number 2 to come out all at once; he had wanted to persuade them one by one.

"We came from Building Number 1 and want to work with you all to clear out those Outsiders." Han Fei revealed a friendly smile. His expression changed very quickly. As a qualified actor, he could produce dozens of smiles, each giving off a different feeling.

"No need . We cleaned out the Outsiders from this building last night," said the tall, thin ghost figure in a hoarse, deep voice, his words laced with strong disdain.

"Outsiders can never be completely eradicated. After one batch is killed, there will be another, and their strength will only increase," Han Fei did not lie and had inferred based on the Building Chief’s last words that very terrifying things would come for him in the future.

"What are you trying to say?"

"There are only our two buildings in Happiness Residential Community. I think we should all help each other and build a good home together." Han Fei was quite sincere, "If you run into trouble in the future, we will come to support you, and we hope you can help us out too. We are all part of one community."

"You don’t seem capable of representing Building Number 1, do you?" The man with a Dinner Knife sticking out of his chest spoke coldly; he seemed like a corpse that could move, "Besides, I don’t want to get involved with any of you."

He looked at the other Ghosts and Monsters inside the building, "I don’t believe in any mutual support. In this darkness, there is only mutual slaughter."

"Let’s do this instead. Using force is unpleasant, let’s vote on it right now." Han Fei raised his hand, "In Happiness Residential Community, every Owner gets one vote, those in favor of joining forces, raise your hands."

After Han Fei finished speaking, Wei Youfu raised his hand, and the tall, thin ghost figure also intended to raise his hand, but when he saw that no one in Building Number 2 was raising their hand, he lowered it again.

"If voting could resolve issues, this city wouldn’t be left with despair alone," the man with the Dinner Knife in his chest sneered coldly, "You unknowingly helped us last night. We won’t kill you this time, you should leave."

"Who told you that voting can’t resolve issues?" Han Fei still wore that friendly, kind smile, but he took a few steps to the side, moving away from Wei Youfu.

When everyone looked baffled, a pair of arms reached out from behind Wei Youfu. Dark Energy spread silently, followed by numerous arms slamming around and from the angry, pained faces, howls erupted.

Despair and hatred intertwined on several figures, continuously gathering and merging Grudge, eventually forming a massive red Ghost and Monster!
