Chapter 920: Chapter 892: Taking on Two Alone

Hearing Li Chen’s words, the surrounding people froze for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"This is truly amusing!"

"Quite interesting!"

"Diarrhea? I think it’s just an excuse to flee in battle. How hilarious! They’ve fought to this point, yet suddenly he’s retreating during the fight! Hahaha!"

"Well, it’s not surprising. After all, in the previous battles, it was Li Chen who carried everything on his own. The other guy was merely a Yellow Rank kid. How could a Yellow Rank kid possibly face a Profound Level Advanced Stage expert?"

"Still, I’d like to see how Li Chen handles two opponents of the same level while staying as composed as before."

"Oh, and come to think of it, I’ve yet to see him exert his full strength. Despite the fiery combat earlier, for some reason, I feel like he was holding back."

"Let’s wait and see."

Amid the crowd, Ji Changfeng lowered his head slightly, clenching his fists tightly.

The situation now was solely a result of his own weakness. And truth be told, he had been overly reckless. If not for Li Chen’s arrival, he would have likely been eliminated in the first round, let alone pursue the Barrier-Breaking Pill.

"It seems this time, I really acted too willfully," Ji Changfeng muttered, head down, silent.

Although Li Chen was standing on the arena, his gaze unintentionally swept over Ji Changfeng, a faint smile tugging at his lips, without transmitting a sound.

He understood Ji Changfeng wasn’t a bad person but had grown up being overly shielded by Elder Ji, lacking enough pressure and experience.

People often grow in adversity. Li Chen himself had walked this path.

If no drive was given to this kid, he’d likely never truly develop.

"Hey!"

At that moment, a voice called out from the other side.

Two middle-aged men—whose arrival went unnoticed—were now standing not far from Li Chen, observing him with peculiar gazes. "The battle is about to begin, yet you have the leisure to look elsewhere?"

Li Chen glanced at the two men, offering a small smile before responding, "And why can’t I look at other things, even if the battle is about to start?"

Being rebuffed with the same words, the man was momentarily taken aback, his expression calming moments later. "You’re right. My apologies for meddling."

"However," his companion suddenly interjected, "Are you not concerned about your current predicament?"

"What predicament?" Li Chen replied while casually wiping his nose.

The two men fell silent, glancing at Li Chen without saying another word.

Seeing their silence, Li Chen smiled faintly and retreated a step back. Yet inwardly, his mood grew heavier.

Their intent was obvious—provocation, to spark his anger. But their attempt was extinguished before it even began.

Originally, Li Chen had hoped to use this chance to enrage them both, yet he hadn’t anticipated them calming down so quickly.

"It seems their state of mind is better than I expected," Li Chen thought, grinning. "Looks like this fight will be interesting."

At that moment, the referee finalized the arrangements and nodded. "In that case, contestant number thirty-five, Li Chen, have you truly decided to fight alone?"

"I’m certain of it." Li Chen nodded firmly.

"Alright!"

The referee waved his hand and declared, "Then, the finals officially begin!"

"I am Wang Ping."

"I am Zhao Yufang."

Li Chen mirrored their gestures, cupping his hands respectfully, then retreated two steps to scrutinize them.

In the past few days of exchanges, Li Chen had begun to notice his own shortcomings through fighting these individuals.

Truthfully, he was indeed self-taught. Compared to these seasoned opponents, his tactics were still somewhat raw.

Nonetheless, when there is an absolute strength disparity, such strategies become less significant.

However, compared to those born into martial lineage, they evidently understood better how to maximize their power using unique tricks under particular circumstances.

In this aspect, Li Chen remained slightly unpolished.

He was more accustomed to crushing opponents with sheer power than executing intricate techniques.

Yet this lack of finesse had already been tempered into a more balanced approach.

The two middle-aged men appeared utterly ordinary, without exhibiting any striking features. However, the aura radiating from them demanded serious attention.

While Li Chen believed he remained superior to these two, facing two Profound Level Upper Stage experts working in tandem was no trivial matter.

A misstep leading to defeat was something he had no intention of experiencing.

Below the stage, Ji Changfeng clenched his fists tighter.

He understood everything had come to this pass because of his inadequacy, forcing Li Chen into this disadvantageous one-versus-two situation.

Previously, he had always passively cultivated without any specific aim. This attempt to seize the Barrier-Breaking Pill had solely been out of romantic rivalry.

Never before had he felt such yearning for power as he did now.

"I must... become stronger!" Ji Changfeng resolved fiercely in his heart.

Just as Li Chen had said, Ji Changfeng truly could be considered a genius.

After all, though Li Chen had long come into contact with True Qi, he had spent years abroad before returning and formally stepping into the Martial Artist’s path.

In comparison, Ji Changfeng, at such a young age already reaching Yellow Rank Peak, could undoubtedly qualify as a prodigy.

Of course, Elder Ji’s assistance was an indispensable factor in this.

"Bang!!"

Two martial artists, one tall and one short, intercepted the shorter man’s kick, forcing Li Chen to retreat a few steps quickly.

At this moment, both parties were still testing each other’s capabilities.

Launching a head-on battle without a clear grasp of the opponent’s strength was utterly unwise—a fact known to all involved.

"Whoosh—"

Just as he landed, Li Chen’s figure shifted subtly, moving horizontally several paces away.

In the spot where he had just stood, a silhouette materialized, stomping fiercely onto the ground.

The impact left a deep imprint upon the surface.

"Their speed and power are formidable; true to the reputation of Profound Level Upper Stage experts," Li Chen noted inwardly, gaining a rough understanding of their capabilities.

"Although, this may not yet be their full strength. They likely have hidden techniques or trump cards."

Pondering this quietly, Li Chen concluded, "Still, this much should suffice."

"What are you mumbling about?" A voice suddenly called out from behind Li Chen. The speaker was the tall Zhao Yufang.

"Swoosh—"
